So that people would feel rewarded for e.g. earning the kudos...? To encourage people to earn things instead of just being handed out stuff? :P

That would earn them less money from these type of events and ppl would complain.

Case in point

Also the reward for the kudo is getting access to the island.

Building the boat isn't/hasn't been tied to kudo.

I don't understand what you mean, and I'm not gonna read a 43-page long thread just to get your point, so please explain in your own words here what you mean if you want to convey your point across. :P

If you cbb to put in the work, neither can I.

Plus who said you had to read every page/post?

Also you obviously missed this:

What is considered 'bad' varies from person to person.

For me, skilling for over 2 hours per day, every day of the event, to collect enough in-game currency (twigs, leaves, embers, tokens, whatever) to unlock all the rewards, where missing even a single day will dash your hopes of completing the event, would be 'Bad'.
Skilling for 30 minutes per day, in a much more forgiving event, not so much.

Where on that scale this new event will come, we have yet to see.

Uhh im sure you're still able to achieve everything even if you start on the last day.

That's how the other event have been at least.

Without buying MTX stuff or playing for an unhealthy amount, I've been unable to complete such "events" starting from the first day, with daily interaction... I absolutely loathe them and am very disheartened to see such a massive update like Fossil Island (or, at this point, just Island :P) is preceded by one.

Ive only ever used the daily tools and ive always been able to complete it just fine.

Yes it might take more time but oh well but it is doable w/o buying anything.

. Also why does that quest get a sequel within a few months, while The Prisoner of Glouphrie and Elemental Workshop IV have been waiting for over eight years now... ;_;

Im sure only jagex know the answer to this.

Would like to know why as well.
