I thought we'd covered this before in your last thread..? You can't do anything, other than use servers in another datacentre, which won't actually help as they're in the US anyway..
Call your ISP, and wait it out.

Your ISP is lying. Or, at least, the individual you're talking to doesn't know what they're talking about.

The problem is down to routing in the network - that's not on your end, or Jagex's end. It's your ISP, or their Tier1 ISP (with whom they should be engaging on the issue).

There are some threads around Reddit on this, and the common factor is that you're all using Belgacom (or Proximus as I see it's called now).

Having the same issue, also its with belgacom proximus. Called 3 times already got a new modem. Nuthing is working. having like 300 ping in all worlds. I cant do a thing of pvm in game.

When I examined the traceroute that jonastie75 posted in their previous thread, I saw that the traffic is being routed via America, even where the server is in the UK, and that's where the high ping is coming from.

Interestingly, the traffic that then does reach the UK server doesn't have a significantly higher ping than the traffic by the time it gets to the US.. suggesting it returns through a faster route..

As for why that's being routed via US, no idea.. but it's happening in the network core rather than on the edge, so my suspicion would be that it's due to the ISP or their higher tier ISP. It's not something that one can straightforwardly address as a player at any rate, other than trying to use an alternative network.

This is not a problem isolated to Australia or Belgium. It is happening in the US, Jagex biggest customer.

It is not a problem with routing by our ISP's. Blaming our computers and our ISP's is a tried and true, Jagex dodge. Just plain old BULL.

It happened immediately after the last update, a week ago and has not changed.

Many of us choose the world to play by checking the ping.

FIX IT!

Rather than necrobumping two threads about what is almost certainly a different issue to the one you're whinging about, why don't you make your own thread and provide some detail. Or post in rants, if you just want to complain.

As of 3/11/19, after the update, the ping function STOPPED WORKING altogether. Immediately after jagex made changes to the game.

The only ping numbers are:

1000 on my 3 favorites
N/A on ALL other worlds

I can play the game - however it is much harder to choose which worlds will be to my benefit.

It has nothing to do with my ISP or routing - it is something jagex did at that time.
