Hello,

As with everything else in this world, security is a very important topic and anything we can do to help improve security should be highly considered both large and small.

Currently, only our banked items can be protected with the use of a bank pin. The problem here is that our inventory items and our worn items are not.

That is why I am suggesting a small but VERY useful update.

Requiring us to enter our bank pin whenever we log in and attempt to remove any gear that is currently equipped or equip any items that is in our inventory.

*This can be over-ridden if you enter you bank pin while to access your bank.*

That is all,

Thank you.

Also, I would like to add that if someone's account become breached or hacked, the dropping or trading of items should also require entering our bank pin once after log-in.

This would prevent items from being stolen, lost, or traded thus giving the true owner of the account the time that they need to recover the account without fear of losing items.

I hardly think it would take any crucial amount of the developers time to incorporate, but thanks for your input.

Glad you don't think security updates are worth the time to incorporate.

What happens if a player who was hijacked months ago (where the hijacker set a pin) returns to the game? Or what happens if a player has been away for the game for awhile and has forgotten their pin?

The benefits of the bank pin in its current format is that while a player in that situation cannot access the bank (as they have to wait out the recovery delay), they are at least able to still play the game with whatever items they have on them; they can still skill and use deposit boxes to save the resources while they wait for the pin to be removed, for example.

If this suggestion goes into play, said players really cannot interact with the game at all. Remember, Jagex wants their players to be able to play the game even in the worst of circumstances, and something like this would likely put a player off of playing.

The solution to this problem, protecting all items, seems to be the usual recommendation to simply place all items in the bank prior to logging off. That way everything is protected, and there’s no need for additional pin checks that sound like they would only get in the way in certain cases.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for adding bank pin protection where it truly protects against something, but the pin wasn’t meant to be a nuisance to the point that prevents someone from being able to interact with the game at all, and I fear that could become the case if this was implemented.

Already have password + authenticator + email authenticator to log in. Eventually players have to take responsibility (or live with the consequences) of handing out their personal information. No support. Please remember that the forum is not for debating. It is for echoing views only. If you see someone opposing someone else's views, please report this so it can be dealt with.

I fully support this, so long as it is OPTIONAL. I would use it. Some people wouldnt.

I also would like to see options for bank pin reset delay, ranging from the minimum 1 week up to 1 year.
