I've mentioned this before but not sure if anybody saw (was years ago), but why can't we have a day and night cycle? I know it would take some programming, and I know the game already starts darkening when you get ready to enter a dangerous place (such as when you start ascending into the wilderness), but I mean a true day and night. Not necessarily based on the game clock, because some people only get to play at certain times and would either be stuck in night or day or what have you.

I mean something where each would last an hour (or however much time), the transitions between could last half an hour or fifteen mins or what have you, and you could even carry it further into making certain monsters only show up at night or at dusk, certain treasure show up in the "dawn" period, that kind of thing. I wish I knew somewhere I could post the pics but I took several screenshots of a bug I accidentally activated where I left my POH a certain way when it was decorated with night sky, and it carried to the outside world. Was cool as hell.

Please consider giving us a day and night cycle! Maybe even random weather, someday?

You can change your skybox to night if you have bought the nightstone from GWD2 I believe. The RS Wiki needs a hand, and Bwian's will gladly take the rest of your body!
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

It would feel more natural in the sense of how it works in reality if a day and night cycle was tied to the in game time. Granted that means it'll only really ever be totally in sync with GMT but after a while everyone will get used to it and not acknowledge that it would be tied to the in game time. People who can easily ignore/forget about it will disassociate reality from the cycle maybe after a year then just see it as the day and night cycle of Gielinor.

One issue that's starting to annoy me lately is bright skyboxes that are tied to certain areas when it's night where I am - Prifddinas comes to mind for one example. These skyboxes are fine during the day but at night it's a PITA.

^ Having it adapt to your local time would be nice in those occasions. The RS Wiki needs a hand, and Bwian's will gladly take the rest of your body!

ive had this idea myself too. i would like it to be that way too. maybe on some sort of timer tho for ppl who dont want a day and night that you can still turn it off in settings and always be day or always be night for what they like. sorta like what they did with the player owned houses. coz im sure some ppl wont want day/night. but i myself would like it.

Iíve also wanted to see a day and night cycle implemented in RuneScape. I created a thread in March last year outlining my ideas on the subject, but the summary is that I would prefer a day and night cycle that repeats multiple times within 24 hours over one that occurs only once daily.

The main disadvantage of a 24-hour cycle based on game time is that such a cycle would simply advance too slowly for many players to experience a significant portion of it within a single game session. As the hours during which each player is logged in are likely to be reasonably consistent, many players would most likely experience a relatively narrow and fixed portion of the cycle.

Furthermore, a toggle to set the cycle based on time zone would not resolve the above issue, as the time of day would remain nearly static in game sessions lasting less than a few hours.

In contrast, a day and night cycle that occurred several or more times within each 24-hour period would allow players to experience much more variation in time of day per game session than a 24-hour cycle would allow.
