Windows Media Player can copy your CDs to MP3 files! If you want to buy music legitimately, it may be cheaper to buy CDs than MP3 files. Plus, you get backup of the files and some extra (usually lyrics) when you buy CD.
Minesweeper is much more that clicking randomly until you lose. There are many kind of statistics in Minesweeper.
Time - Sweepers want to be as fast as possible, this is the most important stat. In Minesweeper the time is currently rounded up to the next integer. For example, real time 80.89 = 81 seconds, 34.21 = 35 seconds. Also 34.00 = 35 seconds.
3BV/s - Time is not always a fair way to compare sweepers because the difficulty of boards varies greatly. This is why sweepers implemented 3BV. 3BV (=BBBV), Bechtel's Board Benchmark Value, is the minimum number of left clicks required to complete the board when using only left clicks. Each opening and the surroundings can be opened in one click, then one click for each of the rest of the squares. 3BV/s is the 3BV of the board divided by the time it took to complete. Simple? 3BV is not very accurate (or only) benchmark value, there are other benchmarks, like ZiNi or HZiNi, which are too complicated to explain here. Basically, they take into account that multiple squares can be opened with one click when using flags.
IOE - Index of efficiency. 3BV divided by the number of clicks you used completing the board. Note that IOE can be greater than 1 if using flags efficiently.
IOS - Index of speed. Log(3BV)/Log(Time-1)
RQP - Rapport Qualitι Prix. Time/(3BV/s)
and many more... cool that you are still reading this. Wasn't it a cool fact?
For me sure it is, new record IRL! 10 000 meters in (under) 40.25 (?)
Here's what happened. The weather was awful, of course it was the day I was supposed to have my test... It's funny you're talking about sunburns... It was snowing and the snow had covered the marks on the road so I wasn't sure when to turn back (I was supposed to turn back at 5 km point). I will have to measure the distance later to get the exact time, my goal was 40 min and I probably got very close to it. Nonetheless, I'm very happy with how I did, I couldn't have done any better and considering the weather it was a good time, too. This was the first time I tried 10 000 meter test; it was certainly my most intensive forty minutes ever.
very mad guysaid: im starting to wonder if jokku is the only one here who actually knows anything about minesweeper. my kind of minesweeping was just clicking until i lost (note that i was very little back then)
Cool minesweeper is actually pretty popular, so quite a few people know how to play. Also, Nuke Yelps has already completed expert level several times and is getting better all the time.
I still suggest watching the video "Minesweeper - the Movie", it's only 2 minutes long. It teaches you how to play in a most hilarious way
If Orion is a cheat client for Old School, in Minesweeper there are "anti-cheat clients". Arbiter, for example, is amazing. Saves all records on video automatically and tracks statistics of all games played.
When I still played Old School last year, I found a cool thing.
When you enter Ice Path, the area where Frostbite music track is played, your music settings change from auto to manual. This means Frostbite will keep playing until you change the settings back or choose another track.
There are other special effects in game, like dark caves if you don't have a light source, but I believe this is the only situation where your settings are caused to change by the game itself.
Mod Ash commented on this:
"I saw that when I was locating music for Nightmare Zone. I couldn't work out why it had been done, so I left it alone. It was so arbitrary that I assumed it must have been deliberate, albeit inexplicable to me."

*'m not returning. They should have left one or two servers out of updates for those who actually wanted Old School. Now this is not Old School anymore.
edit: maybe I stake my bank if Duel Arena is f2p
I recently tested Winmine on Windows 8.1 (or Microsoft Minesweeper... whatever). Just wanted to point out that whenever I say I play Minesweeper, I am NOT playing the Microsoft version of it.
The graphics were weird and it slows you down when you are used to the original theme. Also flags are placed after you release right mouse button so 1.5 clicking doesn't work... Pretty bad for pro sweepers.
A good thing is that there are daily challenges and adventure mode, which is pretty fun by the way. You explore caves and try to avoid mines
Edit: Funny censor. Combine the letters that were censored. HAH! G....!!
Nice... I remember a similar mistake somewhere. 5.5 for something that cost 55...
Cool fact #31
Copied from Wikipedia:
"Baldwin Street, in Dunedin, New Zealand, is the world's steepest residential street.
At its maximum, about 70 metres (230 ft) below the top, the slope of Baldwin Street is about 1:2.86 (19° or 35%). That is, for every 2.86 metres travelled horizontally, the elevation changes by 1 metre."

i just checked and apparently there was a problem with billing. i guess membership is off for now
Looks like you're still a member and have been since March 2009.
When my membership ended it took about 48 hours for the avatar to disappear and 2 weeks for the membership badge. If you look at very mad's adv log, it says "non-member account", so his membership probably elapsed.
I remember the thread and I'm sorry you saw it like that. I didn't read all the replies, but I remember it was a suggestion to recreate "Most posts" in order to locate post farming in one thread. It was not a complaint about people who enjoy playing a lot of games, but as I said, I didn't read all the replies, so sorry if you were insulted
*chanting can be heard off in the distance, along with a strange glowing light visible hundreds of miles away* *the once clear day sky, turns very dark, and dark clouds begin to swirl around an altar was the chanting and light is coming from, foolishly the lounge gang goes to have a closer look, and finds several hooded and masked creatures gathered around a giant rock with a lock of purple hair placed on the center. the lounge gang was quickly spotted and grabbed by several of the members, they then took them to the middle and cut the gang's shoes and added their laces to the lock of hair. One of members who was most likely the chief said that the blood oath has been paid, and shortly after lighting hit the lock of hair and from the light emerged the Purple Lord himself, 0bendigo!!!* That's right I'm back from the dead once again!!!!!
Tldr: he has returned and scammed our shoes to worship his purple hair fan club!

Cherry Wavessaid: Fight to the death with an egg whisk A painful death; this is one of the big Easter themes. Jesus died very painfully. But, 3 days later he was resurrected. I would like this event to focus on the joyful aspects of Easter. Maybe we could skip the 3-day wait and just run away from Death's office? We need to change the plan though if Hardcore ironmen/ironwomen are coming.
