With the revelation of Verac being a closeted Zamorakian, torn between worshipping the deity of his preference or sharing in the bond of brotherhood via Saradominism with his family, it's sparked a bit of interest into the potential relation this has on his title the Defiled.

There's a few ways to interpret how this applies to Verac, depending on the emphasis one would place on the world "defiled". Perhaps he has sullied his family's honour by supporting the rival deity, perhaps he's defiled his own self by choosing to hide the truth rather than embrace it. All in all, it may make a bit more sense as to why he has been dubbed Verac the Defiled.

But what about the others?

Dharok the Wretched - Perhaps Sliske decreed him wretched based on his past as a bully to his family and village?

Guthan the Infested - Is this an infestation of guilt? Guthan may have been so consumed with guilt over his actions against Jaycliff and for being the one to accept Sliske's offer that his guilt festers his mind like a disease.

Ahrim the Blighted- In the meaning of the word as a disease, an infection, something that causes decay; was Sliske toying with Ahrim's faith in Saradomin as being this blight? Or is Ahrim the blight himself, for doing some heinous actions against his brothers (well, Guthan)?

Torag the Corrupted - Given how we didn't get a backstory on him, perhaps he doesn't have any skeletons in the closet. If so, maybe he's just simply corrupted by Sliske's curse. Nothing more, nothing less.

Karil the Tainted - Same as Torag.

What are your thoughts? Have you given any thought to the way the Barrows Brothers are named after the revelations in Kindred Spirits?

Do note that Linza's title seems fairly obvious, and Akrisae's title may not bear much hidden/additional meaning considering he wasn't even intended to become a Barrows wight. I'm under the impression Akrisae is simply doomed to his fate as a Barrows wight, not a whole lot of context other than he's a poor soul now in Sliske's grasp.

Of course, since it was something intended for us, it'd be interesting to imagine just what title Sliske would have given us had he succeeded in wight-ifying us.
