I played before the time of the GE and wondered now that there seems to be two games (RS3 and Old School) that there would be a way to choose a path and keep the skills/items of which game would retain those achievements. I know some people say just create a new account but for me I just wouldn't do that. Most of the time I put in to skilling was mandatory so I could do what I wanted which was hunt for clue scrolls to break up merchanting. Would never have the time to do again, I do not have 5 hours a day. I was just wondering if the game has ever considered to encourage pre-RS3 players to come back and play. I myself, would. I would pay for it.

It wouldn't be fair to the thousands of players who did start over from scratch despite having 200m in every skill, Phat sets, Comp (t), etc etc. If they started over and achieved what they've achieved from scratch, not by choice but by it being the only option, I don't think it can ever make sense to change that.

On a different angle, one benefit of OSRS is that it truly was a complete hard reset on the economy. All the things that are completely devalued in RS3 from hyper-saturation in the market simply aren't that way in OSRS. Or at least they weren't when it was created. I don't play OSRS so I don't know about now.

Third point, the games are not the same. Obtaining items is not equally difficult in both games. The value of items is not the same. There are also a ton of items in RS3 that don't even exist in OSRS and a substantial number in OSRS which don't exist in RS3. Not only that but the items would painfully imbalance the other game if they got ported there. Painfully.

And finally on the note of "I would never create a new account", there's no requirement to play 100% in one game. You can play some on one game and some on the other. If you don't mind paying for two memberships, you could even play in both games at the same time. Do woodcutting in OSRS while clue scroll hunting in RS3. Heck you could even do that much with an F2P OSRS account.
