The J-mods recently brought it up in a QnA and most of them are in favour of it. If the amount of money is still a problem you can expect that to be the next thing they go after.

I'd like to see the trading post revisited if they put in the tax.

No support.

Just to preemptively respond to every argument:
It's not an integrity issue.
There are other ways to create gold sinks that work just fine.
There are enough gold sinks already.
OSRS is a state of deflation, not inflation so we don't even need another gold sink.
Taxing the GE will discourage using it and push people towards the inferior trading method.
Player interaction is not necessarily a good thing.
Player trading is not the same as faster XP, so "paying for convenience" is not a valid argument.
The GE isn't "EasyScape."
Quit trying to ruin the GE just because you don't like it.
I'll keep score from now on.

The economy is in fact an integrity issue that's why they don't poll death fees at bosses anymore.

You still haven't named any other methods every idea is shot down.

What gold sinks? Duel arena is the only real gold sink we have which also had to be forced in.

Care to give evidence of OSRS being in deflation because the people running the game who would actually know beg to differ.

G.E. would still be the most efficient method so no people aren't going to just drop it.

Player interaction in an mmo isn't a good thing? Must have missed the mmo part.

Sure is a hell of a lot easier to buy things from G.E then it was to manually trade that's a convenience.

The Grand Exchange is easyscape it made the game easier that's why they call it easyscape.

The tax wouldn't ruin the G.E. it would still be the best method by far and most efficient.

So you want to just waste more of your money for some reason?

No, you're trying to discourage the best option by making it less economically viable to use.

The GE is the best thing to happen to trading in this game. Punishing players for using it is a bad thing.

Repairing Barrows.
Dying at Vorkath.
Dying in the Theatre of Blood.
Dying at the Grotesque Guardians.
Managing Miscellania.
Blast Furnace worlds.
Infinite Camulet charges.
Construction.
Nightmare Zone.
Tolls.
Instance fees.

I'm sure I could think of a few more.
I'll keep score from now on.
