I don't know if this is intentional or not but from this week's patch notes:

Chargebows now take into account arrows equipped or held in an equipped quiver, so special effects like those of dragonbane and black stone arrows can be used with them. Damage will be reduced to the lowest tier of the arrow or chargebow. Chargebows will work as usual when no arrows or another type of ammunition is held in the ammo slot.

What if one is using t90 or t85 arrows in a quiver to facilitate a Strykebow switch for shield abilities, whilst using the Seren Godbow as primary weapon? Damage gets nerfed ...

Why can't the SGB (chargebow) simply select the higher tier of the two ammunitions, in which case the arrows in the equipped quiver would become disregarded by the SGB if they of are lower tier than the weapon's internal ammunition?

Well, for one thing that would mean you couldn't use Bane arrows with the SGB (or other chargebows for that matter). Would honestly be better to just prevent it from using any arrows except for black stone arrows and bane arrows.

They almost got this right.
But...

Dragonkin Lair:
Decimation to clear non-dragon targets, Nox with dragonbane in quiver for dragon stuff. The problem is unless you take the ammo out for the non-dragon mobs, you're using t60 (or whatever bane is) instead of the higher level internal ammo. Why can't the game just default to whichever is best?

e: Unless I'm understanding the patch note wrong.

Don't use T90/85 arrows then?

Strykebow is bad to use anyway because it's T85, you're always better off with a Vengeful kiteshield.

Why must you make exceptions just for bane and black stone arrows? Sounds like entitlement to me. :@

Some people use it as a PF switch. I personally use a glaive but I can understand it must be annoying to have to equip arrows to use Death's Swiftness and then unequip them again.

What I want to know is..if i'm using a T92 chargebow but then have T80 Arrows..will the arrows' damage rise up to T92? or will the chargebow be dumbed down to T80 stats when it comes to combat?
