So, as a lore forum, we focus a lot of our attention on the current Gods of the universe that we know about. We also spend a lot of time playing "connect the dots" for bits of pieces about Gods that we know little to nothing about, that are hinted to in some way shape or form.

So, my question is simple. Let's forget about the Gods that we know anything about, and think. If you could create any type of God, Goddess, and or Pantheon of Gods, what would it be? Where would they live? What would their roles be in the lore universe, and how would they act around the cast of Gods we have now? (remember, this is purely for fun, so it doesn't have to be limited to anything)

As for me, I would love to see a group of Haitian Vodou spirits, aka Loa, with one main God in control of the group. They would live in the Underworld, and act as a council for matters relating to the dead. Like Death, they can sever souls from the mortal coil. And like Icthlarin, they can ferry souls through their underworlds safely. However, unique to them, they can traverse any version of the afterlife that they please, and they oversee all of the different Underworlds.

The main God would be based off Baron Samedi, with his aesthetic theme revolving around skulls and top hats. A very good, but stern, friend to Death, he was around even before Guthix appointed Herald as the Grim Reaper. Guthix actually took these plans to this council for "approval" of Death's role in the Gielinor Underworld, to enact a fair balance.

The other spirits would range in power, but all of them would be on the scale of T7, with the Baron Samedi God being a weak T3 God (The ability to destroy or construct on a large scale). The unique thing about this pantheon is that they are able to "pool" their powers into one being in times of great need or important rulings. This being would naturally be their leader, Baron Samedi, thus temporarily boosting him to T2 level of Godhood (able to control Anima Mundi and manipulate life).

This stacked effect leaves the other spirits virtually powerless unless Samedi returns these powers, thus making this a very dangerous thing to do. (only in emergency situations)

An example of one of the times a T2 God was needed, and voted to combine powers by the council, was when one of the Underworlds was almost collapsed, thus killing it out completely. Samedi used the combine strength to destroy the "virus" attached to that Underworld, and returned it to it's natural state. After that, he returned the energy back to his fellow council members.

How would this pantheon be used in the 6th age? Simple, they would hear about how the player stopped the false god Gielinor from destroying an Underworld, and task him/her with going to stop a similar threat in another, distant, underworld.

Idk, maybe I put to much thought into this thread so far, but I just really want to see a Haitian Vodou God/Goddess lol.

Careful! Syrus Coy will find this thread...

Anyways to be honest, Jagex has covered many types of gods already. Middle-Eastern, Western, African/tribal. It would be hard to come up with a group of gods based off of somewhat known deities, without copying the ones we have already in game.

But if basing gods off of known ones is not the point, then I would like a God who is dangerous, chaotic, unpredictable. Think Bandos, Zaros, and Zamorak combined. Id all him...

BANZAMAK!

Brilliant name.

Also those ideas sound cool, I admit.

Lesarkus and Ikov would be the first 2 I'd create. They'd be dead now killed by Bandos after he arrived on Gielinor. Lesarkus would have held territory around the Yanille area, Ilov around the Ardougne and Seer's Village area. They would both have been tier 5 and in an Alliance with Armadyl (giving him some reason to believe peace between gods can be achieved). Ikov would be the God of Giants (though I lean towards him being seen more as a prophet than a god by them) and Lesarkus a god of humans acting very much in a Kingly position. These followers would have followed Armadyl following their demise. After seeing Bandos modify his troops for different terrain Armadyl would use the staff to imbue the elements into Giants and Humans created the various Elemental Giants and the Warriors of Lesarkus (though only a fire warrior exists to this day and would have been created recently by the Guardians of Armadyl).

Then I would create 2 additional Sea Gods. I haven't given too much thoughts to these but I am leaning towards 1 being symbolised by the moon a sort of God sailors would pray to. Probably both also tier 5. Not sure if they are alive or dead.

Then I'd create the Camel God as somebody who fought against Tumeken and lost in the 2nd age and is thus dead and a god in what is now Morytania who fought against Saradomin and post in the 2nd age. Possibly another God to the far north which is now the Wilderness too. Also all tier 5.

I would then remove the notion of the Karamja God and simply make them worship Saradomin, Guthix and Zamorak but under different names and we different rituals.

I would remove V______ as a god too if I could and create an animal based Fremmy pantheon of the Kendal, s wolf and more.

Lady Luck. A sentient manifestation of chance, directing the flow of fortune according to her mercurial whims.

If you've ever read Discworld, pretty much the same concept. Perhaps a little less self-conscious about her name, though.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

A quartet of Gods/Goddesses (2 male, 2 female) that each associate with one of the 4 basic elemental runes: Fire, Earth, Water, Air.
It'd be a nice twist too, since apparently magic is somehow related to the Elder Gods, according to what we were told in Heart of Stone. Maybe they could tie into the Elder Gods storyline somehow, if they existed?

Nah JK, but I thought for a while he would've ended up a young god after what happened in Path of Glouphrie and Arposandra.

Personally, I'd probably expand the Fremennik Pantheon. Asides V, who is aesthetically similar to Odin and Všin*mŲinen and fulfills the need for a hero god, the god of magic and possibly the warrior god, there are a handful of deities that the Fremennik Pantheon could cover based on Germanic and Finnic religions.

Karamjan deities would probably be next. I'd imagine there are three of them, and that they're inspired mainly by Vodou and Western African religions, although other Sub-Saharan African religions and South/Meso-American religions could be used as a source material as well.

Camel God would also be something I'd love to see in the game. I'd assume she's the deity of various nomad tribes of the Kharidian Desert and a deity who could be focused around the metaphorical "hearth" and family: a uniting, caring, benevolent force in the harshess of the desert.

Then there are the various God Wars-era deities who fought against other gods and eventually either died or were forced to leave. I'd imagine that Gielinor is a lot larger than we currently know, so I'd imagine the gods fought over multiple continents, with some gods focusing on a single continent, while others spread their influence across the entire globe.

Finally, there would probably be a lot of deities who never visited Gielinor and instead have been doing their own business across the rest of the universe. We know according to V that there are about half a dozen other hero gods, so I'd expect that there are plenty of gods who have never been to Gielinor and instead focus their matters on another worlds. I'd imagine that if about 20 "true" gods have been on Gielinor at one point, then there could be multiple times that many gods in the entire universe, perhaps about 100 in total, including the dead ones.

I've had this idea in my mind for a long time about an ascended shapeshifting dragoness, ruler and protector of the eastern lands. And her name would be Raki, a tier 4-5 god.
Beneath her there'd be a host of nature deities, too weak to be gods, but stronger than mortals in their own element(s). This is based on shintoist beliefs.

Would also love to see a demon god or two, but that may be the case with Xau-Tak.
