"Those who sow virtue reap honour."

The slow decline of the Faladorian Empire occurred over a period of four centuries, culminating on December 17th 2011, when Romulus Augustus, the last Emperor of the Legions of Falador, was deposed by a Barbarian chieftain and army. The chieftain offered the soldiers of the Legions of Falador freedom from oppression, tyranny, and greed. They marched into the mighty Citadel atop Falador and the chieftain approached the Throne of Augustus. The people of the fallen Falador went to bow. "No comrades, you stand before me as my equal. Today you are liberated, for no empire can exist without its blood, the who sows virtue reaps honor." Few stood against the Barbarians except a proud few loyalist of the Augustus. They refused to betray their king.  "Do you serve the people or only your king?" the Barbarian Chieftain questioned. "I offer you a chance, serve your people, Knights."The knights of the Legion held up their swords, "For Augustus!" and then were brutally massacred by the barbarians.
