If a scenario came up where Seren and Zaros HAD to fight, who would win in your opinion?

This is something that has often been whispered on the forums, but never has it been discussed in a full-on thread.

Two Tier Two Transcendent Twins. Both divine creations of an Elder God. Who would win in a war?

Rate them by their armies, resources, secret toys, brains, control of the anima mundi, and their sheer on-hand godly magic powers.

The Battlefield:
A desolate, rocky plateau near Trollheim. (So no enchanted forest or home-field advantage of any kind :) )

----------------------
Here is my guess:

--By Army--
Victor: Unknown
Seren's army is more abundant and they are incredibly strong. However, Zaros has only very few remnants of his army left under the lead of Nex. He has desert bandits, which are pretty weak but resourceful I guess, and a couple of demons. His ace cards are probably Nex/Vindicta and Azzanadra, who are capable of beating armies, but Azzy and Nex they can easily be weakened by some funky ritual, which Serenists are good at creating. As for the other Mahjarrat/Char, I wouldn't rely on them too much, as the adventurer has beaten them before without WG powers. Tbh idk who would win, so I will leave it here.

--Resources--
Victor: Seren
Her lands are in close proximity to a high tier wisp colony. The Amlodd could use the wisp to make cool stuff or power up Seren. They could make transport routes to the battlefield and stuff lol. They are also close to the World Gate, have alliances with Saradominist cities, and a warm city to come home to. They are not malnourished from hiding in caves, living in hot deserts, or under ice for so long. Don't forget, the Serenists have magical, shape-shifting crystal too.

--Control of the Anima Mundi--
Victor: Of all, Guthix was the greatest, but now...probably Seren
Whoever has control the planet's soul better can win the war easier right? While all tier 2 gods have some degree of control over the anima mundi, Seren has always been famed for having a spiritual connection with the soul of the earth. Her bond with it is renowned throughout gnomes, elves, and humans. However, we have never seen Zaros openly use his anima-mundi warping powers ever, unless he secretly practiced manipulating it in his castle during his empire-era...

--Toys/Hidden abilities/Secret Gifts--
Victor: Unknown
Ehh, none of them have elder artefacts or special gifts that I can think of.

--Experience in war--
Victor: Zaros.
Zaros would probably create some elaborate plan to sneak attack the Serenist armies. He is a master tactician. As for Seren, she has no experience in fighting and would probably have to gain advice from the Cadarn and Iowerth Leader.

--Sheer power--
Victor: Unknown,
It really depends on your choices in Fate of the Gods and The Light Within. If you crippled Zaros but fully restored Seren, it will factor in a lot. I'm kindaaa leaning towards Seren either way, because she never lost much power upon her destruction. Her crystal body parts still had energy in them and she had Gielinor to feed off on. As for Zaros, he was sapped dry by the Staff of Armadyl and was forced to live off of scraps of his mom's energy (the Muspah).

Winner in total Seren (3-1).

Feel free to add more categories if you think it is needed :D

Personally, I would say that Zaros is the better attacker, but Seren has the better defence. In fact, I would say the same for any gods of darkness (attack) and light (defence). Prepare for hell on RuneScape in Naval Cataclysm!

The answer is beyond obvious. Neither. They'd never even really fight.

Don't you remember Zaros's reaction to us taking Seren to Freneskae? Dude is seriously protective of her.

And have you ever tried using a Zamorak godsword on Seren? She's not exactly fond of the idea of somebody hurting her brother.

Beyond that, they are virtually equal. Both have a strong connection to the Anima Mundi (that's part of being t2). Seren has a larger army, but (aside from Baxtorian) Zaros's remaining forces are individually stronger. And let's not forget, each can make an Edicts barrier if they really wanted to.

If anything, I'd give the slight advantage to Zaros. He's had 2 experiences with personal combat (although one ended poorly) to Seren's 0. His God Wars veterans have had far more experience against god bolstered armies than any known Serenists.

Meanwhile, Seren's forces have literally just finished fighting a long civil war (the ones in the city were essentially frozen in time at the point when the city was reverted to seed form) and have been given autonomy by Seren (plus she feels guilty about what she put them through already, so sending them to war isn't all to palatable). And let's not forget that with the elves having been isolationists for so long and Seren only recently restored, they aren't the most up to date on world affairs.

In reality, however, physical combat is a very unlikely outcome. Given Seren's words during TLW, they are far more likely to simply try to ruin the other's plans. And considering she currently lacks a plan, she can't really lose to Zaros at the moment.

In conclusion:

In the unlikely event that they and their forces actively combat each other, Zaros currently has the advantage.
In the more likely sibling squabbles and plan interference, Seren currently has the advantage.

seren and zaros would kiss and they'd both win. I could argue whether my left or right arm would win in a fight, but that's rather pointless since they'd never fight

if zaros somehow really wanted his army to destroy seren's he'd just have to announce to the world that he's back and half of zamorak's army would join him

Well, I agree with the others that this will probably never happen. You bring up good points, but you've only brought up half the battle. Physical warfare is indeed the most direct and most visible kind of warfare, but you're missing my personal favourite kind of warfare, psychological.
As has already been mentioned, Seren and Zaros have that strange connection given to them by Mah. This would probably squash any potential to come to blows anyway. It's also been pointed out that both of them care much for the other. It's no big secret that next to Sliske, Zamorak is also on "Seren's Serious List of Beings in Need of Meeting Oblivion" for what he did to Zaros; but, if an impasse were to somehow ever be reached.. I think this emotional state of mind would ultimately be the undoing of
Seren
.
I know what you're thinking, "Of course the Zarosian would say Zaros would win." and I won't pretend to have no bias in the situation. I believe we've established by now that Seren and Zaros are but two sides to one coin, almost the exact opposite of the other. Think about how they operate. Seren was enraged at the mere mention of Zamorak or Sliske, she's very emotional, that's her side of the coin; likewise, Zaros is very calculating and logical, almost void of emotional hindrances. That's the key to all this, the emotional hindrances.
I believe Zaros would win for one reason and one reason only.. he's willing to go that far, Seren is not. If it comes down to physical confrontation, I can see Zaros MUCH MORE EASILY than Seren cutting his emotional binds and doing what he believes must be done to ensure his plans succeed. Seren is built too much on emotion, by the time she overcomes that and is able to go all-out against Zaros, Zaros will have long since reached that point.. and it'll be too late.

But that's just the take on it my studying of Psychology tells me would happen. It's not absolute truth.

For those of you that argue that a Zaros x Seren war is highly unlikely, recall that Seren has stated in the TLW cutscene that she will do ANYTHING to stand in Zaros' way of ascending to elder godhood.

"You misunderstand me brother. I cannot stand with you, but I will stand against you. As long as I live, I will stop you from becoming an Elder god."

And as we all know, Zaros really really reeeeaally wants to become an Elder God. Is Zaros' love for Seren strong enough to stop his centuries-long ambitions?

Another question is, does Zaros even really love Seren, or is that the Aura of Love doing all the work? There has been only one cutscene with them together, and they were verbally arguing over family... That isn't love.

It's probably a mix of both. Zaros is aware that the aura of love gives him false and addictive feelings (which he tries to resist and fears a relapse of), and that his aura of loyalty does the same thing for Seren. He then goes on to say that the addictions brewed up resentment between each other that outgrew the addictive feelings.

That being said, however, both Zaros and Seren do actually care for each other as siblings.

Player: Are you happy she's returned?
Zaros:
Yes. Does that surprise you? Whatever we are, however many times we squabble, we are still the closest to family each of us will ever possess. Seeing her whole again means there is hope that we may yet reconcile.

Player: I'd like to ask about Zamorak.
Seren:
He who tried to kill my brother. I have no positive words for him.

Player: But I thought you and Zaros didn't get along?
Seren:
I distrust, despise and sometimes even hate my brother Zaros. But I also love him. Whatever comes between us, whatever trials we face, he is still the only brother I will ever have. So forgive me if I dislike someone trying to take him from me.

The italicised part of what Seren says here highlights the said resentment between the two. But in spite of their differences and shortcomings, they do care for each other as a family. They know about their aura effects, but the base sibling feelings remain.

I agree with Drew, Zaros has legitimate "feelings" for Seren. He rarely ever shows any emotion in his words, but with Seren he has almost a fancy for her. Despite their differences, they are still one in the same. I honestly believe Zaros has a deep respect for Seren, more so than he has for anyone else. A
