Here is why:

One of the dialogue options from Death told us how Zaros would "die" when he was mortal. For Zaros it said he would feel "burning as hot as a star, and then a giant blackness". This is the hint.

This statement goes to something Jas said at the end. Jas said no matter how bright the flame Zaros can never burn as hot as a star. I guess Death proved this statement untrue. This leads me to believe he will become an elder god, if only for a little while.

What do you guys think?

Ugh I get a bit confused about Death's premonition abilities.

Didn't he declare something like he couldn't know their fates before because the gods' souls were too powerful (or was it just' un-reapable')?

So ok. while they got mortal souls their fates may be known, but as soon as they get back to divinity, wouldn't any external interferences break up his readings entirely?

He said he see's teh gods death, something he couldn't do due to the fact they have no soul. Death is able to see into a person's future and witness their death, but they cannot control that fate, something Guthix made limited when he became a guardian. Zaros will die, How and when is unknown, maybe he will die by the elder gods, annoyed by him, or maybe he will die by us

One thing for sure, Seeing how we are not representing mortals, something he wanted to do will probably have him use us more than ever now.

He declared he cannot kill a person if their time has not come, nor can he save them.

he stated that he can see how they will die, due to them finally having souls. Meaning they will still die the same way. He just cannot see when and how any more as they are no longer mortals again.

What's interesting is that Jas is able to do this alone.

Sounds more like he's going to die trying. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

I'm fairly certain that the immense power between tier one and two is just too much for him so he just explodes after that first "AHAHAHAHAH JA JA DAS IST WUNDERBAR!!"

The line wasn't that Zaros couldn't burn as hot as a star, it was "No matter how hot a flame burns, it will never be a star".

Which is true. You could make a fire as large and as hot as a star, but it wouldn't be a star even then, because a star is more than just a giant burning flame.

I'm thinking Jas wasn't the only one to lay an egg.

He can certainly continue his goal, and there are at least 4 more chances.

I wonder what he's gone looking for though?

That sounds more like a good old fashioned smiting to me.

They're talking about his death though, so it sounds more like he's going to die trying.
