~Drake Ideas and Feedback~

-Drake Ideas-

-Pet Drake Design competition-
ask for players to think up a type of drake pet with 3 growth stages. Drakes can be varied in appearance, so they don’t seem repetitive and appeal to different players. Rewards can be winning design(s) will be free to those who created them. Runners up could get runecoins.

-Fairy Drake.
It should look colorful and pretty, but still having drake/ dragon like qualities, such as bat inspired wings. It can have horns and fairy like antennae. Or it could be a feathery dragon, with bird like wings instead of bat ones. Less spikes, more feminine.

-Water Drake.
Elemental drakes are an option with the fire drake. Instead of having hind legs, it should have a serpentine/ seahorse tail. When it reaches it’s adult form, it flies with it’s tail curled up like a seahorse. It should mostly be blue in color. Lots of potential to include design elements of sea creatures.

-Steampunk/ clockwork Drake.
It looks like a mechanical drake, with steam coming out of it. If steampunk based it would mostly be a brass colored drake.

-Drake Feedback-

-Consider making any future drakes smaller when they reach adulthood. While the current ones shouldn’t be changed, the adult forms take up a lot of the screen and the flapping wings are distracting. I assume when used as a familiar override the adult forms would take up a lot of space when fighting familiars and get caught in tight spaces.

-Consider letting us use the teleports when not having the dragon pet out, or allow us to use the dragon teleports when overriding a familiar (if that can*t be done already)

Please share your ideas and feedback of drakes. I think Jagex may make more in the future. They would appeal to collectors, and with variations in theme and design, when one drake doesn’t appeal to a player, another kind might. I’m excited, I might draw out some of my ideas.

~Player Feedback~

xMEWx: Thinks drakes are too big and wants the option to hide other players familiars/ pets

Gir 0_o: Thinks the size of drakes are fine.

I don't think Jagex could make a very decent looking steampunk drake :|

Their trick of substituting high poly count with textures would make for a very unconvincing mechanical beast.

A spirit drake would be really cool. Just a blue glowy ghost drake.

I didn't think of graphical limitations when I thought about a steampunk drake. You have a great point.

I'll add a spirit drake to the list! Thank you for commenting!

As long as they don't make oversized flapping dragons anymore, I'm fine with this. Current drakes are obnoxious. And for the love of all things holy, when are they going to remove other player's pet options?
I love hot cheetos.

Support! cant get enough dragon-ish thingies. Always enjoyed drawing them, as you can really go mad when it comes to variations!

Fairy Drake and Water Drake sound similar to the beautiful Fey Dragon Mount from WoW! (check it out)

apart from Elemental drakes which sounds awesome, perhaps..a special one that changes based on your chosen Emissary? the
Deity-Drake!

would not mind more
idle animation pet options
that can follow along the lines of the Silver hawk item (perch on your arm/shoulder when standing still). perhaps a smaller drake for this type of thing (Drake Familiar). They even teased us with the Lava Hawk's arm rest emote! Maybe even a serpentine drake familiar that you can drape over your shoulders!

Yin-Yang Drake
- half black, half white, sleek on both sides with glowing gold eyes, trailers of smoke and mist left in it's wake.
Awesome Runelab Ideas
Souls of the Sand, Last of the Naragi, Werewolf Quest
