It is a little sad that the osrs community is so different to the community from the pre-2008 period. So much of the community is scared of any little risk and prefers to destroy the economy by having everything high profit with zero risk. I would never have guessed that overall us skillers and PVMers would be so selfish. If you don't like a game, don't play it. If you don't like certain content, don't play it. If you are unwilling to compromise don't beg companies to sacrifice profits for you.
Under promise, over deliver - a concept that is apparently very hard to understand.
theámuadádibsaid: Its obvious your trying to start a flame war. I hope no one else bothers to reply.
He plays multiple parts of the game. Just because you refuse to try anything that isn't afk doesn't mean he's trying to start a flame war.
Edit: afk AND risk-freeAfking a magic tree shouldn't make nearly as much as risking your life in an epic boss fight. My main is "Sup Im Swole". Feel free to add and pm me in game. My private is usually on.

I pictured it becoming Pre-EoC with summoning and all that cancer, but I guess the JGods wouldn't allow that to happen. They stepped in, thankfully.Afking a magic tree shouldn't make nearly as much as risking your life in an epic boss fight. My main is "Sup Im Swole". Feel free to add and pm me in game. It's really hard to tell how the game will be in 5 years. Probably we should see how the situation will be after 1 year of mobilescape, first, and get a detailed answer from facts.
In my humble opinion, I think the game will be still here, but it will be very different and not retro at all (I feel the game isn't retro anymore, already).
Maybe I'd have more to say about this topic, but I really felt and still feel very demotivated in playing, hence discussing on the forums as well, even though I enjoy reading this section, from time to time.
I remember logging on the day OSRS was released just over five years ago. I was uncertain of what the future would hold for the game, as there were various comments floating around the internet about it being unsustainable, a fad that wouldn't last, etc.. I've recently returned from a short break and am pleasantly surprised to see the player base still quite strong, and loads of new content that has been added since I left for a few months.
Who knows where we will be in another five years time, but if you had told me OSRS would be what it is five years ago I probably wouldn't have believed you, so I'm hopeful for the future of my favorite game.
