Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure there aren't any familiars that either require a slayer level to use or are otherwise linked specifically to slayer -- so why should slayer points buy you something that isn't specific to slayer?

Jagex has overall done a pretty good job at offering only slayer-related rewards to be bought with slayer points, and that's how it should remain. Slayer is plenty rewarding as it is.

If you want more charms but don't want to train combat/slayer further for them, you have other skills covering you as well: firemaking, thieving and hunter all have methods of obtaining more charms. If slayer becomes more OP to get charms with, it'll just make the other methods more dead of a content. No support for being able to buy charms with slayer points.

That's a fair point, though you could argue that Firemaking and Hunting shouldn't give charms as they're not directly connected to Summoning either.

It's not unheard of for different skills to be connected and as long as the amount of charms received isn't overpowered, it could be a useful addition, particularly as many people use Slayer as their primary source of charms.

(edited for typo)

By what logic do you connect thieving and summoning but not firemaking/hunter and summoning then? Or did you just miss the part about thieving and thus didn't mention it?

But no, that wasn't my point: slayer gives charms through monster drops and that's fine, since you should get some reward for killing monsters. Giving them from a shop that's really meant for slayer-specific rewards (and which is already plenty rewarding in its current state) on the other hand is illogical, since there isn't (again, to my knowledge, feel free to correct if I missed something) anything on the summoning skill that is specifically related to slayer and that requires charms. It's like adding weapons to a food store: they don't belong in there.

With firemaking for example, it's not that useful as a skill to begin with, so fire spirits giving charms helps with that, and the way that's implemented is pretty good and logical. Slayer is already at a good standing, and doesn't need to be made more OP, especially like this.

If anything, when 120 summoning inevitably becomes real for everyone and has proper use, more skills should receive ways of getting charms, rather than making one skill like slayer the one and only meta way to get them. Many people use slayer as their primary source of charms, it's true, because it's already too good almost.
