They won't make another rare like this. As soon as the word gets out they'll make sure to fix it. Happened a few years ago when everyone were going crazy over chopped onions (if memory serves me well). Everyone thought it's gonna be next pumpkin but they were for sure dissapointed when Jagex fixed it.''Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience'' - Mark Twain

GG to all the people who've already paid over 100m for shards. Can confirm that I know of at least 2 transactions where someone paid 125m and 150m. And they're currently selling on the GE instantly for 25m.
Image credit to one of my friends who managed to get a hold of a (1-2) shard.
Jagex could have at least caught this early to prevent all this money being lost by people. Now it's just going to screw over the ones who were unaware of jagex's policy on new discontinued items and profit the ones who knew about it but also knew they could take advantage of those ignorant of the policies. Jagex also needs to make their Disc policies public...Now with added

There is no way they didn't know about this issue within 48 hours of the update. Mine wasn't even the first thread. After looking deeper, some people noticed this in under 24 hours; And they posted it on Jagex's own Recent Updates forum!
The moment they learned of this they should have made a news post stating that these items will not be allowed to become rare. The fact that they waited is absolutely ridiculous. They are not clear or direct with their policies because they only seem to state them on reddit or twitter or who else knows where. Heads up Jagex, 99% of your player base will never use one of those sites for Runescape info. You have a news thread on your home page for a reason.
Jagex admitted they knew about it long enough to discuss whether or not it should be fixed. The moment they learned about it they should have made a news post stating their policy on these things and that they are discussing how to handle it. Imagine the billions that probably have been lost now by players who, by no fault of their own, were left in the dark about this policy and update.
They can't even be bothered to add this policy anywhere on the site (nowhere that's clear at least). You can't even find it under the Rules page. Basically, this is a policy that you only know if:
1: You use Reddit often and happen upon a thread discussing it. 2: You have been screwed by the policy. 3: You were told by someone else.
Am I the only one who doesn't understand why the #1 way to learn about this policy isn't from the Runescape official website? It's not even on the list!
