Conquest is an extremely strategical and advanced mini game in Runescape 3, And In this Thread, Myself and others will be covering Some Opening Tactics Regarding Top Tier Setups.

In this Thread, We will cover Antirush, 7 Scout Regenerate, & 8 Bombard, & Rush setup Openings, and possibly more later.

I Invite everyone to post Feedback and their own Opening lines that they know. (that means you memberr!)


Keep in mind Guys, This isn't a team selection guide or by any means a beginners guide. If you want something in Regards to that, please look up my other forum post:adv conquest strategy guide[/link]" as it displays different Teams to choose from.

I Will color These Openings, Based on their Soundness (How good they are usually)

Green = Good (Very Sound)
Orange = Okay ( Aggressive/ a bit risky and sharp, but Sound)

Red = (Unsound But Aggressive Plays)

Purple = (Unkown)/Gimmicky


Sound: This means the Opening Is pretty Solid with not many Flaws.

Sharp: Lots of Close Quarters Play, often Requiring Accurate Lines.

Gimmick: A Trick move (Pretending You have something you don't)

To avoid any ambiguity of what setups I'm talking about:

Antirush = 5 Scouts 2 halberds 1 footy 2 champs. Stoicism, Charge, Battle cry, Chastise

Rush = 6 scouts 1 knight 1 halberds 2 champs. Stoicism, Charge, Battle cry, Shield wall

Regenerate = 7 scouts 1 halberd 2 champs. Regenerate, Charge, Chastise, Battle cry

Bombard = 8 scouts 2 champs. Chastise, Charge, Battle cry, Bombard

*note Some of these openings are direct Counters to other Openings.

4,4,3 Opening:


Description:
2 scouts up 4 spaces from the front line and 1 scout up 3 from the front line.

Objective:
This Is a Reverse Opening: 4,3 Opening for the player who goes first, If the player who goes 2nd does not opt to play the 4,3 opening themselves this line will look like this:
1. Scout up 4. - Scout up 4.
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4.
3. Scout up 3 - Scout up 4.
4. Scout Takes Scout - develop Scout or Foot soldier and recaptures.
5. Scout takes Scout + Stoic on scout -

4,4,3 Charge Variation:


Description:
This is a Deflection Tactic used against the 4,3 Attack Opening, by charging a scout into your opponents base.
Objective:
Charge A scout into your opponents base if they play the 4,3 Attack opening to trade off scouts and bait them into weakening your champion.

The line will look like this:
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 3
3. Scout up 3 - Scout X Scout and Stoic
4. Charge scout and scout takes scout at opponents base -
Variations:
4. Charge scout and scout takes scout at opponents base - Scout takes scout at your base
5. Scout takes scout at their base - Scout takes scout at your base
6. Take their scout at your base + Stoic your scout at theirs -
or
4. Charge scout and scout takes scout at opponents base - Recaptures scout at your base w/ Foot soldier up 2
5. Another Scout up 4 to assert central control - Another Scout up 3
6. Champion to Back rank Anticipating Bc -

Potential Trap: Dejected Deflection:
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 3
3. Scout up 3 - Scout X Scout and Stoic
4. Charge scout and scout takes scout at opponents base - Scout Weakens champion to 400 hp and Chastise Scout at their base.
5. Scout up 4, up 6 Spaces - Scout takes scout,
6. Scout Battle cry and takes halberd + Stoic on scout - Scout up 4
7. Scout weakens Champion to 400

Member's Gambit:


Description:
During 4,3 Attack, Chastise your opponents scout and move your champion into the corner.
Objective:
Purposefully fall into the 4,3 Attack for a Strong Counter Attack

The line will look like this:
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 3
3. Footsoldier up 4 Or Scout up 4 - Scout Takes Scout and Stoicism on scout.
4. Champion into corner Chastise Stoic Scout - Scout up 3 moved up 6 spaces
5. Scout up 6 taking one of the scouts - Scout Battle Cry taking halberd
6. Champion Takes Battle cried Scout - Champion into corner and chastising Scout up 6. (Preventing Charge bc weakening Champion

2 Variants:
7. Footsoldier up 4 more spaces - Scout Closes wall, protecting champion
or
7. Scout Charge Battle Cry and Stoic Killing Halberd - Foot soldier up 4, Attack the scout up 6 spaces.

2 more Variants for scout charge bc stoic variation:
8. Scout takes scout - Scout takes scout
9. Scout back 4 spaces - Footy up 4? (more analysis needed)
or
8. Scout weakens champion - Foot soldier takes 2nd scout + up 4


5-6-6 Opening (Anti 4,3 Opening)


Description:
Play 1 scout up 5 and 2 scouts up 6 if possible.
Objective:
Play your scouts further up than normal to prevent the 4,3 attack Opening altogether, Trade off scouts and try to be the first one to Charge Battle cry your opponents champion.
This Opening has many Variants the two most common are this:
1. Scout up 5 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 6 - Scout up 4
3. Scout up 6 - Scout up 4
4. Scout up 6 captures Any scout - another Scout Recaptures
5. 2nd Scout up 6 Captures any Scout - Foot soldier moves up 4 and Recaptures
6. Scout up 5 Charge Battle cry X Champion, making it 200hp. - Scout Charge Battle cry X Champion making it 200hp
or
1. Scout up 5 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 6 - Foot Soldier up 4 (attacking their scout up 6 spaces)
3. Scout up 6 Captures Their Scout up 4 - Develop Another scout up 4 and recapture

Champion's BC


Description Stop the 4,3 attack by battle crying your Champion to kill their Scout.
Objective: An easy and effective way to Stop your opponent from pulling the 4,3 attack Trap on you.
This opening looks like this:
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 3
3. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4 takes any Scout + Stoic
4. Champion up 4 + Battle cry, Killing Scout - Scout up 4-6 (threatening to weaken champion)
5. Champion back 4 (getting out of range of scout) -

Foot Soldier's Gambit


Description Play your footsoldier up 6 spaces then your champion up 3 spaces.
Objective: Gambit off your foot Soldier for a Scary, and risky Champion attack!
This opening looks like this:
1- Foot soldier up 4 - Scout up 4
2- Footsoldier up 2 - Scout up 4
3- Champion up 3 Protecting the foot soldier. -
Variations:
FootSoldier Gambit Accepted:
3- Champion up 3 - Scout Battle Cry killing Foot Soldier
Footsoldier Gambit Declined:
3- Champion up 3 - Scout up 4 or Foot soldier up 4.

Santa's Surprise (Late footsoldier's Gambit)

Description: shoot your foot soldier super far up to try and get a battle cry advantage
Objective: Launch your foot soldier up the field like a rocket launcher towards the middle game and try and get your opponent to charge bc it when you're at 125 command points. (They'll be at 150 since they're going 2nd) If they accept your "gift" return the favor by charge battle crying their champ to 200 hp w/ a scout.

This line looks like this:
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4 (25cp)
2. Foot Soldier up 3 - Scout up 4 (50cp)
3. Scout up 4 - Foot Soldier up 3 (75cp)
4. 1 of your developed Scouts up 4 more spaces taking any of their scouts - Another Scout up 4 spaces recapturing (125cp)
5. Foot Soldier up 4 more space - Scout Battle Cries Killing Footsoldier (150cp)
6. Scout Charge Bc, Weakening Champ to 200hp -

Rush Fake-out


Description: Play as if you were using the Rush setup.
Objective: Scare your opponent into messing up by Playing the Rush opening while you don't have shield wall.
This Line looks like this:
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Champion up 3 -

Modern Opening

Description: Play the Original Antirush Opening back from the good ol' Days
Objective: This setup is simple yet fun to use, and used to be the most common opening in the game.
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
3. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
Variations:
4. Footsoldier up 3 - Footsoldier up 3
or
4. Footsoldier up 3 - scout takes scout
or
4. Scout Takes Scout - scout up 4 recapturing

Reversed Foot Soldier Gambit

Description: Play Scout up 6 right away... If you dare...
Objective: For what ever Reason Possessed you, You wanted to play against the forced foot soldier Gambit line.. well okay.. you're on your own after I Show you the opening line!!!
1. Scout up 6 - Foot soldier up 4
2. Scout back 2 - Foot Soldier up 2
3. Scout up 4 - Champion up 3
Variations:
Gambit Accepted:
4. Scout up 4, up 4 Battle Cried killing foot soldier - Champion captures foot soldier
5. Champion into Corner -
or
4. Scout up 4, up 4 Battle Cried killing foot soldier & Chastise champion - Chastise Champion back & corner Champion to front line
5. Champion into Corner -
Gambit Declined:
4. Scout up 4 - Footsoldier Takes scout + Stoic
or
4. Scout up 4 - Footsoldier takes scout
or
4. scout up 4 - Champion up 2-4

2nd Turn Openings:

4,3 Attack
Description: Play a scout up 4, then a scout up 3 and then capture a scout and stoic
Objective: Setup a trap early on to try and catch your opponent off guard, using your command point leverage against them, Even if the trap should fail, you'll have a great game!
This opening will look like one of these three:
Variations:
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 3
3.Scout up 4 - Scout takes scout + Stoic
(Original Line)
or

3. Foot soldier up 3 - Scout takes scout + Stoic
(Member's Gambit)
or

3. Scout up 3 - Scout Takes scout + Stoic
(4,4,3 Charge Variation)
To see the different Variations Further, Please look at the 1st player Opening sets.

Potential Trap:
If you're lucky your opponent might fall for the trap at the very beginning which is:

1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 3
3.Scout up 4 - Scout takes scout + Stoic
4. Chastise on stoic scout - Scout up 3, up 6
5. Scout takes scout - Scout Battle cry killing Halb

or 5. Scout takes scout - Scout BC Champ to (200hp)
6. Champion Captures scout - Champ to corner
In any of these Scenarios you can capture the halberd Or Weaken the Champion to 200hp,


The FootSoldier Hunter.
Description: by scout up 5 then another scout up 6.
Objective: Lure your opponent into bringing their foot soldier into the game too early to potentially go up in material!
This opening looks like this:
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 5
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 6
3. Foot soldier up 4 - Scout Battle cry capturing Foot soldier.
Potential Trap:
If you're lucky your opponent might recapture your scout with their champion allowing you to weaken it:
4. Champion up 4 capturing scout - Scout weakens champion to 400hp

Delayed 4,3 (member's Gambit declined):

Description: Anticipate member's gambit and play another scout up 4 instead of 4,3
Objective: When member's gambit is played the most common line is 2 scouts up 4 and a foot soldier up 3. Instead of playing into your opponents hand when they play foot soldier up 3 you don't have to capture their Scout and stoic! you can instead go for an entirely different game instead and play another scout up 4. Note: This is a newly developed line so no one is sure how good it truly is.
This opening looks like this:
1. Scout up 4. - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4. - Scout up 3
3. Footy up 3. - Scout up 4.
*Note this opening can only be played when foot soldier up 3 is played and otherwise should be disregarded to avoid traps.*

Forced Footsoldier Gambit:

Description: After Scout up 6 Play FootSoldier up 4 *Note this opening can still be played the same way with out them playing Scout up 6.
Objective: use this opening in your arsenal to punish anyone who dares develop a scout up 6, this opening is not only strong but extremely powerful, and if your opponent isn't super prepared it will wipe them out, and even if they are... its very hard to defend.
This line looks like this:
1. Scout up 6 - Footy up 4
2. Scout back 2 - Footy up 2
3. Another Scout up 4 - Champion up 3
Please look at the first player Opening to see further continuation.
Potential Trap:
Some people make the mistake of not moving their scout back and instead over extend their Champion. This line demonstrates how to punish:
1. Scout up 6 - Footy up 4.
2. Champion up 4 - Scout up 4-5 (Threatening to Attack Champion)
3. Champion moves back - footy captures scout + Stoic, or another scout up 4

3 scouts game:
Description: Play 3 Scouts up 4.
Objective: This is one of the most common Openings All around, quite Often Played Vs The 4,4,3 Opening, The Modern Opening and The 5,6,6 Opening Or even against unknown openings that people may Play against you. The objective itself is simple, gain Strong, safe development of the center.
Here are what some Variations could look like.
1. Scout up 5 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 6 - Scout up 4
3. Scout up 6 - Scout up 4
or
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
3. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
or
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
3. Scout up 3 - Scout up 4
*Note These games can Transpose into many many different Openings. It is also not that Recommended to play against The 4,4,3 Opening, because if not played right, it may end you up with a loss of material.

(Don't Ask me about the name, Memberr wanted this..)
Common Sense move that was somehow first done by memberr:
Description: Play foot soldier up 4 after scout up 6 in the 5-6-6 opening.
Objective: Prevent your opponent from playing the 5-6-6 opening by moving your foot soldier up right away when they play Scout up 6! This Opening is a very Solid and sound Defense against the 5-6-6 Opening and often gives Good Counter Play if played well!
Here is what The line looks like:
1. Scout up 5 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 6 - Foot Soldier up 4
3. Scout up 6 captures scout up 4 - Another Scout up 4, recapturing their Scout
4. Scout up 4/5 -


Reverse 5,6,6 (anti 4,4,3)
Description: Play 5-6-6 Going 2nd.
Objective prevent the 4,4,3 opening altogether by playing this sequence of moves, & have a larger scout of vision with your scouts.
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 5
2. Scout up 4 - Scout up 6
3. Scout up 4 - Scout up 6
*Note This Transposes Into FootSoldier Hunter Opening if at move 3 player 1 instead plays Foot Soldier up 4.

Rush Fake out:
Description: The same as going first for this opening except you go 2nd.

Member's Mirror
: Want to play 4,3 going first? this is a new way to reverse the roles of player 1 and 2! Line:
1. Scout up 4 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 6- Foot soldier up 4
3. move the scout you just moved back 3 spaces -

Known Variations:


1)
The Delayed Halberd:
move the halberd back to prevent the effectiveness of the 4,3 att
3.5 - Halberd back 2 spaces
4 Scout up 4 - Scout up 4

2)
Member's Gambit reversed
: Go into the member's gambit line as player 1.
3.5 - Scout up 4
4. Scout takes scout + Stoic - Champion into corner + Chastise
5. Scout that is up 3 spaces up 6 spaces (double attack) - Scout/Foot soldier takes scout and developed further up the board.
6. Scout bc and takes halberd - Champion takes scout
7. Champion corners + Chastise furthest scout - Scout Charge BC + Stoic killing halberd
8. Foot soldier up 4 - Scout takes scouts or.. Scout Weakens Champion
9. Scout takes scout or.. Foot soldier up 4 taking 2nd scout.

3)
The Poisoned Footsoldier:
Play a weird material imbalanced to prevent your opponent from counter attacking with their Foot Soldier! (Continuation of member's Gambit/Reversed members gambit)
5. - Foot soldier Takes scout and developed further up the board
6. Scout Bc killing Foot soldier out of range of champions - Scout up 6
7. Scout takes scout - Scout takes scout + up 6
8. Champion into corner + chast scout up 6 - Charge bc other scout + stoic killing halberd
9. Foot soldier up 4 atting scout up 6 - scout takes scout or.. scout weakens champion
10. scout takes scout. or... footy up 4 taking 2nd scout

New Opening for Antirush Vs Antirush!

The Foot Soldier's Requiem:

Description: Want to play a new way to fight against the 5-6-6 opening? Here is new undeveloped play by Kiribeater!

Objective: Foot Soldier is deployed in a way that tries to make you go up in material
or get your opponent to use excessive commands to try and defend it

Line:
1. Scout up 4/5 - Scout up 4
2. Scout up 6 - Scout up 4
3. Scout up 6 - Scout takes Scout + stoic
4. Scout takes Scout + Chast Stoic scout - Foot soldier up 4 capturing scout and defending the stoiced scout.

Variations:

1) The Stoic Defense (Foot Soldier's Charge)
Description: Exploit your opponents Command points and chastise cool down by charging
your foot soldier to win 2 scouts + more potential attacks.

5 Scout Takes Scout + stoic (25 command points) - Foot Soldier Charge killing other scout + Chastising Champion
6 Halberd up 2 weakening foot soldier to 100 hp - Foot soldier takes 2nd scout
7. Scout up 6 killing foot soldier (threat is charge bc) - Scout up 6 attacking halberd
Continuations:
If Scout Charge battle cries hitting champion, Then black can play Scout battle and stoic hitting halberd, and white will be 25 cp too little to chastise. meaning he will also get a champion to 400hp aswell.

If they move the halberd back, protecting it first before charge bcing, Then black can simply play Scout takes scout, removing their last scout from board and removing the charge battle cry threat.

2) Foot solider Sacrifice line:
This line sacrifices the foot soldier for the attack it is still undeveloped and crazy for both sides.
5. Scout takes scout - Foot soldier takes scout + up 4
6. Scout battle cries killing foot soldier - Chastise + end turn
7. Foot soldier up 4 - Scout takes scout

2 Variations:

1) Stoic Protection
8. Footy takes scout + stoic- Scout up 6 out of range of footy threatening charge bc

2) Double Footy Sack
8. Footy takes scout - Scout BC killing foot soldier
