This thread is to consolidate the lore we gained from the 5 Lore Books released today.
Strap yourselves in lads. This is about to get weird.

JERMYN:

Jermyn is apparently, according to the Decaying Journal, is the homeworld of the Horrors, or the Mwanu, Apes, Gorillas and Monkeys. "...for raising up the Mwanu, above the lesser species, the apes and monkeys that infest the jungles of Jermyn."

The Horrors claim in the journals that they were created first, before the other inhabitants of Jermyn, by Tezcasathla, but it is heavily implied that this is just another name for... Xau-Tak.

In the Rotten Journal, it is a first-hand account of "A great beast of Tusk and Fury, armed with a great Horn that turns the jungle against us" invading Jermyn. Now, this could be one of two things. Either Tuska invaded Mwanu, and that is where the Airut, who are remarkably Ape-Like, originate. Or, it could be the God that Marimbo defeated in a drinking contest, as that God had the Elder HORN.

Later in the journal, this 'Mwanu' claims to have had his tribe transported to another world by Xau-Tak/Tezcasathla. This is probably Gielinor. We know this because Jermyn is described to have two suns, like eyes, which are believed to be Xau-Tak's, and the realm they teleported to only had one sun, like Gielinor.

THE MWANU DIETIES:

The Mwanu, in the Pestilent Journal, have Four Dieties, Tezcasathla, Uzhastur, Yogsathla and Nyarlahydra.

Tezcasathla is the main diety of the Mwanu (Horrors), and they are greatly hinted to be Xau-Tak themself. Uzhastur is almost a mother-goddess, the Mwanu offer great quantities of fish to this diety daily, apparently. Yogsathla is different, he is feared by the Mwanu, almost like their Devil-figure. It's name is described to be a curse-word. Nylarhydra, is probably the most recognisable. Do you know why? Because, it is described in the Pestilent journal, to be shown as a Skeletal Figure, with a great skull wearing a massive black mask made from black stone.

(Cont..)

Yes that's right. Nylarhydra is the Skeletal Horror, or at least the Horror is Nylarhydra's avatar.

Now, on to Marimbo. If what the journals say is correct, then Marimbo was born on Jermyn, with the other apes and gorillas and Mwanu people. This means that the "Great beast of Tusk and Fury" could be the god Marimbo defeated, as it has a Horn that could control the jungles. So, Marimbo might have led the Gorillas and Monkeys to Gielinor after Xau-Tak 'saved' his people from that God Marimbo defeated by bringing the Mwanu to Gielinor too.

Now isn't that interesting? I think we will be let on to the secret that is Xau-Tak and his Followers...

(DISCALIMER- I am aware of the Xau-Tak thread, and i am going to make it clear that this post is for the Lore Books released today alone. I just thought it would make more sense to post seperately on this topic of the Mwanu homeworld.)

I thought the skeletal horror was literally a bunch of different bones that we helped put together rather than an original creature in itself, but I guess I wouldn't be surprised to hear that there was something acting as a blueprint or inspiration or whatever for its design at some point. At the very least it wasn't totally random in how that thing worked.

Can't say much more until I read the lore books for myself, so profiling I guess :|
^+^ Antediluvian of the Draculesti Bloodline ^+^

The skull was unique, the Odd Old Man found it on Mos Le'Harmless and it instructed him to rebuild it with different types of bones.

Presumably the bones in the lorebook are not the actual skeletal horror, since it was on Mos Le'Harmless and its skull looks different.

To be completely honest i might have worded that wrong, i think the Entity that 'controls' the Skeletal Horror is Nylarhydra, but it does so through the Skull, as that is the original part of it's Totem, or statue in the lore book.

The skull described in the lorebook is a Horror skull wearing a black mask. The actual Skeletal Horror's skull is a horror skull SHAPED like a black mask. So likely that the book described an imitation of the real thing.

Yeah alot of interesting info this time, but also alot of questions

So we now have another jungle world called jermyn, home world of the apes some of which turned into horrors/ mwanu. I had thought maybe the apes where from naragun cus the naragi are very monkey like but i guess not, unless this is another name for naragun (possible?). We also know this world had more than 1 sun and a black lake in a jungle where xau tak slept for a while. It seems at some point tuska came to this world so its possible it could be the home world of the airut too

I'm just trying to figure out which planet jermyn is. It could either be another name for naragun, the body rune planet (though think thats more likely the giants homeworld) or possibly the death rune planet given xau tak is all about death and horrors. Would of expected the homeworlds of the apes to be more friendly looking but ohh well. Or it could be a moon of another world but theres nothing to say that atm

I guess more interestingly is the info on xau tak himself this time around. Weirdly he actually sounds like an elder god now cus he was there at the planets birth and he was making life. Could he be the 6th, is this poetic licencing or was that time a jagex artist posted the old picture of bik as "xau tak" mean something?

He also seems to have made lesser deities, i'm thinking this is similar to the tumeken and the 4 lesser gods of the desert pantheon. And we may possibly have gotten a description of him, though thats difficult to say

I still think he originally came from leng though, probably came to jermyn and then renmark then gilenor. At this point i'm hoping he shows up at the end of the pirate finale and becomes the next big bad after sliske

Jermyn/Bonobia is Marimbo's home planet, first talked about back in the Cabbage Facepunch event.
