for me, this is all very annoying. Nex was powerful, azzanadra was powerful. But then the gods come back and dwarf their power levels and suddenly everyone needs to level up to keep up

I wanted to see azzanadra fight something that you know to be scary powerful and win, and then you're all amazed ...like yeah, everybody's been saying you're powerful but till now there hasn't really been any proof

but no, this comes along and basically says 'old azzanadra, you were a weakling, have some welfare power because in this new world your old power level is a joke'

the nex you fight in the gwd is a weakened nex, and I sort of assumed this angel of death thing was just going to be nex at her real full power again

(also, I'm 14 quests behind and I really need to avoid this forum but... I ned it... so much :( )

It also establishes that Nex was imprisoned in her palace rather than just a random icy cave (indicating a controlled retreat as opposed to being outright forced out of position) and that Saradominists once again built over a preexisting Zarosian structure.
If I'm not mistaken, the lore people have known both those things for years

It is funny that so much discussion is about the shadow leviathans since I considerd including them but thought this thread should focus more on Nex. I do agree that it is interesting that there are creatures living in the shadow realm and that Zaros doesn't want to confront one of them. I doubt we will meet a creature like that though.

It seems that the gods are not such a big deal after all. A few years ago we thought a god was near unstoppable but now it seems even a tier 2 god has a monster he doesn't want to mess with.
"there's always a bigger fish"
(darth jar-jar uses the force to possess the bigger fish and makes it eat the smaller but still gigantic one that's chasing them)

in the rest of the gods' defence, zaros barely wanted to confront loarnab
