Hello.

After the smithing update gold ores crashed but they quickly did recover. There is still demand for gold bars and with that also demand for gold ores. The supply of gold ores however is completely gone. Dependent on f2p players mining then. The ge volume of gold ores has been steadily dropping.
What will the future hold for gold ores, will they go back to 600 ea like they have been in the past, could they maybe even go to 1k each over the course of 1-2 years?
Its difficult to tell but I am sitting on a huge pile of gold ores and time is on my side.

What you guys think will happen to gold ores?
Opinions about silver ores and watermelons are also welcome.

Concentrated Gold ore gives 5 ore each vs 1 ore from regular rocks, making it faster to get. Using gold stone spirits, currently cost 54 gp, brings it up to 6 ore from each meaning you can mine 9,000 gold ore an hour with gold stone spirits or 7,500 gold ore an hour without. I dont remember the last time I mined 9k gold ore in an hour. If gold ore was to go up to 600 gp each, that would put it at 4.5-5.4m per hour for a super afk method. 1-80 mining takes about 2 days to get (tested it my self). You can easily do this method on 4-6 accounts bringing in anywhere from 30-50k gold are per hour. And that's just 1 person. Imagine hundreds of people doing this. There would be more gold ore in the game than people would know what to do with. So if you're asking if gold ore is going to rise? I don't think so. The demand for gold ore will never be higher than the supply.

7.5k gold ores/hour really?
You used to be able to mine maybe 500/hour tops if I remember corretely.
O well,i guess this investment wont pan out then. I will still keep them though, they are my precious.

And about rune ores, wont all ores rise eventually once the crash is over?
There is still demand as they are needed for the higher tier ores if I understand correctly and I don't see people mining them as everyone is high lvl already mining all the new ores?
Maybe I am missing something I don't know.

thx for response.

GOTE (500 porter charges) + RS mobile + afk mining = ores trash forever

everyone and their dog will just afk mine at work, school, on the bus etc. coz ehy not? its that or siphon with divinomatic, but thats a lot lot less afk

I doubt it somehow. rs3 does not have the amount of players. Even the bots and gold farmers have left it seems lol. And when the rats leave the ship its over.
Everyone is maxed and rich,i think most people don't even want to bother with afk mining to get some ores. And if they do they will mine the most profitable ore or an ore that gives a lot of xp,which right now are not gold ores (correct me if wrong).

rs mobile,i don't see how this will be a success. rs3 is far less suited for mobile then osrs in my opinion. Mostly due to the combat system.
And there is so many more fun things that people can do on their phone, like listen music ,play osrs, check facebook or whatever it is that kids do these days. Why would anyone waste their precious time on their phone on afk mining some ores in a dying game that has been milked dry. No wont happen.
9m gold ores a week in ge,people still have stacks. Will probably go to less then 7m soon.
That is the equivalent of 1 player mining 24/7 45k ores/hour If the figures mentioned above are correct (which I find hard to believe). Right now not a single player is mining gold ores, that seems safe to say.

Yeah I don't see much reason why people would mine gold ore anymore. With insane amount of of gold ore you're getting per hour it also makes it less afk and more of a hassle with porters and such. I doubt many people consider equipping new porter or running to bank to get more every 10 mins or so as afking which was one of the things that in past made lrc so attractable.

Think when it comes to this mining regular ores/smelting cballs/smelting bars beats mining gold ore in any aspect (except maybe in gp/hr but I wouldn't know for sure).

Previously a lot of gold ore was also obtained through rdt drops which now drops spirits. You could argue that it doesn't change much beacuse spirits give +1 ore but honestly I don't see many people using them.

I mined gold in lrc for my last 30m mining xp. I received around 520k gold ores total in about 10 days time. You get x5 ore every time you mine gold ore, but with stone spirits, it is doubled to x10, thus using x5 gold stone spirits. Those x10 ores are sent to the bank on 1 porter charge.

Concentrated gold rocks have a hp of 750. So typically, I mine x10 ore every seven seconds with my augmented earth and song pickaxe.

I'm still mining gold ore in my spare time, its fun easy, and most of all you can afk or do whatever you want. It's the same gp/xp hour as the new higher tier ores.

You need gote + pp or perfect juju mining potion + gold stone spirits. On average i used to get about 140-150k xp an hour. With about 5500 ores mined per hour.

I see potential for gold ores to steadily climb up more over time.
