In-character introduction.

The God wars are no longer having been, they are about to be, and from all sides the strength of faith has come to be tested for both kings and beggars. Streets once paved in silver and gold are more often painted with blood and betrayal; darkness gives a whisper every night into every soul on the edge. Two ancient dragons have perished and in their defeat, a surge of life has flown across the world, reviving individuals in time for the greatest war Gielinor may ever see. Guthix is dead, and his edicts abolished, and so the warbands of Forinthry have begun their final assault, starting in the north at Burthorpe.

- - -

Over in the East, word of foreign sails coming to invade have already begun and there's no rumour that in the beggar's city of Varrock, civil war is imminent. The white knights see a dark time of ancient evils resurging across the world, and though wizards from Kandarin have sailed to offer their aid, not all foreigners seek the peace others do.

- - -

The talk of religious warfare seems less and less like fairytale with every passing day but it appears as though lords and ladies of royalty seem still to care only about the money and the lands they see their people day, as long as they're alive to see their dynasty last a few more years, their family name with a crown on top, there's no use in saving the dying. Though now the world is dying, and in the ashes of the vermillion incident, new prophecies have arised with the rising dead, the invaders of the north and east and west, who will hold onto peace?
Come on, we're going on a living spree.

Out-of-character Introduction.

Welcome to Doom at the Name. This roleplay and thread features World 41's transition into the Sixth Age. Call me the director of this television show, though everyone else the writer of an episode. We'll be following one cohesive story and attempting to bring our community into a brighter time. The hope is that we'll come to a point in which everyone has a character or two that can get invovled with anyone's story, as everyone seems to have a thing or two to say about the world and what they want in it, which is never a problem, as I invite every reader and every roleplayer in our community to begin their own storylines or motivations and ends for their character. What this means, however, is that everyone also needs to support everyone else's story, and so i'm hoping that Doom at the Name can become one long roleplay, almost like a television show, different episodes, same characters, different stories, though ultimately, this is a global coming war, we're going into the Sixth Age, and this roleplay will hope to follow our character's in-depth stories through it.

Our theme song is 'Keys to the Kingdom' by Linkin Park.

We use the friend chat hosted by 'Rom Engine'.
Come on, we're going on a living spree.

Moderators

The following are players in World 41's roleplaying scene you should consult if you're ever unsure about anything or you need a helping hand creating an idea or character. These players can also accept and deny applications on here though we'll try our best to help you get involved no matter what; a player won't be denied access to roleplaying with us without a reason that makes sense. Don't be fooled into thinking these are the only players who can come up with storylines, anyone can run the next chapter in the story.

- Harryman
- Dastjarrat
- Hunttah

Rules & Guidelines

Click here to view the main roleplaying rules that we follow. However, we are much more relaxed on lore, and generally you should just stick to what makes sense. Anything that doesn't; consult one of the more experienced roleplayers. In short, don't cheat using your out of character knowledge of the roleplay, always remember you are your character and not yourself during a roleplay, and don't be rude to the rest of us.
Come on, we're going on a living spree.

Character application

Copy the following and fill in the required fields for your main characters; if your story includes other brief characters, these are secondary, so they don't require an application, and even then applying for a main character; don't write too much, keep us guessing, keep us wanting to know more about the character, so don't worry about writing too little.I would highly recommend laying out the future of your character's story at a basic level, not exact events, but perhaps emotional trials they may go through, stages or events you wish to happen to the character through a story - no player may kill your character so it is a good idea to have an idea how your character's journey will end: give a lot of meaning to it.

Story application

Copy the following and fill in the required fields for your own storyline being part of World 41's Doom at the Name. Once you've applied, we'll talk to you as quick as we can about any problems, and how we can integrate said story into the roleplay. Priority refers to how high risk the dangers are in the roleplay, with high being the absolute highest, a global threat or doom to characters, and low being a small pest or quest that isn't absolutely necessary but will be featured anyway to explain a character's backstory or is maybe a prequel to a greater story. Knowing the priority of your story will help us find a way to balance how frequently the more important chapters come along for our characters, though if you're unsure, talk to one of us in-game.

Asgarnia

Gielinor is the whole of the world in which we roleplay upon. World 41 is the F2P world and so members areas are deemed as somewhat foreign lands, rarely involving in the same politics, and so Gielinor, when described in Asgarnia or Misthalin, may often refer to as just the F2P areas. Access to Kandarin through the mountains has been halted as warbands and trolls have increased their activity and The Imperial Guard at Burthorpe have shut off all access to the West. The temple at the river salve is guarded and so very few come or go from Mortyania. If you wish for your character to come from or visit members areas, this is no problem, these are simply explanations as to why we don't go there; though you're welcome to if you and another roleplayer are members, to go ahead and change worlds and keep within this canon.

The majority of Gielinor is divided into two countries; Misthalin and Asgarnia, the latter being a much richer and undivided place. Ruled by House Vallance in it's capital of Falador, it governs Port Sarim, Edgeville, Rimmington, Burthorpe, and Taverly.

The region refers to land beyond Falador's southern walls, the south of Asgarnia that is Port Sarim and Rimmington, ruled by a Duke, a land equal in size to the north but more modern, with lots of cultures coming in and out thanks to the Port. The north of Asgarnia remains more traditional with royal houses owning land feudalistically, however, Burthorpe is currently ran by a royal council composed of lords and ladies.

- - -

Asgarnia is one united empire.

Falador is ruled by House Vallance.

The region is ruled by the Duke.

Burthorpe is ruled by a royal council, or the steel council.

Taverly is ruled by none, but guthixian druids tend to give the word of the people to Burthorpe.

Edgeville is ruled by none, but the monks of the monastery tend to give word of the people to Falador.

Misthalin

Misthalin's two greater cities are often heard to be in competition to be capital or have the true throne; a king sits in Varrock and Lumbridge. Al-Kharid calls itself an ally of either who pays the most or whoever backs the most; smart and secluded, watching from afar, the kharidians are most foreign in the world but also the most exotic.

There is known to be great tension between Varrock and Lumbridge, war is on the horizon, but Varrock itself is said to be going through it's own civil war with the rich and poor against eachother, leaving the city with almost no standing army. Lumbridge has an army and a fleet and Draynor is said to back Lumbridge more so, though the lords of Draynor tend to stay neutral and away from the political fire.

- - -

Misthalin is a divided nation in a confusing civil/cold war - bands of thieves run wild and nobles houses and lords are in attempt to control the people before revolution.

Varrock is ruled by none, though many lords claim to be lord regent in it's confusing time for the people in the hope they take some kind of following.

The Grand Exchange is a strong political power and global trading bank crafted from it's own council of rich lords who live in Varrock and are said to be the only ones holding the city together.
