Would you PLEASE seriously consider adding an option when purchasing a Premier Membership to be able to GIFT IT to someone else? You just type in the RSN of the person you're wanting to gift it to and it would not be rebilled into a new subscription.

Thank you. :)

Yeah I know, but.... some people cant afford 20 bonds.... esp when the merchers skyrocket the prices.
I'm also thinking about players who may have quit, giving everything away then came back to the game, or those who got scammed gp so they cant buy the bonds.
In any case I think it's still a good idea.

I think it's a great idea. With the prices of bonds being so high, it wouldnt be very easy for players to buy that many. It would be easier if premium memberships were able to be gifted by other players.

i wouldnt say merchers make the price skyrocket, supply and demand does...
you can also buy the bonds its how they are obtained

even so it would be nice to do this. i think there are many issues that can happen one of them being typos.

then people taking advantage of that

I don't see many issues. Yes, typos would be a possibility, but that's why you best pay attention to or even ask the person you're gifting for the proper spelling of their rsn, if necessary.

On the plus side, for Jagex, they could make more money this way too... why they didn't think of doing this before, is beyond me.

I think it's fair to say they actually did think of it.

Runescape membership by default is a subscription product and as such doesn't lend itself very well to gifting. You need the billing information of the person who is going to be continuing the payments, after all, and one assumes that someone isn't going to buy an ongoing subscription for someone else, most of the time anyway.

Bonds were introduced as a means to combat RWT as well as a way to pay for membership using in-game cash. As such, paying players can buy bonds using a set exchange rate of around $5 per bond and then sell them or trade them in the game. These bonds can be used to a set duration of membership and have no renewal expectations like standard membership.

Buying bonds to give some to your friend using RL cash is pretty much what you are suggesting. You can buy Premier Membership using Bonds. 5 for Bronze, 10 for Silver and 20 for Gold. You also get slight discounts when buying larger quantities of bonds if I'm not mistaken.

i can gift it someone. then email jagex saying oh no i accidently did wrong name some dude idk now has a year members. my friend doesnt.

are jagex going to 1

say aww im sorry heres 1 years members for your friend. while the other one also now has free members

say no you made a mistake pay again. pissing you off and your friend

say im sorry remove the years membership from the player you typed in wrong. (pissing him off he was now thinking yay free members) and give you money back to do it again. or give it to right person

either way it doesnt matter which one. this is how it can be exploited. depending which one they really do. either way thats a huge issue for jagex

because i could ask my friends to change their names to something similar with 1 letter difference. email jagex and say this typo happens. either making it so ive now gifted 2 friends for the price of one (they give me £30 each) making cheaper for everyone

or they ignore it completely, taking the money off of people who did make honest mistakes

or they can not do this at all.

which one is safer option for jagex. its keeping it as it is. cause it can already be done in a safer way
