Why should the max guild be rolocated to the ge? This will only add clutter. I Don't understand why a Ge should be added to the ge. I'm pretty sure almost everyone has completed the quests anyway. If you want to bring everyone together then add more content that requires a group to be more efficient that everyone can do like overgrown idols. The brightest ideas are the most undervalued.
It was probably proposed in order to make an endgame goal visible to nearly the entire playerbase including f2p which might encourage them to pay up. But I agree that it shouldn't be moved and in fact should be kept as far away from that greedy Solomon as possible.
Don't care myself. Keeping or moving it does nothing negative to me. If it moves, then at least more people that do qualify for it (are maxed) can gain access to it without having to do quests (which isn't everyone's cup of tea). It's for that reason I'm not opposed to it - there is a benefit, just not to those that already have access. There are people out there that love skilling but hate quests - it's these people that this update will benefit.
If it doesn't exactly harm you negatively, what's the reason to strongly oppose it? I'm not getting the uproar I'm seeing about this. It doesn't change the type of player that can enter the guild. It just lifts the quest requirement..
There's no room to add it in any case. With the lodestone being in the center, they would have to move that too, and having a huge hulking building suddenly turn up in the middle of a cramped crossroads would be bizarre.
I'm in favor of them adding a quick-teleport portal near the others however, as it is quite a walk from the lodestone to where the Max Guild is currently located so it does need to be easier to get to: having to jog all the way to the south-east corner to pull-down a banner makes the process unappealing unless you're going to pull down a few banners at once.
Lots of people are making that assumption based on these things:
1) Jagex are concerned that players have little to no reason to leave Prif 2) Jagex want high-levels interacting with low-levels 3) Jagex believe that seeing people enter a building you can't access is good "motivation"
To answer these points:
1) Putting the Max Guild in Varrock changes absolutely nothing about that. Prif players don't literally stay-put in Prif, they leave briefly to do various things but they do spend a lot of time in Prif. All that would happen if they move the MG is that players would LOTD to the GE, then dash 2 seconds in one direction, bolt through a door and be gone again.
There isn't even much reason to be at the Max Guild, because all you can do there is pull-down a few banners that only you can see, and sit on a chair, so if anything this could result in fewer people bothering to use the Max Guild at all.
2) The only interaction this will add is that maxed players will see the noobies, and maybe laugh at them in the short 2 seconds it takes for them to bolt through the MG door. This won't even happen on F2P worlds, so more or less the entire point of the move is lost there.
3) Back in the old days the Taverley Gate was really special and had a large amount of mystery connected to it from the PoV of F2P players. These days that doesn't tend to happen, since it's much easier to find out what's through a door simply by looking on the Wiki or Youtube, so there's no mystery there at all.
It's very rare to see anyone at the GE comment on the Premier Vault, which is another thing of this type, because most people don't care - they know what it is. Max Guild is similarly not cared about until players get within reach of the levels needed to access it.
