Hello there. I recently got all the requirements for the Plague's End quest and, started going through it at a reasonable pace.......that is until the section where you fight the Dark Lord. I keep on getting my Proverbial rear handed to me time after time and, I'm starting to get really low on funds for Death's reclamation fee.

I'm not terribly high leveled but, I'm not terribly low either. Does anyone have some tips or hints that can help me?

I try to keep on the move when I fire upon him so I don't get hit by those dark clouds but, my life force does not last long.

I'm nearly at my wits end and, would greatly appreciate any help I can get.

Looking at your stats, you should easily be able to defeat him.

Using tier 70+ Magic gear and Protect from Magic prayer you shouldn't even need food. Also remember to use at least Super potions (Magic and Defence).

Bring some Rocktails for food, or maybe a few Saradomin Brews if you're still not having any luck. Keep running around to avoid the area of effect spells that he throws out after every 2 attacks. You can bring a beast of burden with extra food (war tortoise at your level) or a bunyip for the continuous healing or a mithril minotaur for more damage.

Maybe consider bringing a shield switch to use the resonance ability (heals you for the damage you would have taken instead)

If you have any combat auras, give those a use as well.

Thank you for the Information. I don't really have any knowledge when it comes to potions as I've never really used many types before. I brought some Prayer and a range pot on my last trip but, still didn't last long

Potions typically last for ~5 minutes per sip (and a regular potion is 4 doses, so that's 20 total minutes) and provide very good boosts to your stats. They are definitely worth using!
After taking a sip, the remaining time of the boost will be displayed on your buffs bar. So keep an eye on that and 'repot' once it's about to run out!

I recommended using Magic because your level is quite a bit higher than your Ranged which should make the fight easier. If you have Ranged gear already though and cannot afford the Magic gear than by all means, Range will work fine. However, the Dark Lord is weak to Fire based spells so if possible, try using those for a boost if you're still struggling.

Having bought the potions mentioned above and a most adequate Supply of Rocktails, I'm going to try again later. I did gather enough funds to purchase the Robes of subjugation set which are tier 70, so hopefully those will be enough. I also happened to have purchased an elemental staff sometime ago, so that will come in handy as well. Having done the Emissary tasks for combat, I'm hoping the combat bonus of + 5 to combat levels will stack with the temporary level increase of the potions.

UPDATE: After preparing throughly with my Robes of Subjugation/Amulet of Glory/Mining Cape/Elemental Staff and War Tortoise beside me with extra potions/Rocktails, I activated my continuous +5 combat boost (all combat skills for 30 minutes) (courtesy the God Emissaries) and, drank a sip of both Super Defence & Super Magic of which I am very pleased to report that it did indeed stack with the +5 boost so I was able to use the strongest fire spell available even if I got in the moment and forgot to repot and, stepped into what was now a glorious battle.

I was able to to defeat the last 5 "Dark Lord'" forms with each accompanying puzzle in 30 minutes. I did go through a good handful of Rocktails (about 40 or so) to do it but, I was ultimately successful.

Many Thanks for the above advice as it helped immensely.

If this counts as a double post, then please merge with my apologies.
