for ubuntu 17.04 for intel haswell graphics and mesa 17.0 drivers, you need to start the client forcing it to use opengl 2.1, unlike the previous workaround forcing it to use version 3.0.
without this workaround it will appear as all textures are black (or lighting isn't working) with the exception of the skybox.
but none of this gets rids of horrible flickering on load, that i also had with mesa 12.0
but yeah, it is all too clear now that there is ZERO support for the linux version of NXT so it is just a matter of time before it goes up in flames. let us all celebrate!
This actually sounds like a progress, NXT was crashing for me last year on Intel GPU without even getting into the game.
Still looks like poor support of open-source drivers by Jagex
Pdean44said: Has anyone been able to get 17.04 running properly with RS? I am running AMD. I'm not on Ubuntu, but it works well here on ArchLinux (rolling release = the latest software versions).
Can't you get into the game, or is it the issue with graphics? If you are using open-source drivers, you should switch to proprietary ones for the NXT, at least for now...Ker Laeda - proud Linux user and a Caped Carouser

Thanks a lot, this worked for me on Ubuntu Mate 17.04.
