- Intro -
Many people, including myself, were very enthusiastic about not having the G.E. This was the case when OSRS had just been launched.
I had a lot of fun with buying and selling goods south of the Varrock west bank and competing with other players on the Zybez RS forums.
A precious memory that I would like to share with you about that time:
I played osrs from the day of release and soon found a gap in the market: selling quest kits. I spent many hours collecting all necessary items for RFD and Dragon Slayer. Then I sold those quest kits for about 30k each in Varrock. This (together with running nats) is how I made my first millions in the first week of OSRS.
- Success has already been proven -
Prior to osrs, private servers such as Project RS06 and 2006Scape were extremely popular. These illegal copies of rs did not have a G.E. but could nevertheless exist and enjoy popularity.
- Proposal -
Assign a couple (2 for example, P2P/F2P) worlds which will be the original copy of OSRS (February 14, 2013). This means without any updates but with the bugfixes that came afterwards.
Players will have to create a new account and can enjoy a brand new economy where they will have to find other players to trade with.
This idea is not to be confused with suggestions like group ironman etc. It would just be the osrs that many people were expected to get when they voted for it back in the days.
This whole suggestion could perhaps lead to a pilot experiment to see if there is enough interest from the community. Financially it is not risky for Jagex because all content is already there.
Maybe writing this thread is a waste of time, but maybe not! Only time will tell. I'm curious about your opinions and please let me know if this idea is something you would support. If not, constructive criticism is also welcome.
