So I thought a cool thing new quest would be one featuring most of the Random Events.
The Quest will function similar to Recipe for Disaster, it will be separated into 9 parts.

This Quest will be following the R.E.e, (Random Eventse with a silent e), as they try to put a end to the R.E., (Really Evil).

The Following Good Events in the R.E.e will be:
The Mime

The Frog Prince and Princess

The Mysterious Old Man
The Certers
, (Giles, Miles and Niles)
Captain Arnav

The Freaky Forester

The Pillory and the Good Twin

Prison Pete

The Following Bad Events in the R.E. will be:
The Rock Golem and The River Troll, (will be paired with the Mime's quest).
Evil Bob, (will be paired with the Frog Prince and Princess' quest).
The Evil Chicken, (will be paired with The Mysterious Old Man's quest).
The Zombie, Shade, and Tree Spirit, (will be paired with the Certers' quest).
The Big Fish, (will be paired with Captain Arnav's quest).
The Ent, (will be paired with the Freaky Forester's quest).
The Bad Twin, (will be paired with The Pillory guard's quest).
The Genie, (Paired with Prison Pete's quest).
Sandwich Lady being the Final Boss.
The job's never done, there's always a way to improve or protect.

(I know the 200th quest is coming up so this might be something to consider, unless you already have something planned.)
(Also this might contain Spoilers so be careful...)

Quest Name: A Series of Random Events
(A reference to the book A Series of Unfortunate Events).

The Mime's Quest

It should be noted this portion must be completed before any other part of the quest can be started.

The Quest will start with the Mime looking concerned. After a humorous act of the player trying to guess what's wrong the Mime finally gives in and takes the player to the issue. From there the quest starts, (well at least 1/9 of the quest starts). The player is taken to what appears to be a Fairy Ring made of stone mushrooms and water rings in between, (this ring is later revealed to be in the Dwarvern mine, in case the player chooses to re visit the area after this portion of the quest). After stepping into the ring you accidentally get thrown into the Lost and Found Random Event, (see I knew I'd find room to sneak in some other events). After pulling the correct lever you'd be teleported to what appears to be the Enchanted Vally but in a different part of it, a more destroyed part of it. The Mime then waves at the player, as the player walks toward the Mime the player realizes that something seems off about the near by rocks, they had suddenly moved. The water as well seems to have ripples despite the lack of wind. Cautiously the player catches up with Mime to meet it at a trap door leading into a secret base. A few other events are in there such as the Good Random events as listed earlier. The player then ask how they are here and The Mysterious Old Man says the people you see outside of this hidden base are simply their magical body doubles. After a brief explanation why you've been summoned you find out that the reason why you haven't really seen them is because they, at one time, had the Bad Events, (con't).
The job's never done, there's always a way to improve or protect.

(con't). ...under control until recently they have found a way to gather together to form a evil alliance. It is your job to find these evil creatures and put a end to them once and for all! They call themselves the R.E., the player then ask what it stood for to later be told Really Evil, from which the player replies, "Oh I thought it stood for Random Event". Everyone laughs, (the Mime acts it out), to which Prison Pete states the "That's what we're called, R.E.e., it's spelled with a silent e to avoid confusion". Shortly after the Rock Golem and the River Troll bust in with a shadowy figure and make a attempt to kill off the R.E.e, however before the battle the figure swiftly takes the Mime as a hostage and teleports away. The River Troll and the Rock Golem appeared to have been trained as well as given some protective armor so some of the other events help you fight, expect for the Prince who was struck by fright. After the fight a small fragment comes off the Rock Golem, shortly after it stands up to later mistaken the player as a parental figure. The Frog Princess decides to call it Geo but will happily help the player change it's name. Everyone but the Mime is safe...for now. The Mime's Portion of the quest is complete!

Requirements:
None but you must be able to fight 2 hostile mobs that adjust to your level, however you will have backup.

Rewards, (yes we have waited for this moment!)

-A small Rock Golem pet who eats any ore, (great to bring on mining trips).
-Access to the R.E.e's base
-Access to a small shop run by the Drunken Dwarf which expands with every portion of the quest's completion.
-Access to skill gloves 1 in the shop, which give bonus XP to Slayer, and Mining when worn.
-Some amount of XP in a Xp lamp.
-2 Keys for Treasure Hunter and 2 Hearts of Ice

The Frog Prince and Princess' Quest

Jumping to Conclusions

After recent "Random" events the R.E.e is left puzzled by who could of done such a thing and of all people why take Mime, the one who can't even say a word about our plans? Captain Arnav then states "Maybe because he "Silent" but deadly!", from which everyone gives a quick glare. After wards the Frog Prince takes notice that a small cat was resting on the lap of the Frog Princess. She states she just found it walking around so she picked it up and brought it here. All of a sudden Evil Bob appears kidnapping the Princess, however while all of this is going on the Princess' crown falls on the cat and Evil Dave mistakenly assumes that the cat is the long lost Cat Princess "Cleo Catra" and "rescues" her from the humans. Worried the Frog Prince ask you to help him reclaim his love. The player then suggest that he comes along, however the Prince says he's "allergic" to teleporting across dimensions, the player then mumbles "As well being brave.", (a reference to the Prince's actions during the battle of the first quest). The Mysterious Old man however knows of a way to get the player to the dimension. Apparently Evil Bob uses the lost magic of Fishery to get from one dimension to another. In order to cast this spell however you'd need find Bob the cat and bring him here along with a sardine wrapped in a Doogle leaf. (An easy way to find Bob would be using the Cat Speak
amulet (a).) If your wearing the cat speak amulet you'll get to talk to bob about what's happening from which he simply says, "I'll do it for a 1 Bob snack.". (A reference to Scooby snacks this is why the player had to bring the Doogle Leaf wrapped around a sardine.) Bob then decides to meet you at the Fairy Ring from which you both teleport to the R.E.e base. (cont.)...

(cont.) ... Once at the R.E.e. base the Mysterious Old Man murmurs a odd spell which puts Bob to sleep. If the player has already done Dream Mentor they will ask why don't they need a Dream Potion? The Mysterious Old Man will respond saying "Since you're crossing dimensions and not entering a dream the potion is not needed, this is also how Evil Bob gets to our realm. Why do you think he's always asleep when he abducts you?". Once in the realm you will see it's not a little island anymore but a small village of cats. Once there a cat guard attempts to shoot the player with a sleep dart only to barely miss. Bob quickly attacks the guards using Ice Barrage, which then surprises the player. It's obvious that walking around here would be foolish... for a human. Bob recalls that you were able to turn into a monkey with a special talisman, from which the player confirms true. Bob has a idea that involves making a talisman similar to it. Seeing as Bob killed the guard he takes a tooth, the guard's collar, and ask the player to crate the Kitty Greegree (basically a special cat collar). Once made Bob will enchant it and the player will be able to turn into a cat so long they're in this realm, (which by the way will act similar to the Sliske's Citadel which allowed players to meet after the quest). Once a cat you will sneak into the prison getting away with it since you have a guard's collar on. (After the quest the player can knock out other cats and make Kitty Greegrees for them as well.) You will find the Princess and try to convince her that your you. At first she doesn't believe you until you tell here that you know the Prince. She will then ask you a few questions all relating to the Prince.
1. Is he a Charming man.
1a. Yes.
2. Is he a brave person.
2a. No, he makes chickens seem like brave worriers.
After this she believes you and follows you out. When asked what's going on you simpily reply to the other guards that she is going to a "special pl

(Cont.)... After you escort her to the portal you find the Cleo Catra had innocently followed you back to the portal, unfortunately that also meant Evil Bob wasn't too far behind. Luckily Bob cast a unknown spell which froze Evil Bob in his tracks, despite frozen he can still talk. The player then ask who hired you to Evil Bob who then confesses that he was working with the R.E. Right when he was going to "rat" out the leader the shadowy figure appeared and quickly knocked out Evil Bob only for R.E. to deal with him later. However because he was frozen that meant that the portal would too stay open, allowing the player to return when ever they please. As soon as you get back the Prince, after sobbing like a big baby, see his love and they quickly reunite, before they kiss however the both turn into frogs, from which then they turn back into human. The Mysterious Old Man then asked what happened and the player tells them everything. Cleo Catra seems to have taken a liking to the Frog Princess so she keeps her in the end.

The Mysterious Old Man's Quest

The Bad Egg

After the Random events that took place R.E.e has been more secure about what is allowed and who is allowed to come in. After losing one of their members to the R.E., and nearly losing another one, they couldn't risk anyone else being taken. To take some extra precaution the Mysterious Old Man tells the player to go fetch a Egg from the Evil Chicken's Alter at Zaniris. Before you can get in however you'll need to by pass a special entrance to the Evil Chicken's Coop, this entrance is heavily guarded by the Pixies, The Evil Chicken lays 1 egg every 1,000 years in The Evil Coop. This egg is to be the next Evil Chicken but if R.E.e is to get hold of it then it would be influenced and become The Good Chicken. In order to enter the The Evil Coop the player must bypass the Pixies. The player then ask, "Don't you mean fairies?", but the Mysterious Old Man corrects the player saying that Pixies are actually a more violent race of fairies, how do you think Slayer Master Chaeldar got her taste for blood? However the only issue is Pixies treat the Evil Chicken as a God so they will be totally against the player taking this special egg. The Mysterious Old Man will recommend you talking to Chaeldar about the Pixies since she has lots experience with them. After making your way to Zaniris and talking to Chaeldar she will tell you not to mention anything about the egg as they will be aggressive to any outsiders who are looking for their God's child. However the Pixies, with their violent nature, aren't as wise which is a main reason why Chaelder eventually returned to Zaniris. She will happily teleport you to The Evil Coop. She will also tell you to mention her name after you get the egg. As soon as your in the base remember the patrolling patterns of the Pixie Guards as if your caught you will be thrown in a cell and forced to break out as well as lose the egg if you had it before. (cont.)...

(Cont.)... Right before you leave however the Evil Chicken stops you and says your getting in the way of the R.E.! Soon after he attacks the player as well as summons 3 pixie guards to fight, don't worry as they'll be simple to take out. As soon as The Evil Chicken is almost dead, (1hp), The shadowy figure will once again appear and come to the chicken's rescue, but before the figure leaves the Evil Chicken ask who sent you, from there your character yell "Chaeldar sent me!", which then The Evil Chicken yells "Nooooo!" as it teleports away with the shadow. You return to the Mysterious Old Man with the soon to be Good Egg and he thanks you for your brave efforts.

The Certers' Quest

Certing Thing Out

(This one is probably the shortest and easiest of the 9 quest)
Giles, Miles and Niles have been on guard for some time now and they all have noticed something odd going on near the R.E.e's base. The feel something is off about the Enchanted Vally; they want you to check out what's going on outside. Giles states that he heard a odd deep sound near the woods, Miles says he thought he saw a green being run past reeds near the pond, and Niles says he saw a green shadow in the distance as if it were watching them.
Once the player investigates the woods you find footsteps leading towards another trail of footsteps near the pond. Afterwards you will find out that three spies have invaded the Enchanted Vally, each of which have overheard the Certers talking about private information. However it's too late to warn anyone now as the spies are a aware of you knowing their existence. You have no choice but to fight the Shade, Zombe, and
Tree Spirit. After all three have been killed you report back to the Certers and tell them what has happened, afterwards they will thank you and ask not to tell the Mysterious Old Man about this as they weren't supposed to mention anything about the base or it's plans outside and they could all be in big trouble.
The Certers' Quest Complete

Requirements:
None but you must be able to fight off 3 hostile mobs by yourself, their levels adjust to your level.

Rewards:

-15k coin, 5k per Certer as a thank you.
-Ability to refight the three boss mobs once a week for Magic,(Shade),Strength, Attack, and Defense, (Zombie), and Range XP, (Tree Spirit).
-(Assuming this is the 4th quest completed) Access to Skill Gloves 4 which give bonus XP in Rune Crafting and Fletching.

Captain Arnav's Quest

That Sinking Feeling

Captain Arnav has discovered a way that the R.E. has been sneaking into the Enchanted Vally without getting detected. It turns out the pond outside is home to The Big Fish, the player then replies saying "He still owes me lot of money for breaking my fishing equipment!". Captain Arnav will then tell the player it's their lucky day as he want you to slay the fish once and for all, however unless you can breath under and be able navigate a whirlpool, (there's another old event), then you can forget about vengeance as well as clogging up the secret entrance. (If the player's account was made after the removal of the random events then the player would instead say, "My best friend told tales of this fish stealing his stuff and if I got the chance to avenge him then to do it!";). So after you have put on your diving apparels and jump into the whirlpool you end up in a underwater tunnel. After you go towards the other side of the tunnel you will find The Big Fish. Once you fight the fish just when it's about to die a Mogre will appear and say "Stop you hurt Best Friend!&quot. You will learn that The Big Fish is actually a pet and the reason why she stole the player's equipment was she was just trying to protect her owner who had suffered from a serious accident that involved a fishing rod. The player then spares the Big Fish and the Mogre clogs the tunnel with a big Boulder. The Moger says if you ever see his friend when fishing just feed her some raw fish and she will help you catch some fish for a while, (basically The Big Fish will provide the player with a 5 minute invisible fishing boost if the player feeds it at least 5 raw fish from their inventory while they are fishing). The player will then return to the R.E.e and tell Captain of the big misunderstanding and that The Big Fish was never a intentional threat, the R.E. simply made a route through it's home but things are taken care of

The Freaky Forester's Quest

Stump'd

The R.E.e is close to finding out who is behind all of this non-sense, they just need a little more time. The Freaky Forest falls from entrance above startling everyone in the room, after regaining consciousness he reports with terrifying news. Multiple Ents have appeared in Zaniris, Seers Village, and worst of all Tree Gnome Stronghold! He says the Ents shouldn't be too big of a problem to fight off however if they gain control of The Grand Tree then the gnomes are finished! So the player makes a trip to Seer's Village to find multiple Maple Ents, the player then ask how are they going to cut the ents, don't they break our axes? The Freaky Forester then says who says we're cutting the down? It has occurred to him that when these creatures invaded the land a few years back no one thought of burning them down, he discovered this when he was cooking a pheasant in the woods and the Ent tried to whip him. The Ent caught fire and died shortly, he was going to tell everyone about this but he figured he could make some cash and "exterminate" them from the fields of farmers for a fee. Soon the player and the forester start burning down all the Ents. The player repeats this progress in Zaniris however when the finale one is burned down a Ent sapling is found. The Forester suggest the player plants it in their house to prevent it from contaminating the rest of the land as well as keeping a close eye on it. The Tree Gnome Stronghold is a different story, yes the player burns the Ents but part of The Grand Tree is infected and obviously it would be bad idea to burn down. There is only one person who knows what to do and that would be Brimstall. He will suggest that you use the crystal saw to safely remove any part that is infected. being a elven trinket it should be harmless to the tree while deadly to the infected regions. (cont.)...

The Pillory Guard and Molly's ,(the Good Twin)? Quest

The Good, The Bad, and The Pillory

(This part is roughly short but at the same time can be tedious if you aren't teleporting)

The Pillory Guard as received word from the Prison that Molly's evil twin Moira has broken out of prison with the help of the R.E. and it's urgent that she is put back into her place. Molly is worried more than anyone about this as she doesn't wan'* things to go back how they used to be. The Pillory Guard agrees to keep a close eye on Molly while you go capture Moira. Molly says that she might be found at a area where lots of money is held, she always had a thing for gold. After asking the banks if they have seen her. One bank in Lumbridge, Falador or Varock, (random for every player), will eventually be the bank Moira is in the middle of robbing. She will have a hostage and the player must persuade her to let the hostage go peacefully, a small meter will appear above the screen showing if it's working or if your making it worse. After you persuade her to set the hostage free she will attempt to make a run for it, however she will be stopped by Molly and the Pillory Guard. Now that Moira is behind bars again that's one less person from the R.E. to worry about. A small cut scene will then appear of Moira in the Prison with the shadowy figure. The figure will tell Moira that she has failed the R.E. and to never expect anyone to try to break her out again.
Now that things have been taken care of the Pillory Guard and Molly have some news they'd like to share. After being with each other for some time they finally agreed to get married, however the marriage will be put into a halt until things with the R.E. have been taken care of.

Prison Pete's Quest

Wishful Thinking

Prison Pete has return from the dessert after his most recent recon mission to the dessert mine. Obviously they wren't going to let him out, luckily during all the mining he was doing he found a Genie Lamp, or was it? So as he explains nothing is going on at the dessert and he used the lamp to wish a way out. Prison Pete decides it would be a good idea to hide the Genie lamp to prevent anyone from abusing it. The Genie escapes from his lamp, angry that after all these years with giving away experience to players he is left to rot in the dessert. He mentions being visited by a shadowy figure and being give the "Opportunity of a life time". Being one of the R.E. he teleports everyone in the room, (except for you and the drunken dwarf), far away from the base. The only thing that is left behind are items that are related to their current location. The Gene, who is still in a fit of rage, attempts to kill the player. During the fight however the Gene teleports out saying, "You will regret this human, I'll be back with the leader, then we'll see who's powerful!". The only thing left to do now is hunt down everyone and give them a special teleport sphere that the Drunken Dwarf will give you.
Once everyone is has returned a cut scene will happen, after this cut scene the quest will be completed.

Requirements:
Must be able to fight a Strong mob that adjust to your level.

Rewards:

-(Assuming this is the 8th quest done) Access to the Skill Gloves 8 which gives bonus XP in Cooking and Agility.

Randomly Ever After

The R.E.e is close to finding out who is responsible for leading the R.E., everyone is worried about about the Mime, why him? The Mysterious Old Man comes rushing inside with a ransom note. Apparently they want the Mime's life for the Teleport Crystal. A small explanation is given to the player on what this crystal is, basically it's how the R.E.e gets around the world and if the R.E. get their hands on it then it's all over. Prison Pete seems to notice that the letter has a familiar signature, as well as some patches of flour. There also seems to be a seal on the note, however before Prison Pete pulls it of The Mysterious Old Man stops him and warns that it's been enchanted to teleport whoever removes it to the leader. The Wise Old Man suggest that you go put a stop to this madness. He also suggest that the player get ready for a fight. Once the player is ready they teleport to a large abandon mill underneath Ardougne. To the player's surprise the mastermind behind it all is the Sandwich Lady. At first the player ask why she would through all this trouble to do this. She explains that she is angry because everyone has found a nice place to retire except her, while everyone got nice homes she was stuck selling food in the middle of crime central, to make matters worse everyone sees here as a sweet lady. She says it all ends now, then the Genie comes out and wishes for him to make her the most powerful person in Gelinore. After a long battle you finally finish her off with a good smack on the head. The Mime is behind bars and you free him. However something unusual happens... he speaks! He says that if a human like you is powerful enough to fight off such a beast then he can truly see why Guthix has chosen you has his worrier. He also reveals that he's really a Mahjarrat but because of he refused to follow Zaros during the GodWars they cursed him to appear as a human.

(Cont.)... Because he already had a mask he just choose to be a mime, he was ashamed that he was rejected from his people so he was quite all these years. He ask if you can keep this a secret, which you agree. Before you leave however the Sandwich Lady regains consciousness however she seems to have amnesia, the gene is no where to be found however. Afterwards everyone returns to the R.E.e base, and you tell everyone the Sandwich lady was the leader, however she doesn't remember anything. The Mysterious Old Man agrees to let her go but they'll keep a really close eye on her. The Genie however is still on the run but they'll try their best to hunt him down.
Quest Complete!

Rewards:

-2 Treasure Hunter keys and 2 Hearts of Ice.
-3 Large XP Lamps

You may now post!
This literally took me like maybe 6, 7 hours? I feel like thats pretty slow for this many post. That and the site messed up like 2 times so I had to redo 2 whole post, which is a pain since I had to make up all this from the top of my head. I was half awake in the beginning so if there's any typos please point them out. Thanks!
Edit* Just wondering, should it be voice acted? Look at me, so confident about my idea I act like it's already been given the big Jagex YES stamp.
Edit*
If you see something wrong with this suggestion please in a nice manner explain what is wrong. Please refrain from using harsh language and saying things that might be considered offensive, thank you!

Just a curious question, are the skill gloves op? I thought to make them degradable to prevent permanent usage. If they are I could change them for a different reward. The job's never done, there's always a way to improve or protect.

Stop this random event crap...They were made to stop bots but they failed so were removed due to there inefficiency.

The xp lamp they gave sucked anyways who cares about such little xp you could of made twice as much in the time you were in the event.

nostalgia is your only thing going for you...This means nothing to new players

Hold on a sec mate, I'm not saying to re-introduce the events. What I'm saying is to have a quest about them. (Although one reward does sort of re-introduce one). This is simplify for fun and plus it's a quest so if people didn't know them then they're going to know them now.
Plus there's no need for that kind of language, this is a public forum.

Thanks for the support Megical Man; yeah I know the quest needs some tinkering, like I said earlier I was typing non-stop for 6 or 7 hours. Not sure where to start but if Jagex chooses to put this quest in then it will be in their hands, which I trust. Also like all suggestions this is simply a plan so things will be changed to better suit the game. The job's never done, there's always a way to improve or protect.

Nothing big, just stuff like reward balancing (additional rewards for some pieces, etc). Also just some just that needs to be fleshed out, which you did a great job getting your point across in the limited keystrokes that they give us per message. =p

Can you put that in cave man please, I'm not very good with technical terms.

for some rewards, you could have cosmetic/costumes. like....the sandwich lady's baguette as a "fun" weapon, as the rubber chicken was. other than that.. i support! :)

That sounds like a "fun" idea. Maybe as a drop from one of the delectable creatures as mentioned in the finale sub-quest's rewards?

possibly, or maybe even make it purchasable from the chest thing? emotes could be a reward too, maybe with the random event character popping up, you do an emote thing, and they **** away again.
Hmm... well personally I try to refrain from making anything available from Treasure hunter as it's a limited time thing, however an emote on Soloman's General store could be possible, however it would have to be purchasable using loyalty points. I like the idea of a emote simulating the original random event. As for a quest reward I was thinking of adding some Mime emotes as a reward for the finale sub-quest.

Now that you think about it it does sound a bit OP to give the gloves that much of a XP advantage. I like the bonus XP thing but I plan to have them lose power over time so you'd have to buy Recharge Crystals to re-enchant the gloves. I'll adjust it right now. I wanted the gloves to correspond with the sub quest but at the time I just wanted to get the gloves out of the way, perhaps I'll fix them later or probably leave them for Jagex to deal with I don't know... Perhaps each random event could give the player their backstory if the player ask, helpful for players who weren't around during all that randomness. Perhaps the first part of the quest could be for Non-Members as like I stated earlier it's a different part of the Enchanted Valley. The job's never done, there's always a way to improve or protect.

Luckily this quest isn't like One Small Favor that rewarded you a small key chain for a long line of stuff. Also the sub-quest can be completed in any order except the mime's and the final sub-quest, that way you can squeeze them them in whenever it's convenient.
Just a question, would you want the Mime's portion of the sub-quest to be for non-members? The reason the first part should be for non-members is it gives a decent reward, and it'll encourage people to buy a membership to finish the rest of the quest. Also there aren't any Member's quest or skill requirements. F2P love!

Thanks man, I wanted something similar to RFD's reward, (
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
They're gloves that are meant for melee), so I figured a skills gloves would be a nice item. As for pocket items I figured that should be a divination thing but it does sound interesting... Skills Tokens?

I stopped reading at the title of the quest being a reference to A Series of Unfortunate Events. I LOVE this idea. As a quest lover, I absolutely adored RFD, and I always wanted a multiparted quest to be the 200th quest. And this... Oh my Zaros... this is just GOLD. No, no, no, wait. This is DIVINITY. Skimmed the rest of it, and I loved everyting about it.

The only thing that I would like more is if there was a poll between this and a long-overdue Signature Heroes quest that would be the same in it being a multi-part quest. Either way, I support this 100%.

Sandwich Lady as a final boss... oh man XD Pre-EoC Nomad-tier bossfight, pl0x

Thanks for the kind words, if Jagex chooses to they can make the Sandwich lady that hard of a boss, (never fought Nomad but if he's as hard as people say he is then that would be a true fight for me).

P.S. Great idea for the boss fight! Will the sandwich lady be available as a boss after the quest is completed? If so, what would it drop?
After the fight... Interesting, maybe she can be like the boss from Shadow over Ashdale and be a weekly boss fight, like I said the Genie is still on the loose so maybe it can give the lady her memory back and you'll have to fight her to make her forget again. Maybe she can drop some possible mid-high level gear as well as give the player a Combat Triangle sandwich which will give players bonus XP of their combat choice, (same XP as a large star) when eaten.

Not sure if I'm suppose to be saying things that us "special" members only know about but after reading the answers of a recent Q&A they mentioned that they wanted to do a recipe for disaster style quest for the 200th quest along with a special theme that they will have us vote for, I believe one of the themes should be the random events however they didn't specify... Are they reading this and if they are then I'm honored. The job's never done, there's always a way to improve or protect.

An excellent idea.
I have been itching to see the random events back in game somehow, and this does cover that desire :)
My only worry is random events have been gone for what 3 years now, and this gap is ever increasing. This feels very much like a "blast from the past" for the old players whereas I wonder whether newer ones would appreciate the quest.

Also, people seem to be very enthusiastic about repeatable quests, so if it's possible they could put the option in.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

I'm considering making this quest play out as if it were a play, that way the quest can be repayable but this twist would appear until the very end. Maybe have all the Random Events and the player take a bow and then a red curtain falls to cover the screen. After this I feel the quest could be repayable or instead the player can choose to replay any "Act" of their choosing if they were a fan of a certain sub quest. What do think, would this make the quest more interesting than it already is? The job's never done, there's always a way to improve or protect.

One suggestion:

Instead of gloves, I think the recurring reward should be something else. I understand this is modeled after RFD, but I don't think another set of gloves should be copied!

Now that you mention it I never thought about that, I just thought "Hey let's put in a item that skillers could use that won't really get in the way.". Maybe they could be boots or an amulet instead?

I mean you Archaeox.

Well I'm happy this thread hasn't been locked yet. I'm sorry to hear that though, it's not cool when people insult others. If anything a "Bump Fest" show that someone cares about the idea (unless it's just the owner spamming it).

This is a very interesting idea buuuuut, I like the Bank Quest idea from Runelabs better.

TBH I was sad to see it wasn't in the survey.

It seems like Jagex is doing a lot of themed stuff, we could use a complete side story thing unrelated or loosely related to a lot of other stuff.

----

Thus, the Random Event Bank Quest Quest was born.

actually nah I'd rather it be two separate quests even if it's done over a longer time, as that means there's more content altogether.

I too liked the Bank Quest, interesting stuff. Thanks for the support though!

It's great to be back. I'm trying to think of a way the "Skill Gloves" could be made more convenient. Right now they seem redundant since there's already skill sets in game with gloves as part of their set. Maybe instead make them into a multi-tool that gives bonus XP in skills when wielded?

I'm sorry about your friends thread getting locked. What constitues a "Bump Fest" is somewhat vauge. It's possible the thread was getting bumped multiple times in an extremely short period, which one could construe as spamming. It's also possible there was something within the thread itself, or that it had been posted multiple times.

There are many factors that can contribute to a thread being locked, and not all of them are obvious.

Also, I'd watch making comments that direct displeasure at specific individuals, as this can often lead to those comments being hidden due to the naming and shaming aspect.

If Archaeox cant handle being called out, dont be a forum mod then. When you accept being a player mod you put yourself out there to be judged on your actions you take using your authority. Archaeox wants to be "the face" of the forums, then except people are going to watch and judge you. If people are not able to call out the "authority" on here when there is a clear hypocrisy in their actions, then nothing would ever get done about any of it. If you want to be a player mod and be "the face" of the forums, then you are exempt from the rules of being called out.

I'm sorry you feel that way buddy. However there are other forum mods too and if they see that this thread is still relevant then there should be a good reason why this hasn't been locked. Also this isn't the place to say mean things about other people (especially to call out a Forum Mod). However I cannot argue with freedom of speech. Also I come back daily and click that "Bump" Button. What does that mean? It means that this thread still is supported by me and what's wrong with me responding to the opinions of others? That would be rude. Granted it bumps the thread but I see that as a bonus.
Thanks for coming back though.

I would like an explanation to some standards some mods uphold here.

Clearly there was no logic or standards held up there, otherwise that "logic and standard" could be explained.

I can understand that you're upset. Unfortunately posting it on this thread won't actually do too much to solve your issue. Have you tried contacting customer service (Here's their Twitter: @JagexSupport)? Anyways there really isn't anything I can do about this so, once again, you might want to find somewhere more appropriate to post this. This thread is reserved for feedback about the quest, not for complaints about Jagex Staff. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I like the quest idea. And if the random events were to be brought back, I personally would like the option to turn the random events off. My objections to them were being teleported out during a fight or before I could pick up my loot, and the woodcutting axe head flying off :)

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, I too would like to have had the option to disable them.

I absolutely love this idea! Just the names for the quests alone help it fit in this old nostalgic jokey way. And the mime as the beginning is perfect! This would honestly be a great addition to the quests and a great throwback. It already feels like it has more character some other quests that try to do be nostalgic. You have my support!

Only, why not bring back the Tangle Vine and the Strange Plant. There are other random events that could aid in here for perhaps a more difficulty in certain quests. :)

Maybe they could be the final boss to the Freaky Forester's part of the quest? You fight a giant Strange Plant who summons little Strange Plants to attack the player in the first half of the fight, and in the second half it could start using the tangled vines to attack the player (maybe as a way to stun the player and damage them if they tried to run).
Honestly I wanted to include all the random events in some way but then things would have gotten too complicated. Pious Pete from the Candle Light Random Event and the scrapped event, Sebastian Gno, were ones I really wanted to include, but I just couldn't think of a way to do it. Who knows, maybe Jagex might think of a creative way to do this? (Can't do all the thinking. ;))

I'm a fan of this idea too myself! Totally forgot about the Strange Plant until someone mentioned it in the thread, totally nostalgia trip.

I miss the random events, it was exciting back in the day being pulled away from mining rune esence to the Mysterious Old Man's maze - and you didn't really care about the reward, it was just a nice break from the grindfest the game used to be.

Totally on board with this and would love to see it get more attention. They did the Gower Quest not too recently so it's totally plausible in the sense that it wouldn't be too hard to actually put it together. And it would be nice to have a quest that goes back to those times, regardless of whether new players don't get the nostalgia bonus. Besides, I've rarely seen many new plays since I returned to the game, mostly high level players who have been playing for a long period of time that remember and enjoyed random events.

A++ idea! :)

Thank you for the support! Yeah, the Gower Quest was amazing! Not only because the Gower Bros. stepped in to work on it, but it made people forget their troubles and brought back memories of the good ol' days! Might sound crazy, but if the Gower bros could come back to supervise this quest I'm sure it would make it extra super special!

*finishes reading* sorry, kept getting distracted by other stuff needing to be done or I'd have posted again sooner...

anyways, great storyline, really enjoyed it - the only thing that I didn't like was that you made the monsters all scale to level - in my experience, Jagex doesn't do a good job of scaling (and I hate super-difficult quest monsters because I'm questing for storyline, not a pvm challenge). Other than that though, I hope that this gets implemented :-)

Thank you for the feed back! I understand about the scaling thing. However I wanted the quest to be fun, and somewhat challenging for all who try it. That way anyone can defeat the bosses with the armor that fits their tier without having to worry so much. Also, this would mean that people can't just breeze through the quest.

Support! Not sure about the quests for sure but I love the idea of reusing the random events. Also perhaps it could be seen as a sequel to the Gowers quest? (Sorry if already suggested. I couldn't be bothered to read the 29+ pages)

Edit: Also perhaps we could have the quest take place a bit more in somewhere like ScapeRune with Evil Bob as a villain? He could have imprisoned the Random Event characters and you need to rescue them. There could be a cut scene where he kills the random event characters who were never released? (I loved the idea - i cant remember who posted - it that one of these guys would be the villain but it's a bit similar to the concept of the Gower Quest). Likewise by placing the quest in ScapeRune you can still involve gender swapped or alignment reversed versions of "real" world counterparts - getting around the issue of lore conflict. It would be a bit like Dimensions of Disaster but more wacky (and probably more fun). By having Bob imprison and kill REe characters would also be a good way of explaining (in lore terms) the removal of the random events - he could have been conspiring for years to stop all those interferences (where the player was suckered into the R/E) and would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for us meddling adventurers!

I like the idea of it being a sequel to the Gower Quest (and making it like Dimension of Disaster (which was meant to be like Recipe for Disaster (the inspiration for this quest))). ScapeRune would also make it interesting since, like you said, it could help with some of the lore issues.

reward for players who have finished the quest should be also the option to repeat any part of the quest (any single random event)

I personally liked the new Evil Dave quest. Something silly rather than a serious situation like the last few quest have been. And thanks! I felt like if the Random Events were to be given a shot under the spotlight, let it be a great shot right? A Swan Song if you will.

I can't believe that Jagex still hasn't done something with this idea. It's been 4 years! I really like this idea, and it would be great fun for us Oldies to see our belovehated randoms again, while for the newbies it would be nice to get some aquitance with what used to be a such a great part of the game. I especially love the idea of making the Sandwich Lady the final boss in this quest :-)

I know right? Thanks for the support though! :) Yeah I wanted to make the quest nostalgic, but I also wanted to reinvent the characters so new folk can also enjoy them. I also know some of us wanted to fight the Sandwich Lady at one point or another. Revenge! >:3

-must have acces to fairy rings (fairy tale part 2, to acces evil bob)
- a tail of two cats ( enchanted catspeak, because why not)
(thats all i can think of as of now atleast)

as for the quest itself:
i dont think it should be a quest with subquests like recipe for disaster, it could be made more linear by talking to mr mordaut in the varrock museum about his past job as a teacher, which follows somehow into a weird chase for evil bob through lots of pocket dimensions where everyone wants you to perform their event before helping you.

rewards should include a toggle for random events which can be done from a button in the adventures interface

the story can write itself with this setup
and again, ireally hope this type of quest will be put into the game, full support on the idea.

Thanks for the support! And interesting idea. Yeah the requirements could use a touch up too.
You mentioned Easter Eggs, I wasn't aware of any. (Though yes I did see the R.E. Quest in a poll awhile back. Still wondering if it's a reference to this one, or if Jagex had another one in mind.)

I support all of this 150%

It's been 4 years? WOW. Good job for sticking to it. Jagex! We need more attention in the forums. It's a busy time but than again... isn't it always. Good idea though, I hope they take action on a lot of stuff I've come across in the forums. It seems we all have a few good ideas here and there, and even some of our "not-so-good" ones just need a bit of tweaking and teamwork from the community to make it a good thing, sometimes.

Good stuff. Cheers!

Thank you very much for the support! Yeah, been keeping this idea afloat for quite some time now. Thanks for stopping by, and happy holidays!

I'll stick around for the bump support. This needs attention. I love this freeeeeeeeeeeakin' idea.

Jagex has underestimated it's very own potential within it's forum's players.

Ingame players - if ONLY more of them came into forums and supported, shared their ideas, and read up more.

MAYBE THE COMMUNITY TEAM can do a rework on Youtube - to promote a better way of exploiting information in here. I personally upload and stream, and I would be more than HAPPY to include this thread, with your permission, and credit, in my videos.

Happy Holidays to you, too. Be cool!

Be my guest, and thanks for the support!
I usually bump the thread every day or two, so no worries about it disappearing. This idea won't be vanishing any time soon. :) Happy Holidays!

bRRRuuuuh ye$$$$!!!!!!!

I was just reminiscing about evil bob! and i totally miss all of the old re's ...
this would be a great bone to throw us OG players as well as demonstrate to new players what was up

Thanks! Yeah I had that in mind when typing the quest. I wanted it to be a throw back for veterans, but I also wanted to reinvent the characters in a way so that new players can also be in for a treat.

BUMP!

Thanks for the bump. I'm glad that you support this idea. Perhaps for future reference though, maybe you could leave another idea that you might have? I hear Jagex takes down threads that have too much bump support. (Which reminds me, I need to save this thread on a Google Doc to avoid losing it.)
