Its highly hinted that the thief who did all the kidnappings or stealings is a vampyre. Its been hinted multiple times and even Ned's wife hinted it might be. The description is black talons/claws and wings, we also know pure blooded vampyres can cross the salve. So its also possible it might even be Vanescula and her fate in the sixth age after the events of R.o.B. It has power to make an entire room go pitch black and remove all light in an instant, as Vanstrom has shown to be capable of during a boss fight.

Sounds like a rouge Armadyl to me, collecting supplies to protest the constant delays of Rite of Passage. Wake me up when Osborne resigns | Will not be renewing membership until Jagex deals with its toxic developer culture & has a new, better lead designer | *Soon TM” is not a fun joke, it is an admission the company is an embarrassment

Probably ends up being Raunton (or whatever the name is of the one under the Draynor Sewers).
Everything that's been stolen so far is basic stuff.
If you've been living like a hermit for a long time, and you know past human prejudices against vampires, you might take a route like this to get the things and stuff you want.

Probably a good indicator to not mess with the quiet ones.

I didn't think vyres had talons. Sounds more like an Aviansie to me. Stupid non-sentient animal probably didn't know any better. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Obvious it is me.

Prejudices? Vampyres are (or were?) a legitimate threat to the living. Speaking of that guy, though... WIth him being all the way over in Misthalin, he's got no access to the cure, and probably hasn't even heard of it. We should be able to get him some of the potion and restore his humanity as part of some post-quest content or something. Could even be a little sad if it turns out Draynor turned him centuries ago and everyone and everything he loved is long dead.

Since the event has heavy ties to the Eastern Lands, I'd consider it more likely that the robber is a Sky Orphan. (Or a bladewing, but I got the impression that bladewings aren't sapient. Though I could be wrong about that.)

My bet is a griffin, under the rather meta logic that in the BTS for this month they talked about releasing a griffin costume and it would merely be continuing a trend of releasing costumes to match the release of content. Not to mention a griffin would meet the discription we have thus far of the thief, with emphasis on the talons.

I think you've made a critical error here, I'm sorry Pad*menes.

The first mistake that I believe you are making is that you are not recognizing that you have tied together two different storylines, and culprits, that are present in the meg-a-may event.

The culprit that is theorized to have wings, talons, and have the ability to suck the light out of the air is from the "Robber from the Darkness" storyline. The culprit who stole from Ned is from the "The Eastern Mystery" storyline. From what I have heard, each storyline was given to a different set of people to work on.

Now, of course, it is quite possible that the culprit from both storylines is one and the same. However, let me tell you why they probably are not.

-Firstly, the culprit (For future reference, lets call him C1) from the "The Eastern Mystery" has been targeting people who are in close quarters to the ocean because he utilized a boat. The culprit (C2) from "Robber from the Darkness" has been targeting people all over. Most notably in Varrock, which is extremely far from a boat.

-Secondly, C1 is extremely careful not to cover up C1s footprints . C2, on the other hand, has wings so c2 wouldn't even leave footprints if they wanted too.

-In the case of the theft of Ned's rope, the C1 climbed a tree to reach the second, or first if you're British, floor of Ned's house. If C1 was C2 this would not make much sense as C2 would be able to reach the window by flying.

-In the most recent case (Day 13), we theorize that Skippy is acting as local knowledge for C1. C2 is targeting as far as Varrock, so Skippy's knowledge would be useless for C2.

So in conclusion, Ned's wife probably wasn't hinting at C2 being a vampyre.

That being said, I think C2 could definitely be a vampyre. My only qualm would be that I'm pretty sure no colour was specified about the wings or the claws.
