This is the first time I actually post something, yay.

So I've been looking into the smithing and mining update, and what I see is an issue when it comes to range and mage options. More specifically the enhancement of armor and weapons in a tier.

When suddenly melee armor and weapons can be further enhancement it must be balanced towards range and magic options in that tier.

So my question is what follows, are there similar options to enhance items for range (through fletching or crafting) or magic (through either runecrafting, crafting or magic) in a weapon/armor tier?

There's no official plans (that we know of), but they've said that if the M&S Rework is successful, we'll get similar reworks in Crafting, Runecrafting, and Fletching.

Runecrafting will likely be modified to incorporate robes and staves instead of Crafting, Crafting will be refined for Ranged armor, and Fletching will remain for Ranged weaponry.

There are no immediate plans for anything pertaining to the topic at hand.

smithing is to do with melee predominantly

they have said in a stream if this goes well then crafting etc may go down same route (not a complete overhaul to the extend mine and smith has gone under) for mage and range

but they arent going to jump into it asap

i cant remember which stream this was

Well thank you for the clarification.

Ive seen a trend here (been playing on and off for 10+ years but mostly in F2P) is that melee always gets the good stuff first. I mean there is an abundance of melee gear compared to the other classes. I think there are more melee abilities, special attacks, unique wepons and etcetera etcetera.

I am ALL for the smithing and mining update. It is an outdated piece of content and it needs to be fixed ASAP.

I'm just worried that once again melee is going to just absorb 100% development energy. And then range and magic can fight for the scraps in semi-hidden updates waaay later.

I think there should be suggestions and disussions about how magic and range ought to have their gear enhanced alongside the smithing and mining update. Or is it too much to ask for?

Honestly, with how much its taken to have both Mining and Smithing completely overhauled...
Yeah. Doing Ranged and Magic ALONGSIDE all of the work they've done for M&S...
That's like asking for Menaphos on top of Prifddinas.
