My point is to link the bars to maintainence vs only creating a new set, elsewise once enough people get a set of fitted masterwork gear the bars themselves wont be worth very much...

That idea basically will achieve one single thing: Depending on the armour is counted as degrade-to-dust for augmentation or not they will either just use custom-fitted trimmed variants only for the content where it doesn't degrade at all (so reaper tasks, slayer tasks and elite dungeons - with the former two requiring bug fixes still) or they simply augment basic chest/legs and leave the remainder of the set to rot.

Either way it will only achieve two things: Kicking out a working gold sink out of the game (it needs a fair bit more of cash to be repaired than torva if you had bothered checking it) and well drastically reducing the demand for basic masterwork items - and in extension - glorious bars. And actually, if that idea comes back to bite you, it would be something you truly deserve then.

Think a second why they had this in the beta - and it didn't went live like this.

I'll just remind that trimmed masterwork is repaired using regular masterwork. So there already is a sink for reg masterwork armour and, by extension, glorious bars.

Right now the market is somewhat oversaturated - so many people trying to make the glorious bars and masterwork armour. But it's going to slow down once the hype calms down.

Glorious bars and masterwork are fine as they are, there is no need to change anything

it's alright people saying wait for the hype to die down, but remember there is another DXW in february which is going to further create unstable prices, it will be the end of feb at the least before jagex can have a real look at making changes.

such a stupid idea to rework two skills then have a DXW before the content has had a chance to stabilised.

But DXW bring jagex money and more membership plus requires little effort on their part, so fuck the in-game economy, making a quick buck is jagex only pure intention here, as proven time and time again.
Jagex - Given up trying to win any decent
award
since 2010.

Please remove the over the top notifications for mimic tokens, its a 10k item no-one wants, it doesn't need a message and loot beam.

I understand, in it's current system that's exactly right, but they could do something else to keep glorious bars up such as inventor materials each separate bar might break down into for new perks or something. This way the bars would have multiple uses to maintain somewhat more demand.

I'd say masterwork is really the last thing you would want to make during and shortly before a DXP we. Since smithing costs money more players will train smithing during it, than others would mine.
