IMPORTANT UPDATE
-------
For now, with the new forum update, please post on our thread which is located in the Free 1000+ forum, that way we all keep on the same page, and there is no confusion.
-----
Welcome to:
*****************************************************
THE ACHIEVERS UNITED + ADVICE GUIDE
*****************************************************
Hey all:) We're back and rarin' to go. Some of you may remember us, some of you may not, but we are the "Achievers United". We're not a clan, but rather a group of people who have all set goals for ourself, and have chosen to work together to achieve them by way of supporting each other.
Our main goal is to set up a community that you all wish to be part of, a community that will help make completing your goals easier, and make the boredem bugs fly away;) You all know what those pesky bugs are like, sometimes they grab on to you and don't like to let go.
Well, we're here to help you shake them lose, and keep you motivated. We know that goals are no fun when you are going for them alone. We want you to know you aren't alone and that there are a group of people out there who are ready to support you on the forums and ingame.
So whether you are an avid thread maker, or not, you are welcome to share your goals here, and who knows, you may even find a friend to go on the journey with.
Here you can share with others, your tips and strategies to completing a goal, your goals and achievements, anytime you are feeling down and need support. You can share how you completed your journey and whatever else on this topic that floats your boat:)
We know how hard it is to get support sometimes, so we thought we might band together and help make our journeys something to remember.

THREAD RULES
################
1) You may not post on behalf of another account. Your goals must be for the account you are posting with.
2) You may state that you have a thread and give the quickfind code here to be placed on the thread library.
3) *IMPORTANT* You may not bring ingame issues to this thread, this includes problems that occur in chat. What happens ingame has nothing to do with this thread here.
4) You must not ask me to take care of forum issues here. You may, however, ask for a title change on this thread, providing your thread is a G&A thread. I will provide a template for that as well.
5) No Negative comments please, only posts that are meant to motivate and uplift others
6) No asking to be ranked.
And the obvious, all jagex rules must be followed;)

CLAN CHAT INFORMATION
#######################
Hey all:)
We would also like to invite you to use our clan chat ingame:
Username: Accepted3
Sometimes certain goals don't allow you to surf the forums, due to the constant clicking, and we've found that having a clan chat ingame helps keep us entertained as we skill, even if we can't always type.
It is also a great way to receive support while you are training and definitely helps beat the boredom bugs.
##########################
The Four Be's - Clan Chat Rules
##########################
1) Be Kind
2) Be Respectful
3) Be Supportive
4) Be Appropriate
---
All the rules revolve around these three. If the four "Be's" are followed, you won't be stung. Hehe okay, lame I know, but please keep the feelings of others in mind when you access the chat.
It doesn't matter how long a person has been in chat, we expect all to remember these rules. Even the chat captains/generals are not above the rules.
Biggest of all though, please follow Jagex rules. I know this goes without saying, but it would be best to read them over if you haven't yet, as I'd hate to see anyone get in trouble.
Thanks all
Acc

#######################
CLAN CHAT SYSTEM - PLEASE READ
#######################
As you know from above, our chat will be based on four rules; these rules will not be treated lightly. If you are found being rude, or disruptive, or even arguing with a clan chat enforcer’s decision, we will boot you from the chat.
If a blatant rule has been broken, or someone has been rude/disruptive/insulting, the chat enforcers are *NOT* required to give them a warning before they boot, unless they feel the player would benefit from the warning. Due to previous issues that have arisen, the clan chat enforcers are no longer required to state why a player has been booted from chat in public, nor will they discuss it with people in the chat, unless they choose to do so.
Everyone already knows there is no reason to be rude, inconsiderate or disruptive towards other people. If we feel that you are not aware of what you have done wrong, we may give a second chance before we boot, especially if you are new to chat.
We understand that players like to joke around with each other, but other players in the chat may not understand that you are joking, and we cannot guarantee that you will not be reported for making an inappropriate joke.
All joking and conversation must be kept appropriate at all times.
----
If someone is booted, the chat enforcers will let me know who and why. And depending on how serious the offense was, we may issue a temporary ban or permanent ban from chat as well.

-------------
JAGEX RULES
-------------
Apart from the rules I've listed above, you need to keep Jagex own rules as well. If you do something in chat that *IS* reportable, you will likely be removed from the clan chat, unless its somewhat minor. So please ensure that you are aware of Jagex ingame rules.
---------------------------
I'VE BEEN BOOTED, WHAT NOW?
---------------------------
There are two reasons why you may have been booted
1) Accidental - sometimes when our clan chat has spammers, the odd person may accidentally get booted as a result of them popping in and out of chat. This shouldn't happen often, but if it does, have no fear, the boot only lasts an hour and you won't get in trouble Our apologies if it does happen. If you know for sure you didn't do anything, you can be 100% sure that you fall in this category, and I wouldn't worry.
2) You've broken a rule - If you have been booted as a result of breaking a rule, please do not contact members of the chat to try and find out why you were booted, it will be fairly obvious. Asking players to discuss it in chat often disrupts the whole chat. The boot is only for an hour, and if it goes by peacefully, you will more than likely be allowed to re-enter the chat.
When you are allowed to re-enter chat, please do not bring up the issue, nor go after the enforcer that booted you. Arguing will not help your cause, nor will insulting them, and may likely get you a temporary ban from chat. The best thing to do is simply start fresh, as there are other people in the chat that should not have to be subject to your frustrations.
If you are truly unsure as to why you were booted, once the Chat enforcer lets me know who was booted and why, I will more than likely contact you myself to discuss it. However, please do not expect the conversation to last long if you deny doing anything and all you can do is rant about power abuse.
Please be mature and take responsibility for your actions.

----------------------
CLAN CHAT JUMPERS
----------------------
If a player is purposely disrupting the clan chat by jumping in and out and making inappropriate comments, we will boot them and give a permanent ban. It is disruptive and not necessary.
If you notice this happening when a clan chat enforcer is not online, please do not respond to the jumper, simply place them on your ignore list. If they are being offensive, please be sure to report them as well
-----------------------
OFFENSIVE USER NAMES
-----------------------
If a player enters the chat with an offensive username, they will receive an immediate boot without any explanation. Offensive names are not necessary nor are they welcome.
If you have a main account in the chat, and chose to disrupt the chat with an offensive name, and it is discovered that it was you that created it, you will be banned from entering the chat.
-----------------------------
RETALIATING TO RULE-ENFORCERS
-----------------------------
While we do understand that sometimes you feel that bans/warnings are unfairly given, we do ask that you do not discuss it in chat, nor insult or make sarcastic remarks to the enforcer that gave the warning, especially if it wasn't you that was given the warning.
What happens between a chat enforcer and another player is between them, and myself, getting yourself involved will make the situation worse and more than likely get yourself in trouble as well.
If someone makes an insulting or rude remark to the enforcer you will more than likely get booted as well, as comments like that are not needed.
If you simply inquire about the boot, you will be told that we do not discuss it in chat, and if any further comments are made on it, we may issue a warning. Any contination after a warning will result in a boot.
This is to help keep the peace in chat.
If a group of players choose to disrupt the chat after another player has been booted, they will receive a temporary ban.

-------------------
DISRUPTING CLAN CHAT FLOW
-------------------
Here I will attempt to explain what kind of messages we dislike in clan chat.
Two line Ascii art is okay in moderation of course. If you do it 3-4 times in a row, or fairly close together you will receive a warning.
If an indivdiual makes 4-5+ posts saying the same thing over and over, you will more than likely be asked to stop, such as:
HI@@@@@
HI@@@@@
HI*@@@@
or
^
^
^
^
If you sing a song in chat and post numerous lines of it, something which disrupts the flow of chat, you will be asked to stop.
Any posts that are made to be disruptive or annoying, like inappropriate comments, are not welcome.
------------------------------------
CAN I ACT LIKE A CHAT ENFORCER?
------------------------------------
Please do not act like a chat enforcer. If everyone in chat jumps on a player it can be very intimidating and make a situation worse. We ask that you leave the enforcing to the 'clan chat enforcers'.
If there is no clan chat enforcer in the chat at the time of the incident, please ignore it, do not respond to that player.
If the player is super disruptive, please add them to your ignore and encourage others to do the same. You can write their name down and what they were doing wrong; Then, as soon as a clan chat enforcer enters chat, please ask to speak with them privately about it, incase the user is still in chat.
Also, if they break Jagex rules, please report them.

###############################
ACHIEVERS DISCIPLINARY ACTION *NEW*
###############################
Here you will see a list of the actions we'll take in chat should rules be broken. I will be keeping track of all the boots, and reasons for the boots.
-------------------------------
WARNINGS
-------------------------------
If a general, or I, issue out a warning in chat, please do not argue with it in public, rather, please heed the warning. Should players argue or cause disruption in the chat due to a warning, we will boot.
*Warnings are not required to be given, but are left at the sole discretion of the General, if they feel someone may benefit from it. Previous offenders might not receive any warnings*
-------------------------------
ONE HOUR BOOT
-------------------------------
This has been touched on already, but if anyone is found being disruptive, and rude in chat, or breaking chat or Jagex rules, you may receive a boot from chat.
-------------------------------
A ONE WEEK CHAT BAN *NEW*
-------------------------------
If you have been booted from chat three times for being disruptive, you will receive a one week chat ban.
If players are found breaking the thread rules, they may also receive a week ban at my discretion. Please remember that the thread is separate from ingame issues and they shouldn't be discussed here.
Week bans may occur if I feel the offense is severe enough, even without prior boots.
*This doesn't include accidental chat bans;)*
-------------------------------
MONTH CHAT BAN *NEW*
-------------------------------
If after you return from a one week ban, you continue being disruptive and are booted 3 times, you will receive a one month chat ban.
-------------------------------
PERM CHAT BAN
-------------------------------
Should you continue being disruptive after, you will be perm banned from chat. We're here to be supportive and kind to others, not be rude or cause disruption by making rude jokes, etc
continued..

-------------------------------
SECONDARY ACCOUNTS
-------------------------------
If you have received a ban, or a boot, we ask that you do not enter the chat with secondary accounts. Should this be discovered the secondary account will be booted as well.
If players hassle the chat with a secondary account after receiving a boot, the boot will turn into a week ban. For the length of the ban, or for the length of the boot, please do not enter the chat with any account.
#########################
CLAN CHAT ENFORCERS
#########################
We are still trying to update this section, but at the moment you will notice we have some players in chat who are gold stars.
Gold stars are the generals of the chat. They were selected to help keep the peace in chat, and have the ability to boot if need be.
-----
GENERALS
---------
If you boot a player, please write their name down and what exactly they did, and then let me know when I log in next. Also, please let me know if any other generals were in the chat at the time of the booting.
For the most part, I ask that you use your judgment when booting a player. Feel free to warn them if you think it will help, especially if its a new face to chat. Otherwise, just go by the above guidelines that I've written for clan chat members.

MINI SKILL GUIDE
######################
This will take a while to orgnaize, so in the meantime, feel free to share your thoughts on the best ways to level various skills in the game and I'll be happy to try and integrate them into this section:)
Achievers are more than welcome to share with us how they managed to get 99 in these skills.
****************
AGILITY
****************

****************
CONSTRUCTION
****************
One of the most popular ways people achieve 99 Construction is either by making Oak Larders, or Oak Dungeon doors. From level 80, you need about 185k oak planks. The cost is: 101,750,000.
The way to do this is take noted planks to your house, and be sure to either have a butler or demon butler, and constantly get him running for planks while you build the larder or dungeon doors.

COOKING
******************
Cooking is probably among the easiest skills to train, although, if you don't have cash this can be tricky. Most people cook in the Rogues Den, as there is a bank close by.
From 80-99 it would take roughly 92k lobsters, or roughly 53k sharks.
Lobsters cost: 38,640,000 gp (roughly a 5m gp loss)
Good thing about losters is that you don't burn them, so the gp loss is minimal and only based on the grand exchange cooked price.
Sharks are more expensive, especially as you do burn them up till about level 92(not quite sure), but for those of you who don't care, this is probably one of the quickest normal ways to achieve 99 cooking.

FIREMAKING
********************
Ideal Firemaking locations:
Duelling Arena (F2P/P2P)
Grand Exchange (F2P/P2P)
Port Phasmatys (P2P)
The most common logs used in firemaking are Maples and Yews. Takes roughly two weeks to complete firemaking, possibly less with yews.
Maple cost for 80-99: 2,460,000 (or 2,340,000 with ring of fire and gloves)
Yew cost for 80-99: 26,345,000 (or 24,908,000 with ring of fire and gloves)

FISHING
*******************
Levels 1 to 5 - fish shrimp
Places: Draynor(watch out for wizards if you are low level), Catherby
Levels 5 to 20 - sardines and herring
Places: Draynor, Catherby
Levels 20 to 80 - trout and salmon
Places: barbarian village (f2p), Shilo (p2p)
Comments: You can mix in lobsters at around 50, at this point if you need cash, although if your f2p this is a little more difficult as its not close to a bank, but stay at trout/salmon if you are looking for speed.
Levels 80 to 99 - Monkfish
Places: piscatoris fishing colony (need to do swan song)
You could continue flyfishing after 70, as it is quickest exp, but if you want cash, monkfish are the way to go. Flyfishing is an easy 300k+ exp per day.

*These tips are subject to updates if anyone has better ideas*

G&A ADVICE GUIDE – A guide to setting goals and making your own G&A-thread!
~ by Accepted3 and Annoegnoe
This Guide was created to aid you on your journey and hopefully help this forum run more smoothly. It contains pieces of Accepted’s ‘Guide to Setting Goals’ and Annoegnoe’s ‘Guide to a G&A-thread’, put together by Annoegnoe.
INTRODUCTION
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Are you thinking about posting in the Goals and Achievements Forum? Do you have a goal that you want to receive support on? Hopefully this thread will give you some ideas that will help you accomplish the goal you are set out to complete!
We've seen many people come and go on these forums, some who have successfully completed their goals, while others have let their posts fly into oblivion. Still, others make a thread, only to later make another because they change their mind on which goals they want to accomplish. This thread is designed to prevent these types of things from happening, and to cause all of your future goals to be accomplished, with, perhaps, some publicity!

¤ First of all, it’s important you pick a goal you know you’ll be able to deal with. If you don’t know what’s ahead of you, the goal might disappoint you and make you giving up. Therefor, before you make a G&A thread, ask yourself the following questions:
1. Am I already familiar with my goal?
For example, you shouldn’t go for 99 runecrafting starting at level 1. For skills I’d recommend getting them to level 55-65 before you start a G&A-thread. If you don’t know what the journey that’s ahead of you is about, you could find out it is too slow/boring/time consuming for you and give up on it.
2. How much time can I spent on this goal?
If you only play for one hour a day, a goal of a maxed total level may be a little too much for you. Before you start your goal, first calculate how long it will take you by playing the amount of time a day you do now. As soon as you know how long it will take you, decide if you’re willing to go for it!
¤ Secondly, it’s important to abide by the rules when setting up your *&A. You may be like many others who jumped right into the forums without reading the forum rules and find their posts being deleted for breaking the rules.
Since we cannot post all the code of conduct rules here I suggest that you go and read them, they can be found on the top of each forum underneath the name of the forum.
Each forum has their own forum rules posted as a sticky at the top of each thread. Make sure you know the rules well before you post. Keep in mind though all forum rules apply.
The following examples are against the rules:
- Posting about how you were scammed, hacked, etc
- Talking about scams and hacks, or players who scammed you
- Posting a player’s name

Unless you are making a thread with someone, or you are putting someones name in a support list with their permission, naming players is not allowed. Make sure that the player who you are posting about gave you permission ON YOUR THREAD before you post his/her name.
- Advertising your thread on other peoples thread
I know that it is easier for people to find your thread if you advertise; however, it is against the forum rules to advertise your thread.
Some do mention on their threads that they accept thread advertising, but this can cause a problem as it is encouraging others to break the rules which is also against the Code of Conduct.
It is okay to mention that you have a goal or a similar goal and that will allow the people reading to look for your thread. Do NOT post your Quick Find Code or your thread title on somebody else's thread! It will confuse newcomers and they might find themselves in trouble when they do the same thing.

CHAPTER TWO - SETTING A GOAL
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Of course, where would the Goals & Achievements forums be without goals? Before you start your own G&A thread, it’s important that you pick a goal you like and will most likely be able to complete. G&A-threads can be about many different goals, from beating Jad for a firecape, to getting a 99 skill. From getting a draconic visage drop from the King Black Dragon to completing all quests. Of course, you can also pick more than one goal, but don’t overdo it! Better take small steps, take your goals one by one, otherwise you’ll be more likely to give up early!
There a rougly 4 types of goals:
¤ Skill Goals
These are the most common goals. Examples are: getting 99 in one or more skills, getting all of your skills up to a certain level, get a certain total level, get a certain amount of exp in a certain skill, etc.
¤ Item Goals
Examples are: getting a rare, getting a minigame-item (Void’s armour, Fighter Torso), get a certain drop of a certain monster, get a raven egg from a bird’s nest, etc.
¤ Monster Goals
These goals are not too common in the G&A-forums, and are more likely to be found in the Monsters Forum. Examples are: doing 100 Godwars Trips, beat Jad, killing 1,000 steel dragons, etc.
¤ Miscellaneous Goals
Most of the time players pick these as subgoals, examples are: doing an certain amount of Treasure Trails, do all minigames, complete all Achievement Diaries/Quests, etc.

If you have read this far then you may be interested in setting a goal. You may not know what it is you want to do yet, or afraid to start a goal because you don't think you'll finish it.
1. POSITIVE THINKING:
QUOTE: If you think you can, you can, if you think you can't, you're right. (Henry Ford)
If you go into a goal, not believing you'll finish, or hope you'll finish, you'll give up somewhere before the middle.
Making a thread in G&A definitely helps keep you busy and good for keeping track of your progress so that at hard times you can look and see how far you've come
2. SUPPORT
Having support is an awesome thing; however, don't be discouraged if people don't support you right away. Get out there and support the people around you and they will support you in return.
Don't start a new thread, how is anyone going to get to know you if you keep starting something new? People will give up.
You will build a support group. If you’re like me, you hate letting anyone down, so that is another huge motivator.
3. MOTIVATION:
What motivates you? Find something that will motivate you and not make you wanna give up, whether its friends supporting you, or having played so long you want that 99 *lol* .
4. LARGE GOAL, SMALL GOAL
Whether your goal is large or small, don't be discouraged about posting it. We all need encouragement no matter what goal we are working for. Don't just encourage people who are going what you’re going after, spread out your support.
QUOTE: Every worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. (Mahatma Gandhi)

CHAPTER THREE - MAKING YOUR G&A-THREAD
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
A thread in the Goals & Achievements forum is meant to keep track of one’s goals and gain support from other players. There are countless different layouts and structures possible and below I will name some subjects which you could choose to put in your G&A-thread.
This first list contains the subjects which, in my opinion, should always be in a G&A-thread. Of course you can disagree with me, so feel free to pick only the subjects you like!
Things that, in my opinion, should definately be in your G&A-thread:
¤ Title
¤ Introduction
¤ Your goals
¤ Progress meter
¤ Supporters list
The second list contains subjects I’d recommend you put into your G&A-thread, but aren’t too nessecery if you do not want to make a big thread.
Things that you could optionally be in your G&A-thread:
¤ Table of Contents
¤ About you and your account
¤ Explanation of your methods
¤ FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
¤ Reporting template
We will now tell you a bit more about these subjects:
¤ Title
Your threadtitle has to be catchy, but can be no longer than 30 characters. The title is an important part of your thread, it should make players interested enough to visit your thread. You can choose a title which already states your goal, for example (All names are picked randomly):
''YourName343 – 99 Runecrafting''
It can also be a little bit more metaphorical, for example:
''The Essence of my Goal''
''Crafting my way to the top''
Make sure you pick a title that fits you before you post the thread. You can’t change the title yourself once it’s posted, and would have to ask a Forum Mod to change it for you.
You can fancy up your title by using all kind of signs like %$#& etc. But that’s entirely up to you, of course!

¤ Introduction
Again, your introduction can be informative, just stating your goal. If you fancy writing stories, you can also have your introduction be a short story, with your character being the hero. Reading other player’s introductions on their G&A threads will give you good examples of this.
¤ Front page
The front page of your thread (the first post) is almost as important as your title. It has to be clarifying, and when your title doesn’t state your goal exactly, this has to be clear on the front page. Other things your could put in your first post are: Ingame/Forum status, small logo, your progress, song/quote of the week/day, recently gained levels, etc. Remember that it is the front page of a thread that makes people actually want to read your thread!
¤ Table of Contents
A table of contents is optional, but recommended. The table of contents can be in your first or second post, depending on the amount of characters you need for your introduction etc.
¤ About you and your account
This is an optional subject you could put into your thread. In an ‘About me’ and/or ‘About my account’ (of course you can give them another name if you wish so) you can let the reader know who’s the person behind your account. Still, there are some rules regarding this.
Things you are allowed to post:
- Your first name
- The country you’re from
- Since when you’ve been playing
- Your hobbies
- The schooltype you’re in
- Your stats
- Your favourite skills
- Etc.
Things you are NOT allowed to post:
- Your last name
- The grade you're in
- The city/region/state you’re from
- Your age
- The name of sportclub/school
- Etc.

¤ Explaining your methods
Again, this is optional, but most players find it fun to read. In this section you tell the reader how you’re going to complete your goal. This can be very simple, for example:
99 Woodcutting – I’m going to cut willows at Barbarian Assault with my rune axe
But sometimes it’s more complicated, for example when you switch between different methods at certain levels.
In this section you could also put an estimation of the time and money you think it will take you to complete your goal.
¤ You can keep track of your progress is lots of different ways. You can use more than one way to keep track of your goal. The most common ways are:
1. Start / Current / Goal
When your goal is a certain level. This can be in the first post, or later on in your thread. You just put down the level of the skill you started with, your current level, and your goal level. For example:
Start / Current / Goal
65 / 72 / 99

¤ Meter
When your goal is a certain level, or amount. A meter actually is a little piece of ACII work, and is filled up line by line along the way. Below is an example of a meter, but of course you could also be creative and make your own
----
________ (Skill)-o-meter ___
________ ############## ____
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - Goal Complete
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
_______ #______________# ___ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
______ #________________# __ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
_____ #__________________# _ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
_____ #__________________# _ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
______ #________________# __ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
_______ ################ ___ (Level) - Start

As soon as you gain a level, you can fill in the ____ with any symbols that you like. Personally, I choose to use # as the rest of the Skill-o-Meter is made out of them, but it is completely your choice!
If you want to add more spaces for lines, simply copy one line:
________ #____________# ____ (Level) - (Date Achieved)
And insert it into the skinny portion of the Skill-o-Meter

¤ Log
Often used for monster-kills and –drops. For example, when you’re leveling slayer, your log could be like this:
Task #(Tasknumber) – (Task)
Drops – (Drops you’ve got)
Levels – (Levels you’ve got)
You can also keep a log of the experience you got in a certain skill:
(Date) – (Experiece you’ve got) experience
Finally, you can also keep a log of when you achieved what:
(Date) – (Levels you got/Amount of monsters you killed/Amount of quests you did/Etc.)
¤ FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Putting a FAQ in your thread is optional. In the FAQ you can put questions (and answers) of questions that have been asked frequently, or questions you expect to be asked frequently. For example:
Q1: Why did you pick willows and not yews?
A1: Because willows are faster woodcutting experience and I want to get 99 woodcutting as fast as possible!
¤ The Supporters List
A very important part of your thread: the supporterslist! Here you can put the names of the players that posted on your thread and wished you good luck or something alike. Remember you can’t name players unless they have posted on your thread. You can not add people to your list who have given their support ingame, as there's now way to prove they actually supported you!
It’s recommended to number your supporters (All names are picked random):
1. fdgdhurtr
2. pygh*kl
3. And so on...
Some people like to put signs or noted behind the names of there supporters. For example a ‘@’ if the person is in their friend’s list, a *&* is this person has the same goal as they do, a (c) to break the censor, etc.

¤ The reporting template
If someone on your thread breaks the Forum Rules, they can be reported at the ''I Need A Mod!'' sticky in the General Forum (QFC: 14-15-263-57826482). You may want to put a reporting template in your thread, which players can copy/paste to report someone breaking the rules on your thread fast.
For example:
Quick find code: (Quick find code of your thread)
Thread title: (Title of your thread)
Page number in thread: (Let this one open)
Name of offender: (Let this one open)
Type of offence: (Let this one open)
-----
CHAPTER FIVE – PHASES
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Do you have so many goals that you don’t know what to go for first? Do you start a goal then change your mind the first day in?
I would like to mention a few phases I went through when working on my logs
1) BOREDOM
* Man this is so boring. Why did I decide to do this?
2) THE CALLING
* Hmm what is quicker cash then this?
3) THE GROOVE
* Why did I ever hate this skill in the first place*lol*. You get into the routine.
4) THE TUNNEL
* Will it ever end? Is that light I see?
You generally stop being bored after a day or two but the calling and the tunnel can happen more than once. Be aware these phases do pass:
QUOTE: "Don't let go of your dreams. If you have determination and belief in your dreams, you will succeed in spite of your desire to let go." (Catherine Puls**er)
There will be times when you are so overwhelmed that you feel like the end isn't in sight and all you'll think about is how far you still have to go. Don't be discouraged look and see how far you've come.

ACHIEVERS TIPS & STRATEGIES
##############################
# Annoegnoe's Tips #
1. Make sure you have a proper lay-out, this makes your thread much more fun to read!
2. Do not break any forum rules (which can be found in the Code of Conduct). If you do break any rules, you may find your posts hidden, and/or your thread locked by a Forum Moderator.
3. Make your thread fun to read. Ask yourself if you would like to read your own thread. If your thread is fun to read, players will be more eager to post!
4. Do not beg for support! Of course you can ask properly for support, but don’t make it begging!
5. Write a personal answer to each of your supporter. If you have more than one people who supported, do not just post ‘Thanks’, but write something personal for everyone who posted. This way people will be more eager to come back and post again!
6. Don’t bump your thread too often by posting 'Bump'. It's more preferable to use the bumpbutton, as posting may make people think you're spamming.
7. Try to use the best grammar and spelling you can. Don’t use l337 or CAPS LOCK. If english is not your main language, you can ask people to post if they see any grammar or spelling mistakes.
8. Don’t be afraid to post if your english isn’t too good! My english has improved so much since I started to use the forums! The G&A forums have a friendly atmosphere and there will always be someone around to help you!
9. Don’t neglect your thread. Visit it atleast once a day to update it and to thank your supporters. If you’re not posting on your thread every now and then, people may think you have given up on your goal!
10. Don’t be dissapointed if you don’t get support immediately! Give it some time, and keep bumping your thread via the Bumpbutton. Posting friendly and encouraging words on other people’s thread may also make the to post something back on your thread!
11. Be sure to make some reserves before anyone posts, you'll need them.

# 11darkelf11's Tips #
1. Making a Catchy Title, Who wants read.. Getting 76 Fishing, more people would rather read, ^~*HarPOONin Sharks*~^ Notice the symbols before and after, this gets peoples attention
2. Borders you gota have borders, or atleast make your thread look cool! just be creative!
-------
# Accepted3's Tip #
If you have a huge goal that will take you a while to complete, set a subgoal or a daily goal. Setting a daily goal will give you a motivation as well as leave part of your day open for something else if you need a break while still moving ahead in your goal.
------
# Barex*'s Tips #
Right Well first of all, don't just go and make a thread without really thinking about what you want. Think it all over carefully, thinking what you'll do first and how you'll do it. Try writing it all down on some paper so you don't forget any good idea'* for the thread. Right now how to structure it, If it's a fairly big thread, don't try and cram it into however many posts too much. Every section for a differnt post, so Intro, Your progress, Special Thanks, Support, Reserves etc.
Use Good grammar if possible. Alot of the time it get's annoying when you see something that you can hardly read becuse they've used bad grammar and shortened words. I have nothing against this but I believe on forums it looks much nicer. It's much nicer to read when you use nice grammar .
Make it look good and attractive! Put little designs if you want such as "=~> Contents <~=" or "~^v^v^~ Supporters ~^v^v^~", it makes it look alot better.
For a title try and make it look attractive (Don't use capital letters all through this just looks bad). Maybe make it catch with a joke or something. Try working with your name, Me myself I can't do it but some people can. another option is to make it very vague so people are going to want to look into the thread to just see what the title means. Before you make yours study other peoples threads and how they've done it.

# Billw87s Tip #
Break your goal up into more easily managed sections! When I was going for a purple party hat without merchanting, I made a money meter to keep track of my progress, and I made the subdivisions on the meter every 5 mil. I could have made a much smaller meter by making the divisions 10 mil apart or more, but I liked being able to add another notch to the meter every week or two.
If you're going for a 99, make an XP meter instead of a level meter, that way you can really get a sense of the fact that you're still making progress even as the levels get more spaced apart. Being able to put up another notch every few days really helps fight the frustration of long goals!
-------
# Captin Fight's Tips #
1) When you're trying to pick a goal to post about in this forum make sure it's something you'll stick to. You don't want to start a goal and a quarter of the way to half way through you're like: "I'm bored, I don't want to do this anymore." You should pick a goal you will stick with to the end. Also you shouldn't pick a goal that's outrageous like: "I'm going to make 999999Bil in a DAY!" Obviously this is impossible so don't do something like this
2) If you're getting kind of bored or you're thinking this goal is impossible, then get those thoughts out of your head! If you start to feel like this then take a little break, they don't hurt just make sure you get back to your goal when you feel motivated again.
3) When you're making a thread make sure you have an idea of what you're going to do and the amount of posts you need. Although don't let this hold you back, take as many reserves as needed even some extras if you think of something later . A good Idea I've seen and used would be to type a rough outline (or what you're going to put in your actual thread) in Microsoft Word or something so you can copy and paste or just have an idea.

I was soo bored trying to get 70 mining so i went to the granite mine in the desert with no food, money or water.
The only way i'm leaving the desert ( except fixing my pick ) is with 70 mining!
------
# Eagleking12's Tips #
When I got great things that were hard for me, I got into a routine. I spent a week just ranging ogres, and it wasn't as bad as I thought, because I didn't kill myself doing it. I took small steps, and it paid off.
Take breaks every now and then. I play for about an hour, go and watch some TV, shoot some hoops, the come back and play again. Never give up. Set realistic goals, don't think you'll get 99 in a skill or 200 million exp in a day. It takes time, patience, and determination.
-------
# Lethalkiler9's Tip #
Choose something that doesn't get you bored easily. For instance, for me WoodCutting is a very boring skill, but Merchanting is never boring for me. Therefore, when trying to reach an item goal, I would choose Merchanting.
But that's just me.
*Note: Skill goals are different. Just because Wc is boring for you, doesn't mean you shouldn't make a goal about it.*
-------
# Mountain208's Tip #
When your going after a goal. Dont just do it half heartedly go after it and dont stop until you complete it. When you get bored dont think about something else. Maybe take a break from runescape then when you come back you will be fully ready to charge at that goal once again.
-------
# Musicman 7's Tip #
One other very small thing is, I can't stand those corny titles that say things like "99 everything. Wait, what?" You have no idea how much these titles bug me. It often is what makes me not read a thread. So make your titles interesting, but don't make them so corny, and really, don't use question marks.

# Sindri Pitt's Tips #
If you're bored on a skill take a break maybe to work on another skill, for example I was working on 80 thief, when I got to 75 I was so bored off it I decided to do some construction then I got back to thieving and wasn't as bored
Also if you're doing a skill you really don't like and want to quit it immidiately, do it with another skill, like I hated thieving&mining once and they were both lvl 60'* and I was aiming for lvl 65, and I got 61 thieving, then 61 mining and so on. It really helped me
----
# Urbestfriend's Tips #
When you want a level, play agressively. Focus on getting that level, and think of the rewards. Also, HAVE FUN AND KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE! The rewards are greater than you expect, so never give up.
--
# Vaduhhatuh's Tips #
1) Set a timetable (if it is possible).
For example, I am going for 99 Firemaking. I plan to burn 1k+ logs for the next 90 days to get my goal. It is not too stressful, it is feasable, as well as it gives me an idea as to when I will be finished.
In this way, I have a goal to reach daily, that will get me to my ultimate goal before I know it.
2) The best way to keep you going on a goal, especially for me, is to find something to surprise you every day or week.
For example, I make money using Miscellania. Every week, I can collect my earnings from it, and have a nice surprise waiting for me.
Lastly, along with something fun for you, try to keep it from being monotonus.
----
# Z3 rk er's Tip #
I've found, contrary to other people, that doing another skill, can distract you from completing your goal(s).
For Example(This particular time, it was a game update that distracted me) : On my other account, I was going for 99 firemaking, then the PvP worlds came out and completely distracted me. I eventually just sold the logs for PvP gear, and stopped at 70 Firemaking.
So, my advice is try to concentrate ONLY on the skill you are training and try not to get distracted by anything.

Never set a goal too high; just take it step by step.
----
# Ggoldenbug's Tip #
I noticed one tip telling people not to take breaks from their goals. I find it much easier to take a break go slaying or gwd or even to Stealing Creations while my goal is on hold.
It has never distracted me from my goals just gives me a nice break from doing the same thing every day.
----
# Earl Robin H's Tip #
Set yourself a certain amount of xp to do per day or an amount of items to collect/cut/fish etc. For example, woodcut 500 yews each day, then do what you want for the rest, or if you are enjoying it, continue, but as a bare minimum, do 500 each day.

I've updated the template section and the first post so far*lol* I've posted the table of contents as well, so that everyone can see how the thread will be set up:)

I'm not quite sure what has happened ingame that has caused you to post on the thread, despite the thread rule being that no ingame issues be brought here, but I am more than happy to discuss this with you ingame at a convenient time for us both:)
I want to assure you that we do not allow players to be rude in chat, nor do we allow anyone to down play other peoples accomplishments. Those who are rude, or like being chat trouble makers do not represent the chat, and I'd rather you not view the chat based on them.
This thread, and the chat, were created to help support each other in our goals and create an environment that helps keep things fun and enjoyable. In order for this to happen though, we need everyone to work together to help create a peaceful environment.
Sadly though, no matter how hard we, or any other chat tries for that matter, there will be the odd problem, and we can only handle it to the best of our ability. Bringing ingame problems to the thread doesn't help the group, nor our thread.
If an issue does arrive, we ask that it be dealt with privately; this way not everyone gets involved, and it won't disrupt the enjoyment of others. Another thing to keep in mind is we do have alot of younger people in the chat, who do not always behave in the best possible manner, but we must remember that not everyone is at the same age level, nor maturity level.
The thread is held somewhat as a separate entity then our chat, and what happens in our chat should not be reflected here. You may use this thread to get in contact with someone to discuss an issue, but please not disrupt the thread by posting the issue here.
It is your prerogative to leave us, however, please do not let that decision be based on one of the chat trouble makers. If you have trouble with anyone in particular, please give me a chance to sort it out first.
I'm here for anyone to talk to me if they need to:)

It's because more people are thinking negatively than working on making things positive. Unless we all work together for the good of the group then what hope is there?
If people give up trying to make it better then it will never get better. It's the power of positive thinking. If one believes, we can accomplish any goal; but, if one doesn't change their thinking and start working toward that one goal, then, no it will never change, especially for those who decide not to try.
So if there is something that has upset you aard, then please, speak with me next time you see me ingame. We're all working for the same goal here, a peaceful and fun environment for us all.
A chat is only as good as the people in it <----This saying also works for those who are 'helpful', kind and respectful. We need to work at showing more people this. If the good guys let the occassional bad guy chase you out, then what hope is there of making a difference?
Many of us are making an effort to get this chat back up and running, but we need everyones help. Presenting a negative attitude here is not helping.
Please help, don't hinder.

99 FISHING PARTY INFORMATION
I figure its time to share details about my 99 fishing party, as it's drawing close.
Date: September 12th
Time: 2200 Forum time (2pm Pacific)
World: 102(f2p start), 131 after
Location: starts off in draynor village
Details: We'll be starting in draynor, world 37, and walking down to my first fishing spot in Rimmington. Where I used to fish because i was too scared of the wizards*lol*
Then I'll sneak over to a Pay to play world and get the cape, and pop back to f2p to show it. Then we'll head up to the party room to have one drop party.
Once that is done, we'll head to world 131, and have a game of fishing trawler as a suitable end to my fishing journey. I hope you all can join me as I complete the skill that has elluded me for so long.

PROMOTING ACHIEVERS UNITED EVENT
------------------------------
I would like to make a video promoting our awesome group. There are two parts to this video:
1) For the first part of the video, I will be visiting with you all individually to make a video of you while you work on your goal. As I'm filming, you'll say what your name is and what goal you are working on. This will take place over a period of time, so that I can get everyone who is part of our group, or almost everyone.
2) The second part of the video will be us all gathered together to send out various greetings to our watchers, to wish them all good luck in their goals, and say we support them. Along with encouragement to come join us on our thread, and in the chat.

What do you all think? Would you be interested in participating?

Can you please edit your post which discusses the chat negatively. If you wish to leave, please try to do it on a good note, and not say things that will cause further trouble for us.
You're aware of the rule we have on the thread in which ingame issues are not to be brought to the forums, especially as this thread is to be held somewhat separately from ingame.
We have to always remember that Runescape is a game which has players of all ages, and all maturity levels, it's really not fair to delete everyone because of it. We spoke about the chat mostly because it was something we were part of, that wasn't the sole basis of our friendship.
Gosh, I wish people wouldn't link me solely with the chat. I am my own person who has other likes and interests. The chat is just part of my ingame character, not who I really am. And even though we might be random people on the internet, we're still people with feelings which need to be considered.
But as I'm going through real life issues at the moment, I'm going to stop here, as my composure is none to nil at the moment.

FUTURE EVENTS FOR ACHIEVERS
-------------------------------
Hey all:)
Occassionally members of the chat ask whether or not we'll be holding events, and since you guys seem interested in doing this, I'd like to give you all the opportunity to suggest what events you'd like to see us do.
Would you like to try and fight monsters, do other minigames, etc. Feel free to post away and let us know what you'd like to participate in, besides our usual 99 parties:)

Thank you for the apology:) It was to only be a week ban, but I have had alot on my plate and lost track of the dates, so it's my turn to apologize there. But please remember that we need to be respectful of other people, and supportive as well. The chat is there to help keep people entertained as they train, with, hopefully, warm and friendly conversations.

Annoegnoe - sounds like an awesome idea:)
My Wiz in me - Thanks for the offer, I'll let you know when we get any events set up so you can put them on the thread too.
AgileSkiller - I'm sorry to see you go, feel free to catch up with me ingame to let me know if there are any problems inparticular that you have. I'd like to do my best to help you sort them if i can.
Thanks everyone for all the event ideas:) I'll see if i can get some organized maybe for next weekend, and put up a thread in the events forum for it.

EVENT INFORMATION
----------------------
I would like to hold an event Saturday, November 21st, at approximately 2100 forum time.
The idea is a parade of sorts, where we can encourage people to join the achievers clan chat, and to advertise the goals and achievements forum.
I haven't quite decided what we should wear yet, so if you have any ideas, fire away:D Also, if you are unable to make the date and time, let me know, and i'll see if we are able to change it. I'd love you all to be there:)
Or, we could simply have fun at the games room, or fightpits. The event itself is still up for discussion. What would you all like to participate in?

EVENTS COORDINATOR TEAM
---------------------------
We are also looking at putting together a group of about five players to be our Events Coordinators. You would be in charge of organizing weekly events that we can participate in.
Preferably using different time zones so that there is something everyone can attend. We would like at least one or two of our coordinators to be from the Uk time zone roughly, and another from the aussie timezone.
Event Coordinators would hold the lieutenant rank in chat, but will not have any booting abilities. If you would like to participate in this and you are able to play regularly, feel free to put your name up for nomination.
To qualify as a possible member of this team, you need to be an active Achievers member, have been with us for over 3 months, and be preferably in good standing with the rest of the group;)
If your interested, post here to let me know. This team would also be attempting to work around the events that are hosted by WFE so that ours don't conflict. Amidst your group, you will also want to decide the best route to advertise these events. As Az suggested here is a template you can fill out if you are interested in being part of the Events Team:
~EVENTS TEAM TEMPLATE~
Username:
Display name:
Timezone:
How long have you been with the Achievers:
Why do you think you should be an Event Coordinator:

Heya Az, thanks for the template idea:) I've added it to my post.
We'll be deciding in about a week who will be on the events team. This will be so people have time to apply. We will be choosing two head coordinators, and about 4-5 other coordinators to make up the full events team.

I'm about to make a thread to advertise the event for this weekend. It's a bit late so not sure how active it will be, but hopefully we'll get a good parade going.
Date: November 21st
Time: 2100 forum time (1pm pacific)
World: 2
Starting Place: my house, rimmington
Outfit/items: wear red and gold
We'll march around Runescape, and then make our way up to the games room. We'd like to encourage people to use the Goals and Achievements Forum, and our clan chat, although, let's be sure not to spam the chatbox though.
And try to keep it to only one advertisement per chat screen.
Hope to see you all there:) Acc

Hey guys:)
We've now chosen the Events Coordinator team. However, I can't officially have them recognized in chat until next week though, as I can't add everyone to my list atm given that I'm f2p and my list is overfull*lol*
Head Coordinators are:
My Wiz In Me
Lord Pokeh
Events Team Coordinators are:
Annabel67
Mageguy445
Stoutfist1
Az ft iKaas
war clan0
Next week, when I get members back, I'll be giving out bronze stars to the events team. Thanks to everyone who applied on the forums, and ingame. Their job over the next week is to get together, and decide how they will go about making the next
"A.W.E - Achievers Weekly Event"
thread, and start to work on the coming Christmas holiday events.

We were attempting to open this up to players who have not yet received a clan chat rank, except for the two head coordinator positions which are held by two generals. To hopefully give the members of the group more ways to help out.
Once we see how this goes, we'll hopefully be opening up a rotating spot where others will get an opportunity to help out if they want to:)

For those who were unable to make the event, I'll briefly share with you the story of
#########################
"The Comedy of Errors"
#########################
We all met in the Lumbridge Castle Courtyard, and were gathered in Accepted3's clan chat. Once everyone was ready we proceeded to give out the first clue which was
Clue: Go to the basement of the kitchen where your journey first began to meet with Lord Pokeh(Lumbridge kitchen basement)
And so the journey began, players went from Lumbridge kitchen, to the flour mill, to the Draynor witches house, and up to the Falador respawn point. Mod Crow happily directed people see Godofpixels in the Varrock Library. Who in turn directed the winner, who was My Wiz In me, to my location at the Cooking Guild. The Hide-n-seek scavenger Hunt went without a hitch, but that was not to last;)
Everyone gathered beside the cooking guild, and prepared their messages. When I counted down from 5, everyone shared their congrats...but instead of getting 99, I received a message
"You have to use a proper oven(range) to cook a Pie"
So we all decided to teleport to Lumbridge and use the range in the Kitchen of the castle. Everyone prepared their messages and I counted down. At 1, they all said congrats....but I received a message
"Who gave you permission to use that"
Who would have thought that a player with lvl 98 cooking wouldn't have completed Cook's assistant yet *face palms* I completely forgot all about the quest. Eventually we paraded up to Edgeville and used the range in the house and finally managed to get 99. It's a 99 I'll never forget*lol*

IMPORTANT UPDATE
#######################
Hey guys
If you've read the front page, you've probably heard about how Jagex is planning to release the orb update next week, in which players will be able to use it to help make videos. With this update, they are planning to release another machinima contest.
They said that we could advertise an item, a shop, or a business, etc. I thought we might advertise the Achievers, but how to go about doing this, I'm not quite sure yet.
Feel free to share with me your ideas ingame. I'm also planning on hosting a couple meetings throughout next week to help plan this. Please keep an eye on this post for meeting details.

My apologies again everyone. I know that we've just established the group and the chat has been growing by leaps and bounds...but the time has come for me to really say good bye.
I know I've done this before, but with the recent update, and the direction that runescape is taking, as a christian, I can't continue to stay. That is all I'll say here.
You've all been a great group, and have been very supportive of me and my goals. You are the reason I've gotten to where i have today, and the reason I've held with the game for so long. I've been wanting to help people believe in themselves, that anything is possible as long as they believe.
I've seen so many people overcome barriers and complete their goals, and I can only hope and pray that you'll take those skills of patience and determination with you into the real world.
As for what will happen to the chat. I'll be leaving my clan chat open for those who wish to continue to use it...but as for the group, I'm handing the reigns over to Motley807 as he was my co-owner at the very beginning, so its only rightly so that he becomes the new official owner.
Again, I'm sorry to disrupt the group, but as you have already noticed I really don't play as much as I used to, and haven't really had the same drive within the game as I used to. The time has come to lay up my crown, and my character for the last and final time.
There is no going back for me now. I want to say thanks to everyone who has made this group possible, to all my generals, and my event team coordinators....and last but not least, all the members of the chat. You really are what made Runescape fun.
Take care all.

Way to go, Wiz:)
I'm currently aiming for 99 Thieving, but not sure how long it will take since I can't normally play much. I'm off work due to an injury so maybe I can manage to get somewhere*lol*. That's providing I can sit for long enough with my back and neck hurting like it is.
I just got 88 thieving last night so I'm creeping along*lol*. Good luck to everyone in their goals.

Hey all:)
Just thought I'd share my goals with everyone. I'm currently working on getting a "anti-poison totem" from dungeoneering, but I need 44k tokens. I've just past 22k tokens and I'm 61 dungeoneering, so I'm slowly getting there.
After I get the totem, I plan to finish thieving at pyramid plunder. I'm currently level 91 thieving, shouldn't take too long to get to 99 once I get the totem.
Good luck to everyone. My neck and back still hurt alot, but trying to take it easy so it heals...hard to do though.

I'm afraid that we cannot really go into heavy detail on the forums regarding the situation because doing so would discuss the actions of another player in which there is no proof on the forums.
I would like to mention that censor evasion is against the rules and is a reportable offense. This is something that everyone knows, and if they get booted without warning, one shouldn't be surprised, especially if they do something more severe than evasion.
If a general gives a warning that is them trying to be nice and give them a chance before they get booted. When a warning is given, it is not a time for the player warned, or others, to disrespect the general. The best thing to do after a warning is given is to say sorry, and then move forward. To put things in perspective, look at how Jagex handles rule-breaking, you either get muted or banned temporarily without warning because the rules are evident.
When a player is booted from chat, I will be told about it and will talk with the player in question. If a player gets booted 3 times, they will receive a 1 day ban from chat. if a player gets booted again, they will receive a week ban from chat, and should issues continue they will receive a perm chat ban.
Rules, especially censor evasion, are not new rules, and players should realize that we do not allow rs rules to be broken in chat either. Those who are currently in chat are not new to our chat, nor are they new to Runescape so they already know the rules. Generals may give a warning if they feel that the situation calls for it, but don't be surprised if a person gets booted instead.
The other issue is that when a person gets booted, it is then up to myself to talk with them and deal with the situation in question, not up to those in chat to disrupt everyone else by questioning the general in defence of a friend.

If a general is confronted and asked why a person was booted, they are informed to say "I'm afraid that is now between Accie and whoever was booted". If a person disagrees and feels that a boot was not necessary, you are welcome to talk to me. I will take what you say into consideration.
A player will only be booted from chat for the following reasons
1) If a rule is broken - now in this case, they may receive a warning depending how severe the rule-break is. If its severe and reportable, chances are no warnings will be given. Should they be booted without warning, or even booted after receiving a warning, I will be speaking with both the general who booted and the person who broke the rules, along with others who I feel may be necessary to help clear up the picture of what happened.
2) Harassment of a general - Should a person continue to harass/disrespect a general after they receive a warning for rule-breaking, or causing chat problems, they will be booted. If its the case of harassing, or disrespecting a general, due to a previous boot, or the boot of another player, the General will respond with the above and ask to change the subject. If it continues, they will boot.
We ask that players do not send their friends in to question the boot, rather be aware that booting only occurs when rules are broken, unless its accidental, such as, when a general tries to add a player and accidentally hits boot instead. In this case, I and the player in question will be told.
3) If a player has received numerous warnings close together, and has often been warned for the same thing, the player may then start to get booted by the general who gave the warnings, or another who witnessed it without further warnings, and are at risk of a chat ban.
Now, please understand that each general will use their own discretion for and just because you witness one general giving a warning for something, or booting for something, may not necessarily mean that another "HAS" to.

Some players like to cry out "power abusing" when a general gives out a warning or boots someone.
What is power-abusing?
Power-abusing is when a general in the chat goes on a booting rampage for absolutely no apparent reason. Now by no reason, I don't mean by what you consider to be "no reason" because many of you don't think certain types of rule-breaking are a big deal. I've had people cry "power abusing" to me, when rules have been broken.
If rules are broken, minor or severe, being issued a warning, or getting booted, *SHOULD* be expected. If a general boots for rule-breaking, and/or even disrespect, it is not considered power abusing.
We all understand that you may disagree with an action taken by a general, but harassing them, or getting a bunch of people to argue about it, is not the way to handle things, especially if you DID break the rules. Please remember that if someone gets booted, I will be speaking both with the general, the booted player, and other witnesses to get a full picture, so there is no reason to harass the general over it.
Four things we ask of players who visit our chat
1) Be Respectful
2) Be Kind
3) Be Helpful/supportive
4) Follow rules
Each player is different and has their own personality, but we must always consider the feelings of others, even if you feel differently about something.
Thank you for reading:)

Hey guys:) I hope you all are doing well. My apologies for not spending much time on the thread. I've been super busy with work lately, and now with my injury from the car accident, it's hard to sit down for long periods of time at the computer.
Congrats to any and all achievements that have been accomplished lately, and good luck to all those who have new goals they are working on.
I`m still trying to finish mining, but its slow going (i'm procrastinating*lol*)
-----
Please remember that while Jagex has added toggle for the profanity filter, it is not a license to swear up a blue streak. Players can still get in trouble for swearing, and it is still offending towards other people, so I'd much rather not have it in my chat. There really is no need for it as there are other words to use. With the profanity toggle, jagex is hoping that players will be mature with its "use", and part of that maturity is respecting the players around you and do your best not to offend them.
I understand that players do get upset in certain situations, and sometimes it does slip, in which case, we should offer a warning, or a reminder to use more appropriate language. However, if someone is more prone to use language, even after warnings have been issued, they may likely be booted.
Slip-ups are more believable in real life because when it comes to typing, you actually have to type it and then click enter, so its not quite a "slip" of speech, so to speak.
Remember, if rules are followed, no one gets booted, and no one gets warned. If rules are broken, you may get booted, even without warning; and really to be honest, nearly everyone who uses our chat, knows the chat rules by now and can't really complain if they get booted for breaking them.
If a player receives a warning that is because the chat general being nice and wanting to give the player a second chance, but sadly, these second chances are getting abused and we are getting a little frustrated with that.

We are not asking for anything unreasonable, and what we are asking for is to help the chat have a more positive supportive environment for everyone who enters it. And to ensure that no one gets into trouble by jagex while in my chat because that too brings problems into the chat because then people complain about getting reported, etc.
I just want a nice peaceful environment that everyone can come and have fun, and if a person has trouble with that, they are more than welcome to visit another clan chat.
Again, I do not allow swearing in my chat, and my chat generals are more than welcome to boot anyone who disrespects that *if* they know that the person is familiar with the rules of our chat. If there is a slip, especially by a new user, and they feel the person deserves a second chance, they may be given it at the chat generals discretion.
Any chat generals disrespecting this rule may lose their star as they are to be a positive influence on the chat. Remember though, unless I have positive proof of this, I will not act because many players have chips on their shoulder with various people and do whatever they can to try and get them in trouble.
Thanks:) Acc

Welcome back TSN Dan:)
In f2p it is challenging, but maybe yews or swordfish? Maybe mining?

Over the next while we are going to be trying to re-vamp the thread, and update the ranking system. I'm gonna be posting a meeting time shortly for all generals/captains.

GENERALS/CAPTAIN MEETING
-----------------------
Date: Friday - July 22, 2011
Time: 2100 Forum time (subject to change)
Chat: Atlantisblue
This meeting is to discuss moving forward with our group. To discuss re-arranging our ranking system, as well as to talk about re-making the thread. What you don't think we need on our thread, and what you would like to see. As for the ranking system, we may also be doing some de-ranking for those who are non-active in the chat anymore, down to sergeant status(still one of respect in case they return).
This is also to discuss creating a clan. We wouldn't replace the achievers with a clan, but it will be like a sister group for those who aren't already in a clan. It would also be a group that would reach out and help others once a week. We'd like to discuss what name to have etc.
We'll also be discussing the rules and situation in our current chat. Here you can share your thoughts on what you feel needs to be changed. Just a heads up though, I'm not going to change my thoughts on swearing;) My thoughts are immovable on that topic.
If you are unable to make the meeting, due to the time or other circumstance, please let me know. We may be able to organize another meeting for those who can't make this one. Or if you can't make it, but have a topic you want to discuss, you can pass it along to someone who can bring it up.

Hi 4LCH
Oh have no fear:) I have no plans on changing the Achievers into an official clan, but rather have an offshoot sister group for those who aren't in a clan and for others who wish to join.
It'll be a help/support group that is much like my "a kind beginning" that i had created a few years back, who go out into runescape to help newcomers....and even support each other in our own endeavours.
It won't replace Achievers. Achievers will always remain an open group rather than a clan. I agree though, we need to be more open and welcoming to newcomers because if not, the group will never grow and people simply won't come back.
My effort and mission has always been to make a difference, and to encourage others to make a positive difference to those around them by treating them as they want to be treated. If people can't follow the golden rule, they may have to find another chat.

Stevensumon
Thank you for your comment. That is exactly what I have seen as well, and much of it has been completely unnecessary. For example, people jumping on newcomers who make spelling mistakes. One thing people forget is that not everyone has English as their first language, and some people are still fairly young so their English won't be perfect.
Our current members need to be more welcoming and more accepting of these types of things. It's sad to watch them jump on newcomers when they themselves are good at breaking chat rules. It's become much like a double standard.
Granted, there are some people who purposely come in to cause trouble, but we can't use that to judge them all. Hopefully at this meeting tomorrow, we can sort out the best way to deal with those who purposely disrupt the chat, and those who troll others unnecessarily, even if they are our friends. Problems are coming from both old and new, and it's not fair for the chat to lay these problems solely on the newcomers.
It's embarrassing quite frankly.

I'm here, but not as often as I'd like to be. Unfortunately it is true, not much has changed since the meeting. It was unfortunate that not too many were there.
I've been having trouble with things in real life so haven't had much time to focus on Runescape currently. My apologies for taking so long to move things forward.

My apologies guys. I'm still trying to recover and i have a hard time sitting. Life really has overtook me these days.
I understand the frustration death, and I do apologize for not being online to chat with you. I am surprised you didn't speak with me the other day when we ran into each other ingame though.
I can't really go into detail, but the situation should be changed slightly now. Just a reminder for everyone that if there is someone who is frustrating you, and annoying you, please add them to ignore and do not have any further contact with them. This helps prevent an innocent guest in the chat from getting caught in the middle between any fueds that may be going on. It doesn't make it fun for anyone.

Wow, I didn't even realize that our thread still existed. *lol* I thought it would have fallen off the edge of Runescape already.

I hope everyone is doing well. :) My goals have changed from Runescape to writing, but I still follow the same plan for completing my real life goals.
