This isn't exactly a recent update, but it's happening recently so.... But mods, move this wherever you want. However I've already been to the tech forum.

I tried to report this via the pinned thread at the top of this forum page but none of the links work. Clearly jagex doesn't want us to report bugs or tech issues.

My problem is that my game is crashing constantly for the past two days, basically since reset Tuesday evening. Sometimes I can log on for a few minutes, other times it crashes immediately. I was able to play for a short time yesterday before it crashed but not today at all.

Hopefully someone is working on this problem?

I started having the same issue ever since they started their current TH promotion (this isn't an anti-TH reply in disguise btw, but it is an observation of mine that it might have broke something). You can't have a nightmare if you never dream

I have also had this problem as a recent development. After logging in with the Java client and arriving in-game, my browser starts and notifies me of a game crash. The client shows a black screen.

Well, I'm always glad to hear that it's not just me when I have these issues. I mean, I'm sorry that others are being affected but at least I know it's not my computer. :P

Hopefully Jagex is aware of this and working to fix it.

You should put some details about the client you're using, your machine etc. as well as screengrabs/error messages you're receiving.
Otherwise, you're providing no detail to enable others on the forums to offer advice/suggestions as to resolutions for your problem.

In cases like this, the best first step is usually to delete and fully rebuld your game cache. Have you tried this?

What that guide fails to recommend is then rebuilding it. It builds quickly if you're lobbied, so once you've got the client back up, log in and remain in the lobby. Bring up the developer console with the tilde key, and run the "displayfps" command. You'll see in the top right new text indicating the game cache size, and your download rate.

There is no % given - it should stabilise somewhere around 6 usually, but watch for the downaload rate dropping down to low KBs and the size remaining stable. Then you'll know you're good to log in. You can get rid of that text by running 'displayfps' again.

Boil the kettle.. it can take a while. So long as the size is increasing, it's doing what you want it to.

Lol. I appreciate that you're trying to be helpful but I have no idea what any of that means. :P I won't worry too much about it now though since I see many other people are having the same problem, which means the glitch is on Jagex's end not mine.
