Also, do note there were some lighthearted conversations on the previous thread as well. I have yet to see anyone seriously interested into turning this into a trash thread. Fun comments and chatting aren't bad, and there's nothing preventing a good discussion occurring (take note of the discussion on the previous few pages). I think there's nothing wrong with the threads direction or reality.
Windsofnightsaid: Well now that the 'grave bumping' FSR has been updated to this:
- Please do not to bump older threads without good reason (grave bumping). Make sure threads are still useful and relevant before bumping them.
I guess I can go post on one of those older threads on the in-game interface to ask a few questions that I still have. oh wait...will this FSR rule be posted to the other forums too? By the gods of RS I don't want to be accused of grave bumping and have the thread locked without my questions being answered...
If the thread is still relevant...sure.
If your questions pertain to the discussion of the thread, then go ahead and post. If they don't, start your own thread.
Posting on an old thread isn't an automatic bad thing...
Followsaid: I'd be grateful if someone dug up the thread(s) where the quoting system was announced/commented on by Jmods, so I might actually start from somewhere. I don't want to speak to entire team heh... just some Jmod working on quote system/Forum technical stuff. If I recall correctly, there was no real "announcement" of the quote system or any particular way for us to know who was directly involved in the quote system. I think your best bet would be a thread & response from Mod Chrisso.
We can at least be rest assured that this poll doesn't mean the update will never occur. Although, I do see some irony. A lot of people do not use the forums because they are old and not appealing. Because no one uses them, of course not many people are going to vote to update them. A sticky situation lol.
please make a selection option where only moderator post shown so everyone is able to get the newest moderator posts with a minimum of effort. I've seen this suggested before, and I think it actually would be useful for those only looking for official responses. Finding information that you know is genuinely from Jagex is difficult enough, and a feature like this might even be a way to verify Jagex is being quite active on the forums.
Why don't you consider creating a thread about such a tool and seeing if you can gather support from others?
Nornesaid: Motley Cruesaid: Hmm, a little low on active users at the moment. This is the first I've seen it this low (technical situations aside) and I've forumed into the wee hours of the morning. (Pulled a few all nighters and forumed throughout and the numbers never hit this low) Wonder if it has to do with the new update.
I dont think the counters working quite right....I've noticed some interesting things tonight that would suggest it isnt....100%.
Do we have info on how active users is calculated? Do they stop being counted after 10 minutes? Does a page simply need to be open with them logged in? Curious if this could have been changed with the changes.
Treemaidsaid: Yay! The Forum Improvements Thread has finally been unstuck. No point it being there when I can't edit my first posts to update it after all. Maybe this thread will see a bit more of the action now.
I do hope that they've taken a copy of it somewhere for reference purposes though. Mod Balance's closing post didn't mention if he has, and there are still a heck of a lot of good ideas recorded on it from over the years. I was hoping the whole thread might be moved to their own forums. Mod Allstar (or perhaps another member of the web team...?) mentioned a while back that they had archived the thread for themselves. It was part of the reason that made me so confused that it still needed to be around!
