Hey, let's face it while many people like both OSRS and RS3, RS3 does have several problems. For me, it could be greatly improved if Legacy mode was actually a viable option. In the current state of things, legacy mode is so underpowered that if you want to play legacy mode, you just play OSRS.

I'm not trying to pit people against each other, I'd just like to go back on my main account from many years back and enjoy playing the current game. Thank you for reading.

Honestly, it's a mess for a game to have 2 combat systems like RS3 has, so it'd be far better to just get rid of one of them and focus on making the remaining one as best as it can be. And since OSRS already has legacy-like combat system, and EoC works now, it'd be silly to have both games with the same combat system, so legacy should just be removed from RS3.

And practically speaking about RS3's issues, EoC was a problem when it was still new, but nowadays the combat system is doing pretty fine. Instead, the real present day problems are the P2W MTX, neglecting essential reworks like bank rework or loyalty point rework, and the UI being a mess, just to name a few.

You are quite right on what you say about legacy mode it's not up to scratch, there are a lot of quests and other battles where EOC is required and recommended to use by the community.

They bring something in the game for us to use as there was a lot of backlash towards EOC, but what they brought in hasn't got the punch for what we need to do with it.

Jagex does need to up the game when it comes to Legacy mode.

You're asking for a combat system that ultimately is incompatible with how the game is designed now and making it more prevalent would only be a total waste of time/hold the game back. RS3's combat mechanics are possible and thanks to EOC so it is clearly built around the newer system instead of the old one, if you want to use your old account again I suggest doing what I did - force yourself to use it until you start to love it.

Plus on top of that, if you refuse to use EOC and opt to use the old system you are handicapping yourself by your own hands and reluctance.

Inititally I hated EOC when it was first introduced those years ago, so much so I quit within the first hour of its release and never returned until five years later when curiousity got the better of me. Now? I greatly prefer the newer system instead of that primitive and outdated one as it makes combat more interesting rather than just staring at your screen and clicking stab, slash, block and/or lunge?

Legacy mode should never have been added to RS3 after EOC was just added to the game. Really EOC should never have been added to the game, but since it was, RuneScape should have only one combat system not try to have two with one, Legacy, being inferior.

I imagine content could be streamlined much faster if Jagex wasn't trying to run two incompatible combat systems at once, and instead would focus on one combat system and make it the best it can be.

If I was in charge, I would remove legacy combat mode entirely, and then have the teams work on improving EOC combat.
Hi.

Legacy mode was only ever intended to be transitional - when it was introduced Jagex said that going forward content for RS3 would be EOC-based.

You're suggesting rewriting Legacy to make it equivalent to EOC, which would basically mean it would have to become EOC.

EOC, Revolution and Legacy are 3 different combat modes intended for RS3, not just Legacy. RS3 is not designed for players who only wants to play with any of these combat modes.

It is intended, so nothing needs to be fixed.
