Within the recent year end survey was a question about raising the member skills lvl cap to 30. While this in itself is great and I hope it gets supported, I can’t help but feel agility would still be almost pointless. Having access to only 1 course, and maybe two shortcuts if I recall correctly.

With new player experience firmly in mind I’d like to propose that agility goes fully F2P, and receives a few additions.
• Anachronia style agility challenge around F2P areas.
• 1 New course (possibly Al-Kharid)
• 2-5 New shortcuts in beneficial F2P areas
• Hopefully the player owned agility course question does well and F2P get access to at least a part of it.

If done well having agility in F2P would be a boon to both F2P and paid members.

I get the whole free to play essentially being a demo thing. However a demo’s supposed to shine a positive light on a game. Jagex themselves are looking at the “New player experience”, having agility included in the F2P packagage would mean a substantial boost to that initial impression.

If
giving agility to f2p would be too overpowered, then at the very least I’d hope Jagex could do something about run energy and the shortcut between Edgeville and the GE.

Personally, I have almost never felt the need of the agility skill in F2P. If I had a complaint is that we don't have access to the shortcut from edgeville to GE and have to go around. F2P currently has access to two agility courses, the tutorial one in Burthope and a low-level one in Al Kharid (idk why this one isn't mentioned in the level-up table or the wiki - it might not give xp and if that's the case, I think they should change it), which I do think are just enough for F2P. Making the skill completely F2P doesn't get me hyped and thus, I'm having difficulty supporting the idea.

But I do find important the raise in lvl cap (mentioned in the survey) in order to expose some skin of the P2P skills. With that, I believe enough shortcuts (including the GE one) will be unlocked to get a good taste of what the skill is about. Currently, agility unlocks the falador shortcut in the west and some stiles. But I almost never use them, which makes me think (if I was a new player) that agility isn't something that can make a difference in the game. This leads me to the thought that P2P agility isn't something special either and thus, the value for money of subscribing, in my mind, has reduced. This example can be applied to all P2P skills in F2P. There is not enough meat to understand their value. As it currently stands, the game offers 1-2 features/activites with each P2P skill. These features/activities become obselete almost instantly after trying them out as they do not offer enough to demonstrate to a new player how each skill will benefit the player and thus, the goal to incentivize new players to subscribe has partially failed.

No agility is incredibly helpful. Ftp is the demo giving such a helpful skill to ftp defies it being demo.

For the ftp pures that choose to limit themselves this is the dowbside with every aspect of ftp.

So no givng ftp agility would be too much

Every popular game is f2p. The game would still mostly be membership if they add a few more things to f2p.

Thanks for this. Honestly had no idea about Al-Kharid, will have to try and find it. I agree with the rest as well if there’s decent stuff in that 1-30 bracket then yeah f2p doesn’t need 99 agility.

Tbh, the way the game is going, I think they should make the entire game f2p and they should just go full on with micro transactions. The game is already pay to win anyway.
