Upon signing in, a "notification" screen appeared about confirming my date of birth. Which is rather curious considering that's something we've already done by creating an account.

Solved...Kinda:

Take a look here: click for info about the date of birth prompt

If you don't want to click a link:

"
Some of our players have been asked to provide their date of birth to us via a secure log in to our website. I wanted to explain why this is happening.

We want to make sure that existing data we hold is accurate to meet our legal obligations and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation.

If you are prompted to enter your date of birth it is a ‘one off’ task and as soon as you’ve submitted it to us we’ll update our records and you won’t be prompted again.

We’d like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
"

That answered my question at least, but there's more: What happens if you accidentally put in the wrong info through a typo or whatever reason? Is it, or will it be possible to change the DoB?

Same, tho I didn't fill in that form. I refreshed the page and bypassed it.
Perhaps something to do with their maintenance.

I did. For all I know, not filling that form results in loss of account(unless DoB confirmed)

It'd be really helpful if Jagex actually notified people of things ahead of time.

What if picking a "wrong" DoB results in a loss of account? After all, it's clearly not the one you used when signing up.

I was shocked to see this as well because there were no announcements about it. Here is a picture.

I think it just asked how old I am when I created my account.

Could some Jmod please reply why this is being asked?

Refreshing didn't work for me but I managed to bypass it by copying the session code so I didn't fill it in either.

I thought it was bizarre myself. Was like I thought I was logging into the forums did I accidentally click on create a new account. So I filled in my info, they have it already so went wonder what happens when I hit enter...

Was whisked to the forums and went how very strange, wonder going forward if they are adding an age requirement to the forums. Much akin to the age requirement for speaking in game.

Didn't get anything from my end. Hope there would be a way to change it if you mistype
cuz that entry order day/month/year is not always the order in some countries (Goes month/day/year.) That's a guaranteed typo for some people due to muscle memory from typing it the other way all the time.

Think they changed the login button look a bit a couple months ago so seems like they're doing something with logins.
