I'm yet to see a good reason for PvM droptables to contain skilling resources. ^ Yep...it's totally fine for some reason that combat gives more skilling resources then skilling does, but just imagine the uproar from all the easy scapers if we actually follow that train of logic through completely and had it so that skilling provided the bulk of combat resources like twisted bow, visages, bandos armour etc etc.
Notcool97said: Support. I'm yet to see a good reason for PvM droptables to contain skilling resources.PvM drop tables have to include skilling resources for a number of reasons.
Firstly, PvM has to be worth doing. Your average kill needs to be profitable in order for the activity to be worth doing. If people couldn't expect to make money doing PvM, they simply wouldn't do PvM.
Secondly, the price of unique drops will decrease over time as more people obtain them, so while initially it might be worth doing content just for the uniques, that will quickly change.
Thirdly, because of reasons one and two, something must drop in between uniques to make PvM worth doing. There are three choices: skilling resources, alchables, or gold. If you only add alchables or gold to the drop table and make all of the profit come from that, you flood the economy with gold and cause massive inflation.
As such, skilling resource drops allow for PvM to be profitable without destroying the economy.
The problem: PvM drops too many skilling resources compared to actual skilling. While dropping skilling resources is necessary to maintain balance, that balance is off right now, arguably by a large margin. There'd be no need for 3rd party clients if the default one was decent. I vote no to all non-PvP Wilderness updates, and yes to all PvP Wilderness updates. If you want to revive the wilderness, encourage players to PvP, not lure them to the Wilderness to be victims.

Skilling needs to be able to get PvM drops such as Twisted Bows in order to be worth doing. Since people dont expect to make much money skilling, they don't skill.
The prices of skilling resources tank much quicker than PvM resources do. This is all the more reason to make Twisted Bows fletchable and Scythes smithable. The first runite rocks were tossed in the wilderness, so Vitur rocks should be treated the same way.
I support alchables. That'll give there even more of a reason to tax the GE. PvM shouldn't get ANY resources. If they do, then skilling should get PvM drops. The ditch is gonna get endless repolls while sand buckets can pass the first poll and never be implemented. After the ditch passes the 7th poll attempt, it'll be implemented an hour before the poll closes because it's actually important. Deal with it.
