Can runescape.com get hacked?

Yes.

Not encouraging it, but I'm wondering if the website's security is 100% safe or there has been data leaks from hackers and players lost bank. Because if the site got hacked jagex keeps tight lipped about it.

Its as safe as can be, to my knowledge there have been no successful attempts on our systems as of yet. Players do not "lose bank" because of database breaches (for example).

I keep getting hacked. my account was banned twice and both times repealed because the GMs noticed an irregularity of my ip and activity. I still getting hacked even with Google Authenticator on and different passwords. what am I supposed to do when the options the company gave me to secure my account isn't working and blaming me for not being careful. and no I don't go to any website that is not runescape.com and login. Idk how they are hacking me and getting my info. Please help

While unrelated to this subject, your email address is insecure. Follow this advice to secure your email.

Runescape.com is a niche gaming site, so not usually under the radar of high-end cybercriminals.

Being a niche doesn't decrease our chances of coming under attack, in fact it increases them - due to the perception we wouldn't have as strong security as, say, the Google's of the world.

Hackers, real hackers, don't care where their database of leaked information or credit card details comes from. The easier the target, the better for them.

Please persuade your team to implement full https:// for the rest of runescape.com domain then.

That is a low hanging fruit, what makes runescape.com domain a niche is because we don't have full encryption for the whole site. All mainstream website you can think of right now implements https everywhere.

Anything that contains or has access to important customer data is already hidden behind HTTPS encryption. Anything which does not, would be ideal to move to HTTPS, but has nothing to do with 'runescape.com being hacked' in reference to account security which the OP was referring to.

This certainly does not make us a niche, that is by virtue of the size of our company and product.

Lets try and stay on topic, bearing that in mind. HTTPS has been discussed and I've mentioned in detail before.
