I was just wondering, what were the Runescape forums like in 2004 compared to today? I first started reading the forums in 2006 so I have no idea what the Runescape forums were like in 2004. By the way, didn't Tuffty become a forum moderator in 2004? Thank you for any help you can provide me about this.
The Forums in 2004 were massive with 1000's+ people logged into them most times you looked. I loved the forums as I was a huge Ranter. Yes I ranted daily and enjoyed it. All within the rules of course.
They were amazing and full of life as there was NO GE. So everyone either stood in W2 Fally Garden or made their own threads. Trade threads were amazing.
Once GE arrived that was the death of trades on the forums really. GE is amazing though and love it. I hated waiting on W2 daily for hours just to but something when it takes seconds on GE.
Clan threads were also a huge part of the forums for years then FC and CC came out and that saw the death of most threads. Now Discord is here most Clans have gone there.
Forums have and are suffering but it does mean the Community that is left will enjoy them more and the hard core community here are here to stay.Comprehensive Account Security
STRESSED is just DESSERTS spelled backward.

I didn't start until 06', but I do remember how the forums have been over the years:
- Forums were originally for members only
- F2P at one point needed to have 12.5m xp to gain access to the forums; later it was reduced to 5m xp. People rioted over this.
- The birth of "Chewy", the Page 51 Monster. Fun fact: back in 2011 or 2012 iirc, there was an incident in one of the forums (can't remember if it was RGU or General) where someone managed to spam these forums on a massive scale, resulting in pages upon pages being lost to page 51.
