Hello, Nick and Neriphyra.

First of all, I would like to thank you for the service you are providing the community. You two have been busy at work responding to threads, escalating concerns/ideas to the right department and simply mingling with us. That's wholeheartedly appreciated because it gives us reassurance that someone in Community Management is taking care of us, the Forums Community.

Now, I understand that it is only the two of you, but I have a couple of concerns/questions:

They’re currently using LMods accounts, but this will change next week once we can get them fully set up.
1. The above was posted on September 7th, 2018. According to Mod Cam, your accounts should have been fully set up a week after his initial post. Right now, it has been almost
two
months after such an announcement. Do you have any updates regarding this?

Mod Cam said:
This means that we will have new JMods whose focus is forum engagement and moderation, collecting feedback and helping us with day-to-day projects. They will also be providing cover that the previous LMods couldn’t, such as forum moderation review, ban appeals and escalations.
2. As a follow-up, Forum Moderation Review V2 has been lagging and only Mod Meadows looks after it. When can we expect this to change?

I am not being pessimistic, but the previous iteration of LMods did not work out so well and I sure hope it doesn't occur this time. To be honest, I don't believe any issues will arise given the fact that you two are extremely active here on the Forums.

All in all, I hope we can hear good news from both of you.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Wynd.

I've been wondering this too. I hope the current L-Mods aren't going to befall to the same fate as the previous ones.

Reading with interest.

Edit: I have a question of my own if I may (make that 2 :P ): What plans do the two of you and the rest of Community Management have for the forums? What can we expect to see within the next six months for the forums?

Hi all!

First of all, thanks very much for the kind words and appreciation, Wynd, it means a lot :)

Now, to answer your questions...

1. I can assure you that Neriphyra and I are extremely close to having our JMod accounts set up, and that is the last piece of the puzzle (we've so far received all of our other credentials). There's been some delay on the tech/IT sides of things for both parties, but this past week has sorted most of that out, so thankfully we can expect this to happen quite soon :)

2. As for the keeping up of the Forum Moderation Review V2 thread - you can expect that to change pretty much the minute that Neriphyra and I receive our JMod accounts, it's definitely a priority we both have!

As for your questions, Iceberg - these are a bit harder to answer at the moment, since this is something we're currently discussing...

Suffice it to say, our plans are definitely to help keep these forums a respectful and engaging place for players to share ideas and content, and to see in what ways we can improve the user experience here, as well as keep more people coming to the forums and also gain new members.

I know that's quite vague, but basically Neriphyra and I are trying to figure out ways that we might help bring more people to the forums, and to keep people here. This could possibly include setting up ways to help us share more important information and news here, so people don't have to search various social media platforms, etc.

However, like I said, these things are still in the discussion stages and I unfortunately don't have anything super concrete to share at the moment, but I will be sure to update this thread with the relevant information as soon as it's available!

Again, please don't hesitate to reach out to either me or Neriphyra if you have any other questions - it's what we're here for! :)

Thanks for the response, Nick. :)

Thread of the Week might be an initiative worth reviving, perhaps? Stickying a new thread every week that has been identified as having good content/discussion. That may improve user experience by showing thread authors that their content is being read and appreciated by staff. It would be nice to see something like that again. Just thought I'd throw an idea into the hat!

That's an excellent idea! Will definitely make note of it :)

And anyone else, we're always open to suggestions, so don't be afraid to bring up any ideas you might have as well!

Hey, CM Nick! Thanks for responding to our questions. We really appreciate that. I sure hope that you two get your Jagex Moderator accounts pretty soon! It'd definitely restore some faith once you guys are able to clean up FMR V2 more efficiently. Mod Meadows has been a champion because he was able to update Forum Help and FMR V2 completely. We just need more attention to FMR V2 as it is taking a little too long for someone to receive a response to their reports.

So, considering that you guys will be taking over Community Management so that they can focus on other projects, will you and CM Neriphyra become the F-Mod Curators? If that's the case, what are your plans for the team? Does it involve Mod Meadows' recent approach?

Yes, this is an awesome idea. I myself had a thread of mine on the Thread of the Week once ;)!

Nice thread :)

The biggest thing keeping people away from the forums is the fact that updates to the game are done on social media, as well as any responses to players' ideas seem to only be done on social media. Due to this happening for so long, it'll be very difficult to bring anyone back, there needs to be things done only on the forums to bring people coming back. I have been running a monthly thread here to try and keep the remaining forum community here though, so everyone doesn't disappear. Shame there isn't any help with my thread, but it's worth it to keep our community active on here. :P

The forums are also grossly out of date with a lot of missing features that could be added. I love the Web Team and strongly believe that they do want to update the forums, but sadly their team is very small (as I saw when I visited Jagex a few months ago) and it seems like higher management is taking up their time on the Chronicle website/forums, as well as some other things we may not know about. The only thing I can see taking up the Web Teams time at the moment is the new unannounced MMO and its' website and probably forums.

Will keep watching this thread with interest... ^_^
