" I think a better question is: has RS3 failed? Sure, there are a lot less people that play it now and those that do barely play at all. And sure, the players online has been decreasing for a long time now and it's at the point where it feels like a single player game. But does that mean it has failed? A few whales are paying a lot to not play the game, so it is still profitable. Doesn't sound like a failure to me. "

From being merely kept alive by the funds offered from data-mining, would of Jagex have been in a much stronger financial position from data-mining 250,000 players, instead of the current 15,000 on Rs3?

Why did the expected 250,000 not show up to play the game also?

Point being?

There was only a minimal development team with small overhead costs, & a much larger player-base that could've been data mined from. Likely it would've been more profitable with less of a headache involved.

off with these sorts of threads.
Your old one already got locked.

I'm simply trying to find out from players what went wrong. I played Classic, it had a much larger player-base than Rs3 has, & didn't cost nowhere near as much to develop or operate.
