I am very excited about the fact that there are reworks coming, new areas open and long promised content still in the works.

I am not happy about the fact some stuff was missing and the counter intuitive growth thought process.

Forced group bossing does not create community. It divides the community into those that give up on comp, those that are forced to pay to join groups that prey on people who want comp, and groups that demand a certain amount of kills or gp to join in.

The growth areas that were positive for community and friend chats used to be the minigames, But thalers and boosters killed most of the great minigame fc groups. These are all dead now.
Even if i can get a castle wars game going on thalers the game allows non fc people to crash and disrupt friendly games. Another favorite was group bank skilling, but really so many banks and multiple ge's gathering is now a moot point.

You really have to start listening to community here on Runescape not on reddit not on twitter. You cannot accept a small subset to direct a large game.

I hope this is heard because I like this game a whole lot. Please concentrate on Community, otherwise it's just another silly forgettable game.

Pls give us expansions like the world of Guthix and Aviansies - skilling in exciting new areas is always more fun. Weather would be awesome addition to new expansions.
Taking of in some invention contraption as a teleport would be fun too. I know expansion 2 was cut short but pls consider making invention more visible on the surface world in the future.
Underwater expansion would be great too - could be the archeology skill in the future. Something that will prompt visiting new areas you develop.
Some system that prompts boss masses in game would be nice and the calendar of events that never came should come.
Skilling buffs that run for a period of time and which you have earned through skilling can make the whole experience more dynamic. Best method of training is what gives the feeling of grind so "best" should be subject to timing not permanency like it is right now.

Looking forward to skilling in the next 5 years.

Also if possible pls bring back some of the old untradeable rewards from past events - a 15 year wait is enough.

too many updates. im sure people would prefer quality over quantity, especially in a game that already has a ridiculous amount of content anyway

Dungeoneering is one of the activities I most enjoy in RuneScape, but I don't do it very often.

Because my bank is usually full. So what I'd love to see for Dungeoneering is to have that removed as an obstacle - think of the Dimension of Disaster quest as an example of how it can be done.

But because nothing can be brought into or out of Daemonheim, I am one of those who feels that Dungeoneering feels like more of a minigame than a skill - even though that may make me counted among the Dungeoneering naysayers.

Basically, I think that something derived from Dungeoneering has the potential to give a certain kind of player an opportunity to have fun playing RuneScape between quests, instead of having to grind between quests to make the requirements for the next quest.

This is supposed to be an RPG; instead of being out there practising to be a hero, you're supposed to be out there being a hero - out there saving Glienor. The quests advance the plot. But between quests one should also have something constructive to do. Something fun to do.

Often, people forget that skilling activities are supposed to be fun. When we read comments on the forums it always seems to be about XP return and rewards. At least, that what it looks like.

The survey told us that - actually - fun was the most important thing for you when training your skills. That's music to our ears, and fits in nicely with a 5 year plan we have to make skilling, well, more enjoyable.

Reading this, in my initial reaction, I was torn between two emotions. I was glad to hear you were thinking about this and working on this. But I was also exasperated at the reasoning behind what was being said.

When skilling is not fun, of course people will be focused on how to get it over with as quickly and painlessly (i.e. afk) as possible. That doesn't mean they wouldn't prefer to savor the game with a more leisurely path that was fun. If there was one.

Original message details are unavailable.

Part of that plan is to make content more sociable - more enjoyable when experienced with others.

fun > social..... ROFL

And as for clans....... more pffff

Seems 2017 will be my last year at RS.

Cheers!

While most of these updates do sound cool there is one thing to say,

Please take in mind some of us aren't as social as others, especially with group bossing. It dies out really fast. Not to mention completing tasks for the cape becomes harder for those who don't boss well.

Other than that, looking forward to everything else. Just don't get discouraged about not releasing content as often with these big projects. I for one really appreciate when you guys take your time to make an update (like with the invention batch 2). It felt like a real update, especially with working on bugs and the fact it has not died out. :)

Good, begone. I don't tolerate people who want to watch the world burn. =|

Granted, it's difficult to take what Jagex is saying here at face value, but still...I mean, it's called an MMORPG for a reason...it's massive and multiplayer.
Oh, I almost forgot.
Oh, I already forgot.

Well, what he said was:

That doesn't sound to me as though he is planning to neglect or remove the social aspect of RuneScape, which seems to be your concern.

The social aspect of RuneScape is one of its strengths, and helps to make up for its serious flaw of being overly grindy. There is, I suppose, a connection. (As summed up in the old adage, "Misery loves company"?)

But I think, therefore, that while enhancing the social aspect of RuneScape is a good thing, viewing the "fun" issue as a separate matter, and allowing players to have fun all by themselves while they're gradually discovering the social aspect of RuneScape is also not at all a bad thing.

Bringing fun to RuneScape is going to involve being bold and taking risks on the part of Jagex. Some changes may have to be rolled back until after they're tweaked, because some core elements of RuneScape may be affected by some of the changes.

Speaking of bold:

I know that tricky combat isn't everyone's cup of tea, so were also making some pretty bold changes to Revolution mode for those of you who prefer the easy life. Check out the combat talk later in the day for more information on that.

I guess this means that combat is not going to be reverted to pre-EoC, as has been rumored (some people felt that EoC wouldn't work on mobile). Although a "bold change to Revolution mode" that makes it more competitive with the best manual EoC combat could be considered to be in the direction of doing at least some of the same thing.

Clans - How about we stop being pressured to meet a resource cap for a start? As a maxed player this is purely a burden with absolutely no benefit whatsoever to me. In WoW the benefit of a guild is that you have a readily accessible pool of players to do group content with, but I've never used the grouping system since its invention because it feels so awkward and hard to use.

bank rework - please for the love of guthix get on that. I care about that more than anything else on here.

group ironman - kind of feels like it defeats the purpose? Whatever.

dimension of the damned - Maybe. The world pvp concept was a lot of fun but, much like OSRS I couldn't get myself to re-level that much. Not having to worry about that on these worlds could mean I'll give it a try.

Solak - good grief the bosses just keep getting harder. >.< I avoid RS group bossing for two reasons:
1) the grouping system is awkward as heck and I don't find it intuitive at all to find/use
2) being dependent on other players for my survival in WoW is meh because death is negligible. While we've gotten a lot better at that, it still wards me off trying tough group content on account of the cost of someone else's screwup.

Put the fun back in skilling - YESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean 5 years as a timeframe is a lot but every second I spent leveling my most hated skills that were not engaging or AFK like "run in circles" agility I wished this existed.

novtumberfest - could be fun, I like WoW's brewfest. Hope it's unique and silly.

Running out of chars. Rest looks good, not much else to say.
Headcanon Haven, where everything is made up and the points don't matter.
