I don't know about you guys but nerfing every non pvm way isn't the way to go. I don't really care that they nerf the gem rocks. I care more about that their first idea is to nerf it as soon as it passes 3m a hr and it doesn't matter what non pvm skill it is. Most are under 3m, I've seen rune crafting might be a bit higher but it doesn't compete with pvm and if they want pvm to be so good they should just take away ring of death so at least it gives them high reward for high risk.
pitso 777said: It doesn't matter I really don't think having bosses in rs3 that give 40-80m a hr is even worth mentioning how stupid that is
When a player dies while doing PVM, they don't just lose money for reclaiming their items from Death. They also lose the time they spent getting no reward for incurring a death.
This is what we mean when we say PVM is "high risk", of losing money and time. Skilling has no risk at all, but skillers still receive a fairly consistent amount of money for their time.
Now we compare the Prif Gem rocks (prior to Jagex's recent fix) with the Fight Kiln for example. Before Jagex fixed what was obviously broken, a player (on average) would receive 3 uncut onyx + an assortment of other gems for 1 hour of their time. For a player doing the Fight Kiln, they would only a receive an uncut onyx if they complete the fight Kiln. If they were to die because of a mistake in pray flicking against one of the "Jads", then they would have to reclaim their items and also don't get a reward for their time. How was that balanced?
And in response to 40-80m/hr for PVMing, that requires significant investment in weapons, armour, other gear, supplies, and also time learning the boss. A player isn't a pro overnight, so they've incurred many deaths before reaching this sort of GP/hr. This is the reward for putting in a lot of effort in the long term. That's why it's appropriate for bossing to be rewarded like this, and for low effort skilling to not be. I saw on Reddit, that Prif rocks are still 2.5-3m/hr... that's seriously decent for low effort, as a mid-level player doing QBD probably makes the same amount since they have to spend money on supplies, degrade costs, etc. It doesn't help, when they get "rewarded" with useless low level stone spirits.Hard -> 3a Range Top (#357), 3a Full Helm (#439), Barrows Dye (#1755)
Elite -> Shadow Dye (#510), Barrows Dye (#680, #1567), 3a Druidic Staff (#969), Sack of Effigies (#972), Ice Dye (#1539)
Master -> Barrows Dye (#480)

Problem with skilling content is, especially AFK-methods - and this happend to be extremely AFK, that it can be done by alts. I run a few alts... Quite a lot, lol. And could've made simply 30m/h by afking. Litteraly by doing nothing but click once ~ per minute. Though, what a few people on Reddit claimed: "OMG THIS HAS TO GET NERF, IT'S OVERPOWERED, WTFffff".... for 1 account, this wasn't anywhere being close to OVERPOWERED.
So yea.. The GP/h was at the right spot, IMO. But can be done easily by altscape, which hurts the prices of all stones.Hello Moto
Odeosaid: Miner: Some good ole pickaxe, Possibly mining cape (99k one time purchace) 1 perfect Juju flask 145k, 1 sip lasts an hour, Lava titan pouch 4k. You forgot the part where the skiller had to go through all the quests to unlock priff.
ROFL at people crying over dying: you have portents, signs, rings, necklace, legendary pet, ring of death and even the chance to buy a reaper reward to pay less everytime you die. I would be pretty cool with an hourly high income tru pvm if you had to relinquish the use of portents/signs and a rng chance to recover your items from the Reaper.
Skilling takes a good tool, it also uses charges because aint nobody got time to mine, wc or fish without perks. To skill efficiently you need LOD, GOTE, urns, summoning beast, teleports, juju potions, the skilling outfits (tru game or keys) so skilling is not cheap either and yet the profits are minuscule compared to pvm. They need to add a rng drop to skilling with a 1/8% chance (maybe a necklace and ring, sigil, etc) compared to the pvm (% drop) and level the field.

If this wasn't nerfed onyx's would have crashed to alch price and hurt skillers instead of help. If they weren't nerfed you can get 4-5 onyx's per hour selling for 1.1m each and 5.5m/hr each. Now you can mine maybe 1-3 an hour and sell for 1.5m-1.8m each depending if they go up. Meaning that it should still be around 5m/hr.
