Lets be real here people. The prayer cape perk needs to change because its absolutely pointless. Who is gonna train prayer at gilded altars after 99 prayer? I think the perk should slow the drain rate of prayers. THAT...is a useful perk!

I think that'd be too useful, honestly. No one would ever leave home without it.

Seeing as most capes act as an extension to the skilling outfit for the skill they're based on, I could instead see a bonus chance of saving bones/ashes upon burial/offering, similar to the Modified First-Age Tiara. Not only would it still be useful for training Prayer at POH altars, but it would be useful as a chance for more Prayer points with the Dungeoneering necklaces on lengthy training binges.

I mean - binding something solely used for the sake of gaining experience to the maximum level of said skill is sorta wrong by design. There are a lot of skilling cape perks that help with skilling (which certainly isn't wrong as an idea), but afaik it's really the only one, that is useless for every other aspect than just gaining experience - especially considering that it excludes more modern ways to train it.

Since this effect is fairly niche (niche - not useless) it could be kept in addition to something more useful (akin to how crafting kept infinite thread additionally when they designed something new). If prayer had 120 as its max level it wouldn't be that wrong either - but since it doesn't...

Why should I resign on any of the combat traits to save a few restores every now and then. Even if I would want to save money I'd rather bind an attack or invention cape.

People, I'm not saying the perk should slow down drain by like 50%. It would take some testing but I would say start at 5% reduced drain. The average bear will keep that cape on their cape rack in their house collecting dust.

Because me for example have my prayer cape collecting dust right now. What skillcapes do you think people are putting on their max/comp capes? Not prayer. What are people putting on their skillcape stands at jurassic park? Not prayer...again. The 1st age outfit is plenty prayer training benefits enough.
