RuneScape official forums forumers guide

Welcome :) !

Welcome to my forums guide. It contains a lot of information so you might use the table of contents to get to the section that is most relevant for you as quick as possible. This guide is meant to be comprehensive so it should also serve as a reference book. Many of the information you find here has been collected from other stickies by other forumers. At the beginning of this guide, you will find some quick help.

I have to thank:
- Loki
- Louiellen

I dedicate this thread to Telmo C, Hravna and Lauterbello. :) Thanks for the good times. ^_^ At this point I want to raise your attention on two points: First of all I'm no native English speaker so please comment on grammar mistakes you might find. Secondly, this guide is “nearly” ready. I still need feedback so please reply at the end of this thread.

The quick help is meant for you if you simply have one certain issue you need help with.

Quick help

My account has been banned

If your account has been banned you might have broken one of the rules of RuneScape. It may be possible that you can appeal your ban. You find more information about it on the account bans support page.

Nothing else can be done via these forums. Jagex normally does not discuss account bans and other players have access to any tool with which they can see whether your ban was legit or not. Ordinarily, players believe Jagex that what they did was right – just because there is no reason why Jagex should upset players through unjust bans.

I have got payment issues

Payment issues can be a lot. Look at the support page within the Support center that fits best for your issue. You can find it here. Some other perhaps helpful information can be found within the this thread in the community lead payment support forum. If you have, after going through the support pages and looking at the linked thread, still got questions then create a thread in the community led payment support forum.

1 Basics

1.1 Who is Jagex?

Jagex is the games company that runs RuneScape. Its office is located in Cambridge, UK. Jagex is the only company that is responsible for RuneScape and has all rights regarding RuneScape. Jagex also published and publishes other games but none of them has ever been as successful as RuneScape.

You find more information and the latest job offers on
https://www.jagex.com/

1.2 Paragraphing

One of the basic things about creating a post is paragraphing. Each paragraph should neither be too short nor too long (best 3 to 4 lines). Important is that with a new paragraph you are writing about a different aspect, use the different argument or go deeper into something. Paragraphs don't need a headline.

Examples:

Liebster said:
Too short paragraphs suck.

This is why you should write longer paragraphs.

You can easily see here that it looks stupid when the paragraph is too short.

But within these examples, you can also see what happens when the paragraph is too long.

Too long paragraphs just look like a bunch of text that does not invite you to read.

Therefore try to avoid too long and too short paragraphs.

Best is when there's also a reason based on content to why you are writing new paragraphs.

The first two of these texts are bad examples, the third one is a good example.

1.3 Grammar

Good grammar makes your posts easier to read and seem, generally spoken, more mature. If you have got problems with grammar for whichever reason I suggest you install “Grammarly”. It's an app that helps you with writing by correcting your mistakes and suggesting correct versions of what you wrote.

1.4 Arguments

A good argumentation contains a statement/thesis, a reasoning, and an example or proof.

E.G.

Thesis: TV makes stupid people even more stupid.

Reasoning: Because stupid people only watch stuff that keeps them busy and stupid people don't watch anything that really informs them.

Example/Proof: This is also the result of a study you can find (link)here(/link).

You need to cover your argumentation.

As coverage for arguments can serve:

- checkable proof
- universally valid norms
- possible consequences
- logical consistencies
- authorities

1.5 Purpose of these forums

By looking at the different forums you can easily find out the purposes of these forums. The forums are there
- for players to have fun (e.g. Forum Games)
- for feedback directed at Jagex (e.g. Recent updates)
- to inform players
- for help with issues regarding the game (e.g. RuneScape Guides & Help; Community Led Payment Support)

Having fun means fun for all players. So rude comments and bullying are not meant with this. The forums are fun. You can read discussions and guess who wins it. This can really thrill you. Or you see an awesome comment and have to laugh. You can also play forum games.

The feedback Jagex receives must be well thought through. Therefore everybody can discuss your suggestions and feedback. You'll soon see that there might be many points regarding your feedback you never thought of. This is how the forum community enriches you.

But this is only possible with real discussions. Discussions on topic with many good arguments. Of course, players supporting an idea are important but more important is it that there has a discussion taken place so players have a bigger picture of your feedback.

The information these forums contain is spread all over the forums. As an information source, the forums are awesome. There's a sticky by Loki regarding information published by Jagex on other sources. You can find it in the "General" forum. It is named "Social Media News".

Also, many discussions are informative. I'm sure you are not able to guess every argument in every discussion. You may see things from another point of view. This is, in my eyes, the most important information the forums offer.

And of course, the forum is there to help players that are stuck. Therefore never be ashamed of asking any question. It's the questions that keep the forums alive. It's players who need help and stop by and create threads that keep the forums alive. Only old forumers that (think they) know everything don't discuss.

1.6 Friends & Forums

The forums are a good place to find new friends. You'll see that there are many forumers doing different activities in game and having different stats. Getting to know forumers can be rewarding.

How do I start?

Simply add someone whose posts you like to your friends list in game. It is possible that this person never comes online since he or she does not play RuneScape any longer or is playing on private off or private on friends.

If you really want to get in touch with someone you are discussing with you may also write in your PS "@xy: Please add me as a friend. I'd like to get to know you better." or something like this.

Friendships from the forums can last a long time and you always have something to discuss: Threads & the forums. It's something that connects. Also you may get to know some background stories. Some threads are created for a specific reason that only the OP knows. You also soon find out who likes who and who dislikes who and why.

This way you have a bigger picture when posting. If you've ever been within a simulated parliament or UNO you can see the in game contacts as lobbying phase.

What do I mean with this? Well on the forums there is not really a place to discuss relationships and you can not always present what your real issue is. In these cases it is better to write in game and have a short live discussion there.

You also get a better impression of each poster. Something that is important to know is the fact that you should have some posts before you add anyone. The problem of adding new friends from the forums without having at least some posts is the fact that they may not recognize you. You find out how to get your first posts in the FAQ section.

Also you may sometimes need a live chat in order to organize something for the forums.

1.7 FAQ

What is a thread?

A thread is a discussion. When you enter the forums you can see the different forums. When you click at a forum you find the threads in a list. In this list, you can see who last posted when in which thread and the thread title.

What is an OP?

OP means original poster with which the thread creator is meant.

What is a sticky?

A sticky is a thread that has been recognized as very helpful or very important and therefore has been made stuck as one of the first threads of the forum you are in. Normal threads are made to stickies by Jagex or forum moderators (after a discussion within the team).

Who can write on the forums?

Every RuneScape member can post on the forums and every free-to-play (F2P) player with total level 350.

Where do I start?

Pick a forum that really interests you. You wanna give Jagex feedback about a recent update? Head to recent updates. Do you want to complain? Log in and head to rants. Do you need help with something? Look at the forum that suits best for your matter.

How do I fastly get many posts?

There are some strategies. First of all, you go to forum games and post there. Then you go through the suggestions forum. You may be able to express what you think about every suggestion. Best would, of course, be if you really discuss the suggestion, add sub-suggestions and help make it a good one.

Then you can continue with the General forum – there are also usually threads that can be easily answered.

750 | Gold
1.000 | Mithril
2.500 | Adamant

How do I change the title of a thread I created?

You can not change the title yourself. You'll need to request a title change in forum help.

2.2 Quick-Find-Codes

Quick-Find-Codes are Codes that make you quickly find a thread. Just copy the code which you can see at the top and at the bottom of every thread in the searching field and you find a thread. Posts can have a quick-find code as well. You find the quick-find-code of any post when you quote it. [ quote id= Quick-Find-Codes] :).

2.3 Links

You can link to threads on these Forums using "[qfc id= Quick-Find-Codes]Write your link text here[/qfc]". You can also link to an URL. For this purpose use "[link url=Url you wish you link to]link text [/link]".

Getting a link from a closed thread is a bit harder but not impossible. There is no known way getting the quick-find-code of a Jmod post in a closed thread but there's a way to get the QFC of a normal user.

There is still a way to get the ReplyUID, but isn't easy :P

Here.

- Remove char limit in Stories - Locked by TheJLC
- [qfc id=278-279-560-64693728-1-324133688]Remove char limit in Stories - Locked by TheJLC[/qfc]

Notice how, even if the thread is locked, I can get the Thread Id. I did that by using the 'Highlight' function. After the escalate action, there is the Reply Number followed by the ReplyUID.

Explaining the link:

-
278,279,560,64693728
,
escalate
,
1
,
324133688

Red
: The Thread QFC. The - symbols are changed to comas.
Orange
: The action that sends the link to the Highlight function on the internal server.
Pink
: The reply number inside the thread. Starting at Zero on the opening.
Green
: The ReplyUID. The same one that comes in the Quoting System.

---

Still, isn't a good way and something should be implemented to make it easier :)

About the 'Impossible to get ReplyUID from Locked Threads'.

Hope it helps.

2.7 Forum avatars

Forum avatars are only available for members and only in RS3. You dress up like you wish to and then go to the photo booth west of Falador. There you take a picture and tada – the head is your RuneScape forum avatar. However, you can not use borrowed items for a picture.

2.8 Signatures

Under your forum profile you can find where you can write your signature. Signatures, of course, have to follow the rules. If they don't they can be edited by a moderator. There's an awesome guide about signature making in forum games. You can find it by clicking here.

3 Code of Conduct

3.1 Introduction

This is where it gets a bit exciting since I'm writing this as a player. Maybe you have already read the Code of Conduct, maybe you have not. Anyways you should read it at least once and every time one of your posts is hidden/threads is locked.

You really should read through the Rules and the Code of Conduct since it can be very frustrating if one of your posts gets hidden. It is definitely worth the read.

3.2 The Rules of RuneScape

You can find the rules here. Read through the whole text before you continue to read here. It is very likely that when you are new you do not know every rule and might not have been known that they were that strict.

Good to know:
- You may use the Windows mousekey but that's all you are allowed to use additionally.

3.3 Additional rules for the forums

There are some additional forum rules:
- no quitting threads
- no drop party announcements
- no spam/off-topic
- no hijacking of threads
- no link shorteners
- no naming & shaming
- no (open) discussion about a moderator's decision
- try to avoid backseat moderation
- no begging
- Forum specific rules

No quitting threads

You read right. Quitting threads are not welcomed on the forums :( .There is a small sized exception of this rule- if you write "I'm quitting and this is why", and relate to the RS game then you could possibly post it within rants or game feedback since it contains feedback. The problem with quitting threads is that some people start begging for your stuff which is considered spam and if your thread encourages others to spam it is closed.

No drop party announcements

Yup, you must not announce drop parties on the forums. But this only counts when you are only inviting to a drop party. Inviting to a drop party after an event is fine.

No Spam/Off-Topic-posts

That one's a bit harder. Not every off-topic-post is hidden. Basically, you need to stay on topic of the thread which is roughly determined by the opening post by the thread creator. This includes but is not limited to: Only commenting on grammar; talking about the player instead of the topic; leading the discussion away from the topic via details discussion. And Spam is basically a post without a concrete meaning. Examples:

Liebster said:

No thread-hijacking

This means that you must absolutely not try to permanently change the thread's topic.

No link shorteners

For security purpose, you must not use link shorteners.

No naming and shaming

You must not speak about any account or player in a bad context No matter if you've got screenshots or anything. Screenshots can be manipulated and none of the forums users was there. So no matter what – don't write badly about anyone.

No (open) discussions about moderator's decisions

Yeah, you read right. Players must not discuss a mod's decision. This involves recreating a closed thread, reposting an unhidden post or asking why something was locked or hidden. However, you can "appeal" the mod's decision if it was no Jmod. This is done via Forum Moderation Review Sticky in Community home. But I suggest that you rather read section 3.5 what to do if my post was hidden/thread was locked first.

Try to avoid backseat moderation

Backseat moderation means acting like a mod if you are not a mod. This means commenting on a post to be hidden/thread to be locked without you being a forum, Jagex or local moderator. This is important since commenting on rule-breaking within a topic without being a mod may lead to thread derailing. This means that people may start discussing your post, may starting discussing you and the other forumer or the question if a rule was broken.

If you see someone stating that a rule was broken without a green/purple/yellow background you should best not comment on this. Try to comment on the thread and if there has already been a discussion about it within the thread you could try to report it on Forum help.

No begging

No begging for real life items or game items is allowed on the forums.

Forum specific rules

There are forum specific rules for many forums. Read them before posting in a subforum. You can find them here:

3.4 What to do if someone breaks a rule?

Don't comment on it. If you are writing for someone a helpful post (e.g.: Someone needs help since he has been phished and mentions the website) you can put a very friendly reminder in your PS.

Anyways you can report it on forum help. You find the forum help thread within the community home section. Very serious issues like breaking real-world laws or someone's life being threatened can be reported to Jagex directly via the highlight feature.

3.5 What to do if my post was hidden/thread was locked

First of all, take a deep breath. It is just a post/thread on an online gaming website.

Then read through points 3.1 to 3.3 of this guide. Take a look at the reasoning. There's (nearly) always a post by a forum moderator or Jagex moderator or Lmod when a post was hidden. This post is meant to explain the reasons. Sometimes the post is a bit behind your post so you need to take a look at the next page for example. Sometimes, if the contents of the threads are too dangerous, the thread is completely hidden and the user in question may receive an inbox message.

Now there's the option that you think the moderator's action was legit and tell yourself to not do the same mistake again or you disagree with the moderator's decision.

When you disagree then the best is to ask why the thread was locked/post was hidden. You can directly jump to Forum Help. This you can do in case you just do not understand why your post was hidden. Ask kindly for an explanation and you might get an answer from a forum mod. Especially when you are new it is more likely that you did not understand something regarding the rules than an FMod hiding a post/locking a thread in error.

However, if you think the FMod's/JMod's/LMod's action was wrong you can post on Forum Moderation Review. Your post will be automatically hidden and be reviewed by a JMod. You normally get a short reply - either sent to your inbox or a JMod post within the thread. This means you have to regularly check the thread after you posted in order to see if there's an answer.

3.6 The forum offence system

There's a nice thread about the forum offence system in Community home. It may be worth a read if you want to know what consequences people face that continuously break the rules.

4.1 Jagex Mods

Read the article of the Support Centre In the following, I'll be only explaining things you can not find within this article. ^_^ In Game Jmods can teleport to every place they want with a coordinate teleport. They can even teleport on top of the water. Jmods can in order to find bugs and things like changing their skills to whichever level they want.

Jmods have an item called " rotten potatoe" that they can use for the teleport or for summoning monsters of every kind (in-game NPCs). Jmods can conjure every item that has been unlocked for Jmods which is every or nearly every item.

Within the forums, Jmods can move threads but they decide whether there's a notice back in the old forum or not. Jmods can close threads in two ways: one-way Fmods can still post, the other Fmods can not. It is the same with hidden posts – they can be hidden for Fmods or not. Jmods can use additional tools when writing a post. Every thread can be bumped by Jmods. The minutes-rule is out of order for them as well as for any Fmod.

Jmods can edit the title of threads. Jmods can ban players from the forums but they can work it out more detailed than Fmods and can extend it to the game for example with an in-game mute. They can also change the duration.

Access to all internal forums (like Pmod and Fmod forums) they have of course as well. They support the mods there.

Jmods convene meetings every now and then. And who what have guessed it? Meetings among Jmods are normal office meetings. With Pmods they meet in the Pmod room This room can only be unlocked by Jmods and can only be entered by Pmods. The place of the room is a secret that no ordinary player shall find out.

Of course, Jmods also meet with the Fmods. However, they don't have an own room. Therefore the arrangement in this case differs.
Good to know: every employee of Jagex, no matter where he/she works, has got a Jmod Account.

Jagex Moderators can edit anyone's post here on the Forums and once that is done, it cannot be edited by the user in question and can only be edited by a J-Mod. Furthermore, if a Jagex Moderator edits a title or hides a post, an F-Mod will not be able to either edit that title or unhide that post.

If a Jmod breaks a rule it has to be treated like a breach of the rules by anyone else. Who claims to be a Jmod that is at the moment playing with his private account should be reported.

4.2 Forum Mods

Read the article of the Support Centre In the following, I'll be only explaining things you can not find within this article. ^_^ Fmods can close threads. This is either because the rules have been broken or because the thread creator wants his thread to be closed.Fmods can make normal threads stickies.

Toxic posts can be hidden for normal users by Fmods. For their colleagues and Jmods these posts are shown red (and its content is shown.* Threads that are in the wrong forum can be moved by Fmods. In the original forum there then still is a blue hint with a link to the thread in the new forum.

Fmods can change thread titles. Concerning bumping, Fmods can see how often a thread was bumped (and Fmods can bump every thread not just their own. Therefore there is no 10min rule for Fmods. )*

For bigger or many rule breakings Fmods can ban a player. (The durations they can choose are 24, 48 and 72h. Regularly you get 48 hours. )* The ban then will be redirected to a Jmod who then decides what action is taken. For example, the Jmod could additionally apply an in-game mute or of course, unban the player.

For discussions, they also have access to Fmod forums (and a forum that both, Pmods and Fmods, can use)*. To discuss important things Fmods can easier contact Jagex Mods.

Threads that need Jmod attention can be reported by Fmods (together with comments and/or questions. After reporting a thread Fmods can receive feedback through a system.*

Fmods have a say when it comes to new Fmods. However, if a person is picked or not is, in the end, the decision of the responsible Jmod. During meetings with Jmods Fmods can, for example, discuss new forums before they are created. They can not change anything directly but they can bring up pros and cons for or against the forum.)*

Rule breaking of every kind done by a Fmod should be handled like rule breaking committed by any other player. In game use the report button. On the forums, it may be best to use forum mod review. If any player tells you in-game that he is a Fmod in sense of "My main is Fmod" you should report it. No matter if it's true or not.

Please note that there currently are enough Fmods so Jagex does not recruit any new Fmods.

()* means that the information may be considered "unverified". You find the discussion about it here. ^_^

4.3 Player Mods
Read the article of the Support Centre In the following, I'll be only explaining things you can not find within this article. ^_^ There's also a very helpful thread about player moderators in the Community Home forum. You can find it here. In the following, I'll only mention things you can neither find in the support center nor in the mentioned thread.

Pmods have got access to extra Pmod forums and to a forum for forum and player moderators. In-game they can mute players for one hour. Their reports have the highest priority. For meetings with Jmods they have access to the Pmod room. Pmods mustn't out themselves as Pmods on the forums since they have no additional tools on the forums and because no one can see on the forums whether someone's a Pmod or not.

When you set your public chat on off or on friends you still see the chat of a Pmod. Only with the ignore list you can make the public chat of (one/) a Pmod invisible for you.

Rule breaking of every kind committed by Pmods is like rule breaking done by an ordinary player. This means you can report it. Wrong mutes needn't be reported since they are checked by Jagex staff automatically.

If a player pretends to be a Pmod in sense of "my main is pmod" then you should report that player because you can not that easily able to relate to it.

There are also some nice facts that I won't mention here since they are only nice to know and have no real value in themselves.

4.4 Lmods

Lmods were designed to be language mods. These are moderators by a third party that should care about the language communities. However, they do not exist anymore in this format.

The current Lmods are employees of Keywords studios and are meant to help Jagex Community Management team. They can be seen as normal Jmods and are meant to get a real Jmod account soon.

4.5 Community helpers

Read the article of the Support Centre Additionally there's a thread about Community helpers in Community Home forum which you can find here.

I have no additions to make to these two sources.

5 Post quality

5.1 Introduction

Post quality is important. The high quality of your posts gives you a good reputation, poor posts do the opposite. But besides that high-quality posts are more helpful than others and make discussions great. In the following, I'll give examples of a poor post, a medium post, and a high-quality post. I will hardly be able to cover every eventuality. Therefore you can see this as the basics.

Good posts always have correct grammar and paragraphs with the right length. You find more about it within the "Basics"-Section of this thread. So let's start.

5.2 Commenting on problems

With commenting on problems I generally mean that you try to help someone. May it be a quest or a skill, payment issues or account help or something technically. I've made a short list on how to fastly recognize a good post or a bad post.

Very poor posts:
- Offtopic posts
- Posts that break the rules

Poor posts:
- bad/wrong grammar
- bad paragraphing
- wrong reply
- referring to the/a player, not to the problem

Medium posts:
- right reply but too long
- right reply but far too short
- the right reply but not with the best information
- reply with useful (general) information but without specific information

High-Quality Posts:
- are neither too short nor too long
- are a specific reply containing the needed information (and maybe some general information, too)
- show a sense of empathy

Since it is easy for me I'll use an account help thread for examples.

Hiya

I'm sorry for your loss. But there's no way to get your stuff back. Jagex doesn't give back items to players that have been hijacked. So let's look forward.

You need to secure your account in order to prevent it from happening again. If you've still got a keylogger then you might get hacked again in the future with even more loss. So how do we start?

There's a guide in the "Guides and Help" section called "Comprehensive Account Security". Look at this guide. You can easily find it by clicking here(link to that guide). Here's the steps you need to do if you've got a Windows PC:

1) Search "Malwarebytes" on google and download the software.
2) Search "Avast Free Antivirus" on google and download the software.
3) Install both.
4) Run a full scan on your computer. Really a full scan. If you do any other scan you are still not safe. So full scan, it is!
5) Set up authenticator. You find a full guide here (link to support page).
6) Change your Email Address. Create a new email address with google mail. Enable two-step verification and link this mail to your account. The Mail should not content
- your personal data (Name, Birthdate, school/work)
- your RuneScape Account

And that's it. Enjoy RuneScape. If you feel you still need help you might want to take a look at the "How NOT to be Scammed Guide"(link) in RuneScape Guides and Help

Cheers

Unfortunately there is no item/gp replacement service when an account is hijacked.
However, you CAN report the Youtube video to Youtube and they will take it down.

You should edit your post above and remove the other players name and the Yt video search term. We are not allowed to post identifying information about malicious content or other players names as, right now, you are also advertising the Yt video and making accusations against another player who may be completely innocent (you are not sure of the name and the other account may also be a stolen 'victim' account).

You should browse the Security articles on the website here as there are a number of articles that will help you secure your account, computer and email.

You might have already noticed: There's only one good post listed. Really good posts are rare. And that's because they are a lot of effort and for me personally it also is the language – I'm german. If I went for only high-quality posts each post would take a lot of time and it might not be that much fun anymore. Therefore I usually post only medium quality.

When it comes to helping posts in other sections for example regarding the game the lists are still useful.

5.3 Giving feedback

You can give feedback on the forums. Either you make your own suggestions or post your own rants/compliments (threads), or you comment on an existing one. If you create your own suggestion thread you should read the “ Good suggestions guide”. If you want to post a rant make sure it's okay with the sticky in rants.

I will not write about creating a thread but I'll write about discussing in a thread.

I'm now going to list a bit how you recognize what kind of post (poor, average, good) within the feedback sections.

Very poor:
-Hidden posts/Posts that should be hidden

Poor:
- Discuss the player, not the suggestion/feedback
- are only “Support” or “No support”
- bad grammar/paragraphing

Average:
- Give reasons for the opinion

High quality:
- Invite to discuss through questions or own suggestions
- use arguments
- may be roughly trying to convince other players but are always friendly to other players that are part of the discussion

Additionally, I want to mention some things good to know when you go for high quality:
- “I appreciate your post” is a good way to start
- when you quote someone just quote the relevant parts you will comment on. Don't quote the whole post.

Since it's easy for me I'll take one of my own thread as an example.

Forums should give XP. Maybe there should be books/lamps as XP rewards for good posts. There needs to be a qualified vote. Someone who is qualified votes for posts as good/average/bad and gets rewards for his/her votes and the majority of these votes determine as which quality the post is marked. For good posts you get far more XP than for bad posts.

This needs to be done in order to make more players write on the forums.

Sorry but I can't support something like this. The only connection the forums should have with the game should be a title addition which changes colour depending on your forum rank.

For example, with me Forumer's name
the forumer
with the title being green as I have emerald rank.

I don't think having XP rewarded for using the forums is needed.

So this post is average. It does not explain the reasons why the poster's against it but it has an interesting suggestion in it. Another average post would be:

“Hiya

I'm against this idea although I really appreciate new ideas and the effort it takes to discuss them.

There's literally no way this can work. If every player can vote players will just invite their friends to vote for their posts as outstanding. The Fmod team alone could not do the job and Jagex inviting players to get the ability to determine the post quality is just too much effort. How do you think this could work? Have you got any idea on how to make this actually work without being misused?

However, an in-game title would be nice. For this feature, you can count me in. This would be rewarding those who frequently use the forums and are proud to be a part of its community.

Hey
Loki

to 1: I choose the title that way since this is not an official guide. It's just my thoughts and my collection. If it would have been recognized by Jagex as a good guide I'll change the title. The background story of this is a forums guide (for the german forums) I wrote 2009. This guide was named "Forums guide" and its name was changed by a jmod to "Liebster's forums guide" since "Forums guide" sounds official and it's not an official guide. Therefore the title.

To 2: The 1,2,3, etc.. headlines are gold and bold, the subheadlines are just bold. I also added some color when I went through the whole thread.

To 3: I have quoted people from which I took information. The quote directly leads to their thread. But I'll ask for permission.

To 4: Sorted

To 5: Sorted

To 6: I tried to get rid of these errors with Grammarly. I used only the OpenOffice correction when I wrote this thread. If there are still any please don't hesitate to post them. At school our teacher once said that the English don't use any comma at all. :S I never learned english punctuation.

To 7: I already referred to both threads. I linked to them.

To 8: Sorted. If I missed any please post.

To 9: I made them green. Sorted

To 10: Sorted

To 11: It's not much text. Should be easy to read. We could discuss this later.

To 12: Sorted

To 13: The links are meant to complete the guide and give a rough overview. That's their purpose on my guide. They are not meant to be used as quick links ;). Since the guide gives information on how to use the forums your directory is just the perfect end. The guide finishes with showing the possibilities of the forums :). That was the reason why it was put at the end.

To 14: Hmm, well, yes I have to admit some threads like the "how to upload an image"-sticky could be replaced by my thread. But that was not the idea behind it. The idea was to give all information needed for good foruming in one place.

Hi
Wynd
,

I worked on nearly all of your suggestions and corrected my guide. Concerning the RWT thing, I asked a forum moderator in-game and it's rather considered trusted trading. Therefore I deleted this. Regarding the FMods the information should be okay. It has been published on the german forums ages ago by someone who later became Fmod. I guess this person has asked before he published the information.

Concerning the disagree or agree with Fmod's actions: Well I made it the old-fashioned way. There are rules you need to abide if you disagree with someone who took actions against your post because you did not abide by the rules you might not be aware of the rules and how they are meant. In most cases, it is rather a misunderstanding of the rules than a Fmod acting falsely or disagreeing with what touches a rule. I mean the rules are rather clear and are not that roughly enforced so it's likelier that you did not know the rule because it has not been enforced that way than your post is okay and has been misread.

Just my 2 cents

Liebster, please review section 4.2.

Only include items that are 'confirmed' true and correct by the official article about Fmods and from the Runescape wiki.

I don't know where you sourced the other details you posted there, but I will not confirm nor deny those either. Better stick with information that is available publicly. If it was mentioned by a Jmod here in RSOF, include a direct quote from her/him.

This information is available publicly. It was posted on that guide:

http://services.runescape.com/m=forum_de/l=1/c=oeM9-fTYrgU/forums.ws?85,86,45,103462,20,554715#20

I know it is in German. But Schmiddle created this guide when Mod Argus was around and last updated it during a time when he was Fmod. Here's one of his posts around the time when he last edited that post:

http://services.runescape.com/m=forum_de/l=1/c=oeM9-fTYrgU/forums.ws?97,98,29,111899

I see no reason why Schmiddle would have lied. Plus guides have to be reviewed by the German Fmod team before they can be moved to the guides forum (you can not create threads there). This means the basic guide was okay. The edited version from which I have been taken the information was edited while Schmiddle was FMod. This makes it a trustworthy source.

All I can not tell is if the information is partly outdated. Because some of the information of his thread (mainly regarding Pmods) was outdated the thread has been closed. Except for the red background of hidden posts (forums update?!), I believe everything I mentioned should be up to date.

So I should have neither published confidential information nor false information. I'll mark some things as possibly outdated :).

"Mum? Loulou is annoying and bullying me! Can I get her Christmas presents until she stops?"

- "Ohh honey, stay kind. And Loulou is not bullying you, she's just speaking her mind"

You heard my mum ^_^. I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable with my guide so I'll do the changes you suggested. But I'll need your help: Which information shall I mark as unverified? I honestly don't know what Jagex has published over the years and what not. You need to know I haven't been around here for a while and before I was last around I also haven't been around for a long time, And RSWiki is not a trustworthy source. Everyone can edit it and I could even add my information there as verified since I have an, in my eyes, trustworthy source.

So just go ahead and tell me: What shall I mark as unverified?

Hey Loki,

I don't know if a deleted tweet is the best source of information^_^ . However, I'd really like to see the picture. Maybe I could use it for JMod or Fmod section. You need to know the main parts of unverified information are not about the functions. But still, the picture could make an awesome addition to this guide :).
