So, it's been weeks now since the mining and smithing rework is out and tbh it's pretty decent. I've made the Mastwork Armour full set myself and it was a decent thing to do. However, because it's trimmed version got advertised as 'non-degradable' on slayer and reaper tasks I decided to (first augment) trim the full set.

First task in it directly degrades and as of today it still degrades on slayer tasks (!). A lot of people just say: it just degrades for a bit why do you care. Well they told us it WOULD NOT degrade and that was the only point for me to trim it. Why should you trim it nowadays anyways, just for a slower degration? it's just stupid.

Since then on the RS forum hardly any updates are given and we are forced to search Reddit for just a bit of information.

For me it's quite simpel. Fix it or refund those who made the armour, just roll back all the materials and give it as an option for those who want to. OR make it able to repair trimmed master work in your house for money instead of needing the normal master work piece for a repair.

Fixing it involved rewriting a majority of the slayer code.

Rolling back TMW in general would mean they'd have to implement a case-by-case basis, because I have three sets in my bank that I crafted myself and definitely DON'T want rolled back, something that, as above, takes up a lot of needless time.

Making it repairable by pure money defeats the main design of the armour: that it's only repairable by either crafting MW yourself, or buying it from a smith (such as myself) that doesn't mind the time investment involved.

EDIT: And bonus, it's still one of the most affordable instances of T90+ armour in the game, being roughly 600k/hr when it DOES degrade at a normal pace.

It still degrades way slower than when it first came out and now its like 0.01% per task which is like 10k melee slayer tasks and nowadays slayer is more magic focused anyway. I only play on legacy and I like the perks from trim as there is no way to block damage from the newer monsters like on eoc but with trim you can take the hit and have time to heal back with SS and or food rather than the 1 hit KO.

Your add log says you just killed zammy so lets take that as a example even if on slayer or reaper task the 40 kill count would still degrade the armour the minions would also degrade it. If you use any prayer you take heavy hits but with trim you can SS all the damage back and still get faster kills.

If you used standard masterwork your running cost would be way higher even if you can use gp to repair it and I doubt you will ever need to repair trim if only using for slayer/reaper unless you plan to go over 200m xp. I think ED also don't degrade it but I never tried so not sure.

You don't need to wear TMW to get the kill count. Just wear non-degradable armors and use TMW in the inventory for boss. The TMW pieces just take up a few inventory slot though. But against trash like Kril for slayer/reaper tasks, the trip will be quick and you don't need much in your inventory... or you actually don't need TMW at all against Kril. :)

It hardly degraded, the last time I checked during an Araxxi Reaper task. It degraded 5/200,000 charges from 8 kills, which is 0.0025% charge.

Make sure you're using custom-fitted Trimmed Masterwork Armour during a slayer/reaper task, for it to degrade extremely slowly or not at all. I suspect that the 5 charges of damage (from my test) was from the minions after I completed the reaper task and they got a few hits in before they were autokilled.

I would not say no to a refund to the 75% charge i've used, but it is not practical. The armour is now almost working as advertised. Be thankful, you used it on slayer and not on reaper, when the armour degraded like 1% per task, before Jagex fixed it to the minimal degrading now.
Hard -> 3a Range Top (#357), 3a Full Helm (#439), Barrows Dye (#1755, #2546)
Elite -> Shadow Dye (#510), Barrows Dye (#680, #1567), 3a Druidic Staff (#969), Sack of Effigies (#972), Ice Dye (#1539)
Master -> Barrows Dye (#480)

Using 5/200,000 charges from 8 Araxxi kills means you can kill 320,000 Araxxi before your TMW fully degraded to 0.

TMW is actually really cheap to maintain even with this small degrading bug still lingering.
