I want to believe that Xau-Tak has had these interactions with the Dragonkin in the previous world cycles, as the murals seem to depict.

I don't believe that the events represented on the murals took place in Gielinor's current cycle.

Just a theory.

Same. I believe they happened in the previous universal cycle. The Dragonkin being brought to Gielinor and the current cycle by Xau-Tak could fit with them "escaping into the abyss" to avoid the last revision fits. Xau has already transcended time on numerous occasions. Playing around with universal cycles shouldn't be much of an issue for him.

Its all theory. There is some evidence to support it but none to confirm it. The Mwanu being the horrors is also theory.

But the observed horrors are:

A.) Not very intelligent
B.) Do not build massive structures like those described by the mwanu in the journal
C.) Worship 4 deities, the Mwanu only ever mention worshiping one.
D.) Ape like in appearance. While the Mwanu seem to hate the ape creatures/monkeys of the jungle.

The Dragonkin however are:

A.) Very intelligent. They can speak their own language and the common tongue
B.) Have been observed to build huge impressive structures.
C.) Do not seem to worship a deity but have had a run in with some stone hands at one point.
D.) Show a superiority like nature to everything they encounter.

The theory goes that the Mwanu are actually the Dragonkin and the Horrors are their prey/enemies which were the apes/monkeys of the Jungles of Jermyn.

it's also theory that the Horrors are devolved Mwanu, after xau-tak was angrered at them for loosing against the 'god of tusk and fury' I'm also pretty sure that the horrors were observed to be the Remnants of a civillisation, and that the cave horror cave is a ruin.

Certainly possible. But what we know of the Mwanu they fit more closely with Modern Dragonkin. Where what we know of the horrors fits more closely with the Apes of the Jungle that the Mwanu hunted. Mwanu are not given any specific physical descriptions just descriptions of their actions. They could be dragonkin before being brought to the current universal cycle. They could also be pre-devoluted horrors. We wont know for certain until provided with more information or a J-Mod confirms.

I wonder still to this day what
V
's knowledge of XT was.
What did he see? What incident did he have with the tendrils or what experience did he have to know they were on Gielinor.

He saw dead worlds corrupted by Xau-Tak. Corpse oceans can be interpreted as piles of dead bodies or literal oceans with corpse like creatures in it. A la Zombie pirates. He likely examined enough of these worlds to notice a pattern and sees the same patterns being repeated on Gielinor with the reanimated creatures of the eastern lands or...the destructive presence of the dragonkin who coincidentally enough, killed V.

The Mwanu claim that their superiority to the apes and monkeys comes from the gifts Tezcasathla gave them. These gifts were:

Tezcasathla's blood.
Spears and Axes.

Now I don't know about you, but I'd suspect any creation myth of the Dragonkin that details gifts bestowed upon their race that make them superior to apes/monkeys to include:

Their fire breath.
Their ability to fly.

This theory also doesn't address how the dragonkin were bound to Jas's stone, since Jermyn would need to be from a prior revision (given what we know of Dragonkin HIstory), while Jas would have already been asleep by the time the Mwanu were brought to Gielinor.

Meanwhile, on the Mwanu = Horrors side, we have:

The central Horror god being the same as the singular Mwanu god indicating that the Horror religion developed from the Mwanu religion.
The journals explicitly written by Mwanu in the possession of Horrors with but one exception (which was in the possession of a guy who had lugged around a skull the cave horrors apparently found sacred-ish (they made their masks in its image).
The Horrors being ape-like, which (given that the Tezcasathla was a creation myth that Xau-Tak later impersonated) is a form that we know could arise on Jermyn as per the existence of apes and monkeys (likely having evolved alongside them from a common ancestor).
The Mwanu emerging on a tropical island like those of the Eastern Sea where Horrors are found.

There's also the issue of the Dragonkin already having a name for themselves in their native language Drakkerkin (not Mwanu) and the murals referring to Kranon, Roakin, and Skekkin (no Mwanu). The murals also depict Dragonkin being taken by black hands (whereas the Mwanu were only beckoned).

The last mural says:

Vek... Skek... Chen... Ulthven... Fia...

Vek means failure.
Skek seems to mean dead (see The Mather1's thread on this)
Chen means raze.
Ulthven is the name of the underwater temple we fought Jack in (Xau-Tak as the cosmic kitten tells you as muh).
Fia means safe.

As such, this mural indicates that they failed to stop the Roakin and Skekkin (from the prior mural), and razed Ulthven to save themselves from the threat (the portal in the center of Ulthven being the one Kranon opened in the murals). This would indicate that events in the murals happened while the Dragonkin were on Gielinor and were the reason that Ulthven ended up beneath the waves.

Zaros mentions that the dragonkin likely sought out Jas hoping for penance and were bound to the stone instead. After coming out of the Abyss. The Mwanu were given the first tools to hold domain over the "Apes, monkeys, and gorillas of the jungle." Tez's blood could very well be dragon fire since Tez is described as having a firey gaze.
