The godsword is going to be released next Monday in a game update I believe. The tradable godsword will be a drop from the new GWD2 boss Telos, which is a new boss also to be released on Monday.

That's all we know about it. If you want to see a picture of what it will look like visually as well as the stats, you can find it on Reddit.

As for the lore of how it came to be, we won't know until it is released in-game (or if it even has lore to begin with.)
I worship Mah, for she is mah homegirl! The correct adjective for Mah's followers are: Mahomies, Mah-homeboys, or Mah-homegirls.

The Zaros 'godsword' is set to be a t92 2h sword created from 2 drops from the soon to be released boss, Telos.

Telos is an anima construct much like Vorago, Yakamaru, and Xina**to. As the being generated to protect physical collection point for all of Gielinor's anima, it stands to reason that just about anything that's been in prolonged proximity to him will have absorbed and demonstrate some fraction of the Heart's power. This would be the first drop.

The second drop is likely just something faction specific to attune the first drop to the given faction. Essentially, it would direct the raw power of the first item.

Of course, this is all speculation since Telos isn't out yet.

There isn't really any lore regarding Zaros godsword yet. But I think it's safe to say that it has nothing to do with the godswords from the God Wars Dungeon.

If they do add lore to the Zaros Godsword, it also means they would also have to add lore to the Seren Godbow and Staff of Sliske.

I'm more interested in the Seren Godbow than the two others.

Godbow.

Can it kill a God like a godsword or godspear? Do/Can other gods have their own set of godbows? Is there a godstaff? Is it this "Staff of Sliske?"

And the 'actual' godsword was a blade supposedly created by the aviansie that was:

1. Strong enough to kill a god with 'relative' ease (easier than stabbing them in the face a few million times with an anima charged spear)
2. Would be further empowered and tuned by a specially made hilt(s)
3. Was lost during the chaos of the battle within the Temple of the Lost Ancients

I see two possibilities.

1. We know that the true godsword blade is missing and that Nex was released and subsequently recontained at some point before the dungeon froze over. We also know that Nex eventually escaped once again when the adventurer uncovered Guthix's resting place. Is it not possible that Nex and her forces took the actual god sword blade, and, during her response to the discovery of Guthix's resting place, ran into Vindicta and her forces (also initially responding to the discovery) and passed off the godsword blade to her (potentially only trusting her due to recognizing Gorvek).

Vindicta could have then commissioned a hilt for the sword (from the same person(s) that provide gear for her army), but without Zaros there to empower it, it remained inactive. The inactive blade would have then been lost in the chaos during the initial attempt to claim the Heart to the anima below, only to resurface with Telos' appearance.

2. Vindicta, having heard tales of the legendary godsword had the most talented craftsmen in her forces attempt to create a weapon of equal power (with the intention of using some part of the Heart's power to empower it). This would essentially put her in a similar position to Graardor post TMF, needing such a powerful weapon to be able to stand up not only to the armies of the other gods but to the gods themselves (since she doesn't seem to know that Zaros has returned if you did Fot*).
