Then he returns to you with the underwear of the scammer and you've got a trophy. So GO AHEAD!

So now you need to secure your account first in order to prevent this from happening again. To do so scan for viruses. You may use Malwarebytes or Avast. Then take a look at this page (link to a support website page). There you find some additional info. All you need to do after scanning is checking out this guide. There you find some really useful information. Then I have to tell you that you won't get any refunds. Your Stuff is lost forever.

- bad paragraphing (is meant to be an example for that)

Hiya,

once you have been hijacked you need to check your PC. So scan your PC for viruses. And make sure it is safe:). Good Luck!

There's no giving back of items you lost due hijacking. Account safety is your own mission.

Hiya

I'm sorry for your loss. But there's no way to get your stuff back. Jagex doesn't give back items to players that have been hijacked. So let's look forward.

You need to secure your account in order to prevent it from happening again. If you've still got a keylogger then you might get hacked again in the future with even more loss. So how do we start?

There's a guide in the "Guides and Help" section called "Comprehensive Account Security". Look at this guide. You can easily find it by clicking here(link to that guide). Here's the steps you need to do if you've got a Windows PC:

1) Search "Malwarebytes" on google and download the software.
2) Search "Avast Free Antivirus" on google and download the software.
3) Install both.
4) Run a full scan on your computer. Really a full scan. If you do any other scan you are still not safe. So full scan, it is!
5) Set up authenticator. You find a full guide here (link to support page).
6) Change your Email Address. Create a new email address with google mail. Enable two-step verification and link this mail to your account. The Mail should not content
- your personal data (Name, Birthdate, school/work)
- your RuneScape Account

And that's it. Enjoy RuneScape. If you feel you still need help you might want to take a look at the "How NOT to be Scammed Guide"(link) in RuneScape Guides and Help

Cheers

Excercise:

In which category would you put the following post?

Hi there
Player name

Unfortunately there is no item/gp replacement service when an account is hijacked.
However, you CAN report the Youtube video to Youtube and they will take it down.

You should edit your post above and remove the other players name and the Yt video search term. We are not allowed to post identifying information about malicious content or other players names as, right now, you are also advertising the Yt video and making accusations against another player who may be completely innocent (you are not sure of the name and the other account may also be a stolen 'victim' account).

You should browse the Security articles on the website here as there are a number of articles that will help you secure your account, computer and email.

It is close to high quality but there's a large paragraph about naming & shaming and the player who wrote this is not a mod. That one better fits shortly into the PS. And then the showing of empathy is a bit short (just "unfortunately" ).

High quality post:

PS: You should edit your post above and remove the other player's name and the Yt video search term since it is not allowed due to the risk of shaming innocent players or leading players to dangerous websites.

You might have already noticed: There's only one good post listed. Really good posts are rare. And that's because they are a lot of effort and for me personally it also is the language – I'm german. If I went for only high-quality posts each post would take a lot of time and it might not be that much fun anymore. Therefore I usually post only medium quality.

When it comes to helping posts in other sections for example regarding the game the lists are still useful.

5.3 Giving feedback

You can give feedback on the forums. Either you make your own suggestions or post your own rants/compliments (threads), or you comment on an existing one. If you create your own suggestion thread you should read the “ Good suggestions guide”. If you want to post a rant make sure it's okay with the sticky in rants.

I will not write about creating a thread but I'll write about discussing in a thread.

I'm now going to list a bit how you recognize what kind of post (poor, average, good) within the feedback sections.

Very poor:
-Hidden posts/Posts that should be hidden

Poor:
- Discuss the player, not the suggestion/feedback
- are only “Support” or “No support”
- bad grammar/paragraphing

Average:
- Give reasons for the opinion

High quality:
- Invite to discuss through questions or own suggestions
- use arguments
- may be roughly trying to convince other players but are always friendly to other players that are part of the discussion

Additionally, I want to mention some things good to know when you go for high quality:
- “I appreciate your post” is a good way to start
- when you quote someone just quote the relevant parts you will comment on. Don't quote the whole post.

Since it's easy for me I'll take one of my own thread as an example.

OP:

Liebster said:
Forums should give XP. Maybe there should be books/lamps as XP rewards for good posts. There needs to be a qualified vote. Someone who is qualified votes for posts as good/average/bad and gets rewards for his/her votes and the majority of these votes determine as which quality the post is marked. For good posts you get far more XP than for bad posts.

This needs to be done in order to make more players write on the forums.

What to do with such a reply? I now know someone does not support the idea but that's it. There's nothing I can discuss!
